We have transformed our services and events into online worship services and send our warmest greetings to all our friends in all nations. A tiny virus is turning the world upside down. In order to protect others, we must distance ourselves from them. Our prayer is for all those who are trapped in fear, and I want to tell you that our God has everything in His hands!

Hello dear Friends, today I have Michaela Buckel as my guest in the studio again. Like everybody in Germany, we are deeply saddened by the recent racist attack in Hanau. I am talking to Michaela about the connection between identity, nationalism, racism and antisemitism, and that this is not just a German problem, but it affects all nations. At our March of Life conference last weekend, we, together with participants from 18 nations, looked for answers to precisely these questions and talked about the importance of taking a stand and raising our voices.

They eat together and share their life stories. We had several meetings here where we were able to speak about the March of Life. Dear Friends, Israel has been in an exceptional political situation for many months now. President Reuven Rivlin currently sees the State of Israel in great trouble. It is an emergency for Israeli security and society.
Next week, we will be in Israel to prepare the March of the Nations 2020, to meet with friends and to spend time in prayer.
The March of the Nations in Israel will take place on May 14, 2020. We will be in 6 cities and expect 500 international and 500 Israeli participants. Next week,  you will hear more about it straight from Israel.

Best regards from Halle. Behind me you can see the synagogue that was attacked three weeks ago. Today we had a March of Life here with the theme of "Halle Concerns Us All" with 500 participants. A young Iranian man got up on the stage to share that in Iran he was taught to hate Israel. But through the March of Life he learned the truth about Israel, and now he raises his voice against antisemitism, very practically in everyday life. Behind me you can see the door of the synagogue that still shows the bullet holes. It bears witness to God's protection, as Max Privorotzky (president of the Jewish community in Halle) also mentioned in his address. Jobst Bittner is speaking on the the Bible nuggets in the Prophet Isaiah. One particular word - nugget - is found in Isaiah 44:20 about "feeding on ashes". When the fire of God dies down in you, you start "feeding on ashes".

On Wednesday, the day of Yom Kippur, there was an attempted attack on the synagogue in Halle (Germany). This shows a new level of violence and antisemitism. I wonder what is going to happen now? How can we give the right answers? In the last Weekly Update I mentioned that the breeding ground of antisemitism is right in the center of society: we have been carrying this antisemitism within us for generations. We must speak about it and overcome this indifference. We must raise our voices every day!

we are still thrilled by what happened at the March of the Nations in Israel. Some of you were there - we were in 3 cities (Sderot, Kfar Saba and Tiberias) and each city had its own character. The mayors of Kfar Saba and Tiberias said we absolutely have to repeat this. Our friend Yehudah Glick said he loved the idea of going to the cities. This provides the opportunity for many more personal encounters with Holocaust survivors, students and Israeli friends. More cities are already getting ready for next year - now all that is missing are the participants from the nations. Will you be there? Your church? Your band or dance group? Save the date for next year: May 10-17, 2020!

Between hopelessness and discouragement and the miracle of God there is only one word: "YET". Men and women of world history were able to achieve much because they did not allow circumstances to stop them. The heroes of faith in the Bible did not allow anything to distract them and said in the face of all obstacles "still". Nehemiah knew the code of heaven and said, "AND YET!" Those who follow Jesus and say: "Yet I will always be with you!" (Ps 73) will see the miracles of God!

Hello dear Friends, today is the 50th edition of the Weekly Update  🥳🎉, and my studio guest is Andrea Werth! Her grandfather was part of the Wehrmacht and a devout Nazi. The only stories he had ever told her of his time in Finland had sounded more like they had been there to pick flowers than anything else.  And it was only recently that she found out what really happened. Hello dear Friends, this week, the German commissioner against antisemitism, Felix Klein, said that Jews - for their own sake - ought better not to wear a kippah on the streets of Germany. In response, next to sharply criticizing Klein, the large national newspaper BILD printed the image of a kippah and called on readers to cut out and wear the printed kippah. An even stronger, more public statement is participation in a March of Life, like last Sunday in Plauen, the birthplace of the Hitler Youth movement and the Nazi girls' organization, that has recently seen large Nazi marches and demonstrations. Dear Friends, as you can see I have returned back home safely from an extended tour to Israel, Geneva, Erfurt and finally Berlin. Marches of Life are continuing all over the world, like in Plauen today. 

Today we have the European elections - and I am more interested in these elections than I have been in a long time. You can really sense these elections are becoming more and more significant and and they are gaining increasing attention. In my Weekly Update today I am talking about the elections, sharing a word from Revelation.

Dear Friends, behind me you can see Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. We just had a March of Life here with about 500 participants, At the closing event right here, I mentioned the petition, which will be presented at the Federal Chancellery tomorrow. We are calling upon Chancellor Merkel to change the German voting pattern concerning Israel at the UN, and also to replace the German UN Ambassador Heusgen. We believe this really is going to make a difference! 

Even our Foreign Secretary Dr. Heiko Maas has called for an end to the marginalization of Israel at the UN. Thank you very much to everyone who sigend the petition: One voice has an effect, many voices have an even greater effect!

Greetings from Sderot in Israel. Behind us you can see the city council where we had a meeting with the mayor. On June 20, we will be holding a march here as a part of the March of the Nations Compact. It’s going to be a massive statement, right here in this place, saying „Israel, you are not alone“! Dear Friends, Happy Easter and - Chag Sameach - Happy Passover! 

Today we will celebrate both holidays together in our church in a worship service, as they both fall on the same day, just as we read in the Gospel of John. I think this day is very special. 

I just returned from Belarus, where we had memorial events and a conference. Before the war, 50-80% of the population there was Jewish. 150.000 of them were brutally killed in the extermination camp "Maly Trostenets", where we visited the memorial with our friends and with Holocaust survivors. Descendants of Nazi perpetrators were able to ask for forgiveness right there.  

We cannot undo history and the atrocities that happened there - but as descendants of the perpetrators we have a responsibility: with our request for forgiveness hearts can be healed and reconciliation can happen. It is a great privilege to do this, even if it is very painful.

This message provides discouraged Christians with an answer as to how they - like Elijah - can leave behind the thorn bush of their worries and fears. The spirit of Elijah stands for a generation that does not bow to the idols of their time. At the same time it stands for the restoration of the relationship between "fathers and sons": on a personal level, between generations, and for the Church with the fact that Israel is chosen.

Dear Friends, next week we will be going to Finland. So today, I have Paula Karppanen in the studio with me who is Finnish and came to Tübingen to study Historical and Cultural Anthropology. She did her master's theses on the culture of remembrance in Finland. Today, we will be speaking about the history of Finland and how the Veil of Silence has to be broken there as well. Hello dear Friends, the March of Life Conference last weekend was really special and unique again! We had special guests - their personal stories were the highlight of the conference: Dr. Arie Itamar (Holocaust survivor and passenger of the Exodus 1947), Izac Rozman (son of one of the Haganah leaders on board and Chairman of the Exodus Commemoration Comittee), Shaya Ben Yehuda ( Director of International Relations at Yad Vashem) and Josh Reinstein (Director of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus) were among those present. The topic is still relevant today, as these newspaper articles prove - antisemitism is on the rise again, and we as churches and congregations have to take a stand against it now more than ever! hundreds of missiles have rained down on Israel in the last few days. Let us stand united in prayer for Israel - the prayers worldwide are like a shieldof protection for Israel. We must not stop standing in friendship by Israel’s side. So, last week we had a big demonstration against antisemitism, for Israel and for Jerusalem at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

Today my special interview guest in the Weekly Update: Gudula Kasch, singer in the band Be´er Sheva, who often sings Yiddish songs at Christian conferences and memorial events. She talks about her family background and special encounters with Holocaust survivors.

Sometimes we are not moved when we hear the news about threats against Israel. Each of us has a personal story - use it for the people of Israel and make your statement for Israel!

Tübingen is not only the place of origin for TOS Ministries worldwide, but also of the March of Life Movement. Every year on Hanukka we celebrate the Jewish-Christian Cultural Encounter. This year, on Monday, Dec 3, we will have the grand opening of the exhibition "Never again Silence“ at the Market Square. On each of the nights of Hanukka, we will light the next candle at a different place in Tübingen. Also, we will have events on Thursday, Dec 6, with Cantor Nikolai David, and on Sunday, Dec 9, with Doron Almog (Founder of ALEH, the largest facility for the severly disabled in Israel). 

Today, there is a very special event in Erfurt on "80 Years 

Kristallnacht – Germany, where are you going?". Stephan Kramer, Prof. Gideon Greif, and I will be speaking.

Tomorrow, on Saturday, Nov 10, there will be a big demonstration for Israel in Berlin against antisemitism and for Israel and for Jerusalem. We expect several thousand participants.

Hello dear Friends, 

best regards from Wroclaw, Poland, where we had a March of Life Day this weekend with roughly 120 people from all over Poland. This continued the reconciliation between Polish and German people that started back in 2014 with a Polish-German Reconciliation Conference in Tübingen. Moreover, we also focused on what lies ahead of us: the March of Life in various cities and the "March of the Nations compact" next year.

I was especially touched be the story of the pastor in the church, who used to be a drug addict and a rock star, and now he loves Jesus and Israel, and is a great blessing for Poland.

Hello dear Friends, 

This week I was privileged to take part in the completion and introduction of the new Torah scroll in the synagogue of Stuttgart. What a special event! 

It took a whole year to write the Torah scroll - and a few letters were saved for the official completion of the scroll. I was privileged to place my hand on the arm of scribe while he finished the letter.
