EP86: Another Bloody Dunworth with @MichaelDunwort1
It's like buses. You don't see one for ages and then 2 come along at once! But seriously, Christmas dinner at the Dunworth’s must be an interesting experience.
Michael is the time travelling bitcoiner, that has locked Bitcoin in 2140 to ensure miners still have an incentive to mine even once the final block reward is issued. That’s a great story – it's a wonderful story – but you may have heard it at Bitcoin Alive, a bush bash or on another podcast that Michael has done (we’d recommend EP96 of Meyrick’s Dabbling Path, EP5 with Discovering Bitcoin and the recent release from The Why Bitcoin Show).
We’ve delayed doing this one, because frankly we didn’t know what we could add, but once we realised the answer to that was Nothing, we decided to just get together and shoot the shit because he’s a fun bloke to share a beer with. We discuss:
The return of the alpha
Sats or Bits
Halving, Halvening or Hal Finney-ing
Iron Man and Proof or Work
Having someone on your journey
Consistently showing up
Fixed interest rates in Australia
Dropping/Opting out of university
Startup culture, strategies, risk and Wyre
Egotistical restaurant owners
When you should change your beliefs and opinions
Seeing life through the Bitcoin filter
Bitcoin miners are just monkeys
Seeing the tech before the money
Satoshi
AI as the biggest inflection point of Bitcoin adoption
SegWit2x and the power of the node
Ordinals
Backing yourself, but having support in your corner
The warped VC industry

Attend a BushBash – Tick
Wearing the Bitcoin Alive T-Shirt – Tick
What next - Maybe it’s time for you to cross the ditch?
We sit down Paul and Dan (2/3 of the Bit Kiwi movement) to find out exactly how things are in New Zealand (Paraparaumu) at grass roots level, the projects they are involved in and hear just how loose meetups are in Auckland. We also discuss:
Getting children to buy beer to gain KYC free sats ;-)
Remembering Anon's names in real life
Getting into Bitcoin with your childhood friends and becoming a maximalist within a few months
Showing up at a CRYpTocurrEnCy shit show, showed them the need to create a Bitcoin only alternative
The secrets to being a “professional” podcaster
Attending their first meetup in Auckland inspiring the creation of Bit Kiwi, which started in Wellington, then Christchurch but is now going national and becoming an event
Using lightning to engage new bitcoiners
A meetup library and a lightning ATM
Orange-pilling your family
Running an S19 in your house and heating your swimming pool with immersion mining, and using 0% government loans to pay for it
Being accused of being in a cult in work meetings

EP84: Building Resilience into your Business with @Paulbuybtc
Paul is a husband, dad, business owner and now bitcoiner, based in Victoria, Australia.
We first met at a BitcoinBushBash (are you noticing a theme) in 2022, again at Bitcoin Alive in 2023 and now he joins us on the pod to tell his story.
This one will resonate with business owner/operators who have had to navigate through a difficult few years, since that thing which we cannot mention and the government overreach in response to the thing that we cannot mention. You know the thing. THE THING.
But more importantly, as we come out the other side, the hope we all feel thanks to the positive changes and outcomes we see in our move towards a Bitcoin Standard.
We discuss:
Brendo selling his chairs
Why are Bitcoin conversations more comfortable
Surviving the business turmoil caused by the hardest lockdown in the world
Burning through the rainy-day account
The “recession we had to have”
The inevitability of our high inflation environment
Working on a 200-year plan
The manipulation of the system against everyday people
Operating in both the Bitcoin and Fiat systems
Personal responsibility
Estate planning
Government poor decision-making forcing individuals to find answers elsewhere
The Bitcoin safety net
Interest rate rises and black swan events
Spending less than you earn and living frugally
Giving yourself choices in life
Families attending Bitcoin meetups, and allowing kids to learn by being in the room
Art by Pixel
Being the example for your children and creating learning experiences
The difficulties incorporating Bitcoin payments into your business
Australians not appreciating the hardships being felt in other countries

EP83: How to Make Bitcoin a Lifestyle with @mary_imasuen
We’re testing ourselves. We’ve been around this sausage-fest so long that we’re not sure if we can still talk to girls.
But we outright refuse to do it for diVersiTY’s sake. Meritocracy in all things. And quite frankly, this young woman is way ahead of most of you guys.
Once Brendo got passed his awkward giggling, we discuss:
The Scottish accent being better than the Aussie
Whilst freelance writing during a gap-year from studying Law, a client wanted to pay with Bitcoin.
The regret of selling your early Bitcoin
How you cannot be a personal finance “expert” without ever owning Bitcoin
Creating a savings plan with Bitnob, reviewing the app, interviewing the CEO and ultimately becoming the manager of their podcast.

EP82: Satoshi ‘73 with @roger__9000
Bitcoin sends you off in directions you never dreamed you would go. In the next couple of weeks, I’ll be helping Roger at a woman’s wellness Bitcoin chocolate making session. A bunch of words I never thought I’d use in the same sentence! But here we are.
Roger is first and foremost a lovely guy, but he also has a unique story...so let’s tell it:
We discuss:
The origins of his pseudonym
My Captain Pugwash facts were NOT true
Bitcoiners as constant dreamers or the most grounded people around
Imagination and creativity
Self-Identity
The pursuit of truth
His unique style of driving
Improving your eyesight
Fasting
Trust in institutions
Bitcoin’s inclusivity
Freedom of expression
Fear of acceptance as an artist
Leaning into your weird

EP81: Seize the Day with @beefbackbetter (Chapter 4)
We’re telling a story. We didn’t set out to tell a story – in fact we rarely set out with any coherent plan – but we’re telling a story, nonetheless.
This is Owen’s story.
He’s an Aussie with a background in organic farming certification. We first met at a Bitcoin Bush Bash in 2020, visited his farm in 2021 (Episode 22), spoke to him from his El Salvador scoping trip in May 2022 (Episode 43) from next door to Mrs Bukele (Episode 61) and now here we are again. It’s a fascinating progression of a doer rather than a talker, and I’d highly recommend you go back over the previous episodes to get the full picture.
We discuss:
Starting a beef business in El Salvador and partnering with pro-Bitcoin locals
Types of farming and the challenge of the wet and dry seasons
The current quality of beef and the inclusion of chemical additives (fiat incentives)
Only accepting Bitcoin in the business
Blink wallet
Hedging volatility
Residency and visa options
Brain drain starting to reverse
Opportunity everywhere with huge tax incentives
Seeking entrepreneurial influence
Bukele’s majority means that all bills pass
Muh roads in Guatemala. Government versus Private

EP80: Bitcoin Alive After Party
Are you home? Did you survive?
A huge shout out to @lungdoge, @dylanhashmurray and Jess (the @BitcoinAlive team) for putting together a fantastic first Bitcoin Only conference for Australia.
We’re yet to speak to someone who didn’t enjoy the day, and the opportunity it gave so many solid bitcoiners to be in the same city at the same time.
Many of us milked it and made it a loonnngggg weekend. Too many people to thank, but you know who you are.
For those who didn’t manage this time, here’s a glimpse into what happens in Jack’s closet.
Til next time.

EP78: Behind Enemy Lines with @Dale21M
(Pushing this one out quickly for those making the trek to Beechworth. Have a great weekend)
Those of you that pay attention (or those that attended the last bush bash at Murrurundi) will recognise Dale from there, but for those that don’t, we wanted to have him on the pod to give us an insight into the incentives at play in shitcoin land, working behind enemy lines for a shitcoin publication.
Dale is a South African who has lived in Australia for 5 years. His background is in law and political philosophy, which he credits with his ability to think critically. As Wiz would say, he’s “found his tribe” in Bitcoin.
We discuss:
His path to Bitcoin only
Challenges of visas in Australia, regional living and covid restrictions
The difficulties of “working in Bitcoin”
Revenue streams (adverts, affiliates, paid articles etc) and the machine behind media
Learning to think like a normie
The race to the bottom (CumRocket)

EP77: Crazy Numbers with @dunworth_peter
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Please listen til the end as Pete will blow your tiny mind.
We spoke with Pete just a few short weeks ago (EP70) about what high-net-worth clients think of Bitcoin. You liked him. Actually, you liked him a lot. A lot of you tuned in... thank you.
We got nowhere near the end of that conversation, as we also wanted to talk to him about inheritance planning. So, he kindly agreed to go again. Settle in and pour yourself a coffee, this is a long one!
If you’re a connoisseur of bullish price valuation models, this one is also for you. He gets more bullish as we go, and we can’t fault any of his logic.
We discuss:
What is a family office. Generational wealth, legal structures, preservation of capital.
Systemic risk in “risk free” bonds.
Credit Suisse, bank runs and what’s happening in trad fi markets right now.
Interest rates and mortgage pain.
Why everyone focuses on the US.

EP76: Bitcoin Mining with Renewables in NZ with @simonocollins
There’s nothing a bitcoiner enjoys more than bursting a mainstream narrative.
If we really are “bOiLinG tHE oCEans”, why is it that Simon and his colleagues at www.Stackr.co.nz are Bitcoin mining with renewable energy and providing stability to the electricity grid in New Zealand’s South Island. It really is a head scratcher, isn’t it.
We talk to Simon about:
The abundance of energy sources the further south you go in New Zealand (Hydro, Wind, Solar and Geothermal) Flexible demand management to lift the performance of the grid Texas and power purchasing agreements Vertical integration with power producers The transition from public sector consultant to full-time degen Bitcoin miner Is NZ one of the best places to mine His progress from CPU to GPU to Shitcoins to Bitcoin mining Scaling up, building resilience and staying profitable in a bear market The current explosion in hash rate Funding Home mining Using “crypto” as a test bed for anything worth doing on Bitcoin Ethereum rugpulls Doing a PhD on the last financial crisis The duck curve Bitcoin AliveWhen: 15th April 2023

EP75: Empty Passenger Seat with @JoeMartinMusic
Bitcoiners branching out into other industries is great, but what I really want to see is people in other industries adopting Bitcoin.
I’m particularly keen for musicians, athletes and sports teams to figure this out (shout out to Perth Heat for leading by example). That's why I was very excited to discover Joe Martin.
Joe is a singer-songwriter who is a musician first but also a bitcoiner. He gets it, and the best bit...he’s good!
We want Joe to be able to take a message to his friends in the music industry, so we’re passing on all donations (streams, boosts etc) from value-for-value enabled podcasting apps.
Have a listen to Joe's story and his current single / title track from his new album. If you like what you hear, please send a few sats his way.

EP72: Talking the Corn with @GazLarking
I finally stepped out of Brendo’s shadow and did one of these interview thingies by myself. Turns out the tech side is way easier than he makes it sound!
The problem though, is that Gary (Gaz) and I can talk the corn! I think it was 3 hours 53 minutes to be precise, but don’t worry we only recorded an hour or so.
Gaz is as bullish on Bitcoin as the rest of us, but his knowledge and life experience also gives him a perspective on risk that many of those that have recently been rekt by leverage could learn from. You don’t need to risk the farm; you just need to get off zero.

EP71: Can I Speak to Your Manager - Hats and Brendo
It’s easy to talk a big game. Backing it up is harder. However, what we’ve found over the last 7 years, is that the closer you align yourself with Bitcoin, the better things turn out.
Look at all aspects of your life; health; work; relationships; family; education et al and apply the Bitcoin filter. Allow it to affect your decision making and voila...things magically improve.

EP68: Christmas Doxx Jar Giveaway
The Bitcoin conversation in this one is minimal at best, but there are free sats to be won, so you might have to listen to find out if you’re the winner!
Thanks to everyone that’s contributed to the podcast this year. Guests, listeners, boosters, sat streamers, trolls, people that gave us gifts, everyone at the bush bash and all the Twitter psychopaths. We appreciate you all.
Bitcoin will fix the world. It’s the only money. But...IT’S ONLY MONEY. Take some time off at Christmas with your people and enjoy life. Otherwise, what are we doing this for?
Merry Christmas and see you in 2023,

EP67: Bitcoin Alive – Saturday, April 15th, 2023 – Sydney, Australia
The list of large-scale Bitcoin only events is growing all over the world, but we didn’t have one in Australia. Until now.

Frustrated by the time and expense required to attend the conferences overseas, Chris, Dylan and Jess have decided to put that right.
On Saturday, 15th of April 2023, Bitcoin Alive will make its debut. A single day conference at the Roundhouse, Sydney ( www.arc.unsw.edu.au/roundhouse ), Bitcoin Alive will “bring together Australia’s Bitcoin community for a day of the highest quality Bitcoin content from the best minds in Bitcoin from both Australia and overseas”.
We sat down with Chris and Dylan to find out more about their motivations and plans for the day. We discussed:

EP66: The Bitcoiner Next Door with @plebHODLBadger
We live in the sticks. We’re happy living in the sticks. You couldn’t pay us enough (even sats!) to live in the city. The problem with living in the sticks, however, is that you may be the only bitcoiner.
That was true until Brendo came along. 2 of us fighting the good fight.
But...it turns out we weren’t even the first in our part of the sticks. Enter plebHODLBadger!
We’ve found another Maxi and he has a friend too! 4 of us. IN THE STICKS! More Bitcoin Maxis than Post Offices. We’re winning, and each one of you is the reason why. Here’s his story:
NB:
I was quiet for the first ten minutes. Apparently, I still don’t know what I’m doing.

EP65: Murra Roundup
This is our light-hearted take on the Bitcoin Bush Bash in Murrurundi, NSW.
It was just as expected. A few words that spring to mind:
Welcoming. Old friends. New friends. Honest (sometimes brutally). Intellectually Stimulating. Steak. Beers. Art. Proof of Work. Growing. Committed. Humble. Curious. Family. Fun.
That was our third and certainly not our last. We’d love to make it to QLD, VIC and WA to attend theirs someday. Let’s see.
Most importantly. If you haven’t yet been to a bush bash and you’re wondering whether to come, please do. You’ll certainly be made welcome. Better yet, start your own and send us all an invitation.
Thank you to all those that didn’t want to be thanked! Bitcoin for the win.
If we have not made the connection yet (Twitter is best), please reach out to one/both of us as it’s not always easy to connect the online persona with the real-life human. Safe travels.

EP61: Back Again with @beefbackbetter
It’s great having new guests on to tell us how they found their way to Bitcoin or explaining what they are doing in the Bitcoin ecosystem, but it’s also interesting to follow a story and see the progress over time.
Owen is an example of the latter. We first met at the OG Bitcoin Bush Bash in Murrurundi in 2020, then we travelled to his farm in northern NSW to check out his beef operation (EP22). We spoke again as he went over to El Salvador on a scouting mission to see if it really was somewhere he thought he could live (EP43) and now we catch up with him as he’s finding his feet in San Salvador. Even if we get Morpheus himself, these 2 will always be our favourite guests.
Today, we welcome Itty and Bitty (our daughters) onto the pod to tell us what they know about Bitcoin, how annoying Bitcoin dads are and to give a kid's perspective on all these things we keep going on about.
I think they surprised themselves with how much they know, and it just proves that if kids can ‘get it’ there’s no excuse for anyone else not to.

EP56: Bitcoin 4 India with @AbhilashNair11
We were wrong.
We keep doing pods with plebs from all over the world looking for how things are different where they are. And the answer is always...they’re not. Brendo even broke into “We Are the World” (sorry).
This week it was our pleasure to chat with Abhilash Nair (Abi) from Hexa Wallet (hexawallet.io) the first product from BitHyve. A fully remote team, predominantly based in India, the conversation focussed on Abi’s personal journey, the parallel journey of the Hexa Wallet and the Bitcoin 4 India conference on November 5th and 6th in Goa. We also touch on:
Accents changing every 20km, language changing every 100km. Educating 1.3 billion people in India. NO CONNECTION TO HEX COIN (please avoid) Simplifying Hexa Wallet for ease of use, and the introduction of “Pledge” (fundraising) and “Keeper” (storage) to be released in a couple of months. We’re back where we belong. My dingy garage. But, we do have a piece of art on the wall now. It’s a $50 note that we’re calling “nostalgia”.

I know, I know...we’ve been slack. More accurately, I’ve been slack, and Brendo’s been pulling his weight (I know right!). Feeble excuse given in the pod. Sorry.
But we’re back, and you’ll be pleased to hear we have a guest. Meyrick kindly invited us on to his pod (Meyrick’s Dabbling Path) a month or so ago, and we decided to continue the conversation here. Born in India but now an Australian citizen, he brings a different perspective that we are keen to hear more of. Bitcoin is for everyone, and we all need to spread the message as far as we’re able.
We discuss:

EP50: Becoming Antifragile with @Talej
There are bitcoiners who are made, and there are bitcoiners who are born. The former are to be respected. They have a different perspective on life, but when presented with new information, they change their mind. Totally logical, but all too rare. However, the latter have always been bitcoiners. They’ve had a Bitcoin mindset forever; Bitcoin just didn’t exist.
Michael – @Talej – is definitely in the second group, and his recent article in Bitcoin Magazine proves it.
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/becoming-antifragile-with-bitcoin-and-beyond
In this conversation we dig deeper into each section of the article to find out how and why Michael lives the way he does, what motivates him, and the process of making himself Antifragile. We discuss:

EP49: Haggis is Back!
One of the things I’m enjoying the most about doing the pod, is that we are starting to develop a little community of like-minded, no-nonsense bitcoiners. So, it’s great to have one of them back for another chat, to see where things have changed since we last spoke, what we got right and what we got wrong.
Scotland has given the world many things, from the TV and telephone to the fridge and the toaster, but none of it is better than Haggis. So, if you need a good Bitcoin twitter handle, @HaggisHODL is it.
In this one we talk about:
Drunken DM’s Scottish football A new bet and meme-ing bitcoin onto the balance sheet of our teams St Mirren not Helen Mirren The new little chip is born. Listen to see if you won the sats. A Twitter hiatus Being over-exposed in a bear market The impact of consumer price inflation in Scotland and Turkey Anti-theft devices on cheese and baby milk The rise of crime Misreporting of news around the world UK cost-of-living payment. EP48: The Brendo and Daz Show
Brendo doesn’t have many good ideas, but every now and then he surprises us all. I hope you enjoy the intro.
He appears on podcasts more often than Nic Carter shills a shitcoin, but since Brendo was eating his steak (not a euphemism) it seemed only fair that we have @dazbea1 back on to tell us where we’re going wrong in life.
Strangely though, for a Queenslander, the more you dig with Daz the more interesting he becomes...and it turns out...Brendo can sing, so it really just begs the question, what exactly do I offer the plebs. You judge. I know you will, and I love you for it bitcoiner.
We cover:

Last time out, we finished recording early and had a bit of spare time. We could think of nothing to say to each other! So, we put out a tweet to see if anyone was up for a pleb chat, and I’m delighted to say we got Crispy (www.twitter.com/bi_t_crispy)
With zero planning and zero agenda, what you get is a totally natural conversation, and it turns out, Crispy’s a top bloke...but then, he is a bitcoiner, so...
* Win 30,000 Sats *
Crispy is also about to have his 2nd child, so we have a competition for you. Leave a comment on this episode on Fountain, guessing the block height when the baby is born. If you have the closest guess, Crispy, Brendo and I will each give you 10,000 sats.

EP46: Bond to Unbind – Bitcoin and El Salvador with @Iam_Satoshi
We all talk about Bitcoin in El Salvador, but what do we really know?
Brendo and I speak to “Bond to Unbind” Director and Producer Tomer Kantor, who wanted to know the answer to that question, so he bought a plane ticket, picked up his camera and went to find out for himself.
We found the documentary to be an honest portrayal of how Tomer found it. No hype, no hopium, just a real representation of the opinions of Salvadorans less than a year after President Bukele announced the Central American country would be the first in the world to recognise Bitcoin as legal tender.
The conversation led us to discuss:
The film-making process, and how a project like this comes together The benefit of not having a pre-determined story to tell...no confirmation bias The skill of listening and allowing people to speak The interesting content that surprises you whilst editing The willingness of Salvadorans to appear on film, and how welcoming local people were What Salvadorans really think of Bitcoin (good and bad) The political backdrop in El Salvador and lack of opposition to the President Willingness of businesses to accept Bitcoin as payment Bitcoin being blamed by some for inflation The need for education (everywhere, not just in El Salvador) and how that should be done The Bitcoin national diploma International businesses opening offices in El Salvador How taxi drivers spent their $30 of Bitcoin from the government The documentary being seen as honest by local people and the analytics showing that it’s being watched by Salvadorans Will people relocate to El Salvador because of Bitcoin? We highly recommend you watch the documentary yourself, follow @Iam_Satoshi and look out for his future work.

EP44: Back to Work – Hats and Brendo
This one felt a bit depressing as we were doing it, but listening back, it doesn’t sound that bad. I’m definitely not being contacted by advertising companies looking for a salesman! Let us know what you think.
This week’s a Hats and Brendo episode, where we discuss all the important topics and some things that will make you laugh (mostly at us):

EP43: On the ground in El Salvador with @beefbackbetter
Don’t Trust. Verify. That’s the oft repeated mantra in Bitcoin circles. But how many of us practice what we preach?
We first met Owen at the inaugural @BitcoinBushBash in Murrurundi, and subsequently travelled to his farm in northern NSW to learn why a Bitcoin maximalist would move into regenerative organic beef production (EP22). So, when we heard that he had gone to El Salvador to judge for himself what is really happening there, we wanted to hear all about it.
In this conversation we discuss:
Taking the opportunity to leave the country after the lockdowns What it’s like meeting bitcoiners every day in El Zonte (and for some people the first time they’ve met another bitcoiner ever) Paying for (nearly) everything in Bitcoin Hope House Bond to Unbind - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx-QWOHuug0&t=2s Bukele being a bitcoiner for a long time Zero tolerance for shitcoiners The Chivo wallet has given some people a bad first impression of Bitcoin Supermarkets having 1 aisle or 1 person who understands Bitcoin Learning through doing Is relocating to El Salvador a good option Informal Bitcoin meetups every day Surfer, bitcoiner (or both) Some people blame Bitcoin for rising prices Healthy scepticism of Bukele and Bitcoin Gang arrests, state of emergency and covid lockdowns Goods and services still priced in USD Opportunities (particularly farming) in El Salvador and working with local growers Foreign investment, residency and citizenship Buying land with BitcoinPod Shout-outs

EP42: Through the Looking Glass with @dazbea1 and @sebbunney
How do you convince friends and family that Bitcoin is the solution? First, they must understand the problem.
Fortunately, Daz and Seb have you covered. Through www.lookingglasseducation.com they have created their first FREE course entitled Debt, Inflation and the Bigger Picture.
The course is written in a way that makes it accessible to all and presents Bitcoin as an option (the best option) to protect your financial security. However, it in no way forces that on the student and simply offers the information and tools that allow you to think for yourself.
Don’t Trust, Verify.
In this conversation we cover:
How the course and the people came together Determining the target market Foss’s ski-lift etiquette The breadth of topics Bitcoin touches Coercive centralisation versus passion-based decentralisation Very promising numbers of people doing the course The next course will be Bitcoin fundamentals Value 4 Value Keeping the education free for those that need it Creating curriculum The importance of self-custodyBrisket’s Doxx Jar

EP41: Bitcoin Might Tank (but where else are you going to go?) - Hats and Brendo
Let’s address the elephant in the room. Bitcoin is tanking. I mean, I’ve seen worse, but it’s not fun. In these situations, you must keep asking yourself “where else am I going to go?”.
We encourage you to look for alternatives. But once you have, and have evaluated them objectively, you’ll be back stacking sats and feeling grateful you get the chance to do it so cheaply.
In this episode we discuss:
Tanking shitcoins Halving humpday A long time thinking nothing has happened, but then the perspective you get when you summarise the last year. Africa leapfrogging straight to Lightning Fountain splits $6.5 trillion in US treasury bonds due to mature in the next 12 months. Rebranding quantitative easing Sanctions are doing the opposite of their intended purpose. Russia doubling income from oil and gas sales to the EU. Weimar hyperinflation Elizabeth Warren. EP40: Knut Svanholm - Lure Out the Beast
“Imagine, everything there is and everything that will ever be, divided by 21 million” @knutsvanholm
I’m going to do something a bit different with these show notes. I’m giving you the questions we had for Knut, to let you be the judge of whether we stuck to the script. I hope the answer is “somewhat”, but I also hope you enjoy the off-script chat as well:
Q1. Are you still a pleb?
Q2. What was the lightbulb moment for you in the Infinity / 21m idea?
Q3. What is toxic maximalism? (The shitcoiner term for the truth) and should we all try to be more pragmatic?
Q4. If countries are just ideas, what is the future of countries on a Bitcoin standard?
Q5. Are our fiat rulers ignorant or wilfully deceptive?
Q6. Politicians are great at kicking the can down the road. How much further can they kick it?
Q7. As you’ve become more well known in the Bitcoin world, has that restricted you or changed any of your behaviours?
Q8. What is your opinion of fractional reserve exchanges?
Q9. First El Salvador, now the Central African Republic. Who next?
Q10. What’s next for you?

We’ve recovered from the visit of Fozz (just) and we’re back with a Hats and Brendo, giving you our opinion (we know nobody asked for it) on this week in Bitcoin and the drama on Twitter. We cover:

EP38: Drunk in Meatspace with Bitcoin Bush Bash Alumni @bronzefozzz
We love the internet. We love Bitcoin. But we also love the real world, and there’s nothing better than hanging out with proper bitcoiners in meatspace.
*WARNING* This one gets messy. Fozz arrived armed with beer and port, I may have chipped in with one of the good whiskies (I give the cheap stuff to the normies), and Brendo contributed nothing and stacked sats instead (not true, he now has his own beer shelf in my fridge!) The language gets colourful, and the slurs get worse as we go.
You’ve been warned. Proceed at your own risk.
A quick overview of what we covered:
A ridiculous amount of name-drops. We were all guilty. I’ll include some below, sorry if I missed you out. Fozz’s move into farming, his long-term plans and how Bitcoin will get him there. Why those with addictive personalities love (and stick with) Bitcoin. Health, ethics and hope for the future. The joy of orange-pilling friends and family. EP34: Clips, Boosts and Streaming Sats. Is Podcasting 2.0 the next Bitcoin Orange-Pilling Trojan Horse with @MerryOscar
If you’ve been listening to us recently, you can’t have missed us waxing lyrical about Fountain app (www.fountain.fm), so, we were delighted that Oscar Merry accepted our invitation to come on and tell us all about it.
We were aware of some of the implications of podcasting 2.0, but this episode will give you an insight into Oscar’s vision for the future and how we all benefit. We talk about:
The Bitcoin back-story starts with a tech/engineering background, the ignored introduction by a friend and a bullishness for podcasts and audio in general Building games on Amazon Alexa Fountain started with the idea of curating pods with clips (playlists) and integrating Bitcoin wasn’t part of the plan How to discover and share the best insights from podcasts The open nature of podcasting 2.0 Fountain contributing to Bitcoin orange-pilling way faster than most of us managed Streaming Bitcoin (sats) over the Lightning network to your favourite creators “Boosts” (a tip with a message) to help you connect with your audience Putting the control of the listening experience in the hands of the listener Are podcasters adjusting their content to reflect the interests of their listeners Using listener comments in show content Why the advertising model will not be replaced by value-for-value (yet) Supporting podcast guests with splits Exposing podcasters to Bitcoin for the first time Decentralisation and interoperability of podcasting apps Streaming sats becoming normal in all disciplines Lightning comments enabling listeners to help other listeners and hosts interact with their listenersBrisket’s Doxx Jar

Why he felt the need to contribute Anacho-capitalism, fire dancing and freedom maximalism Bitcoin being the tool for job BitTorrent as the proof of concept Different paths to the same destination Running an organic muesli business Motion graphics, After Effects and self-taught in Illustrator Bringing together your personal skill set, and getting paid to do the thing you love Appreciating working within constraints Shadowbans Fuel prices are going to wake people up Psychedelic festivals, personal experiences and therapeutic use of drugs How do creative people work for Bitcoin The importance of positivity The moral quandary of NFTs Spending your sats with other bitcoiners. It really is fun to sit down to record a pod and have no idea what direction it’s going to go. This week we predominantly discussed library policies. I know, I know that sounds unbelievably depressing, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised...seriously!
If that’s not for you, then maybe something else from the following list will be:

Our guest is @BitcoinSampo, and we’re delighted to go international again. We want to hear perspectives from all over the world and get out of our own echo chamber. So, we’re (virtually) off to Finland.
Despite sounding like an assassin, Sampo is a prolific Twitter poster about both Bitcoin and human rights. An English teacher by profession, he currently operates a small business that offers translating services, most recently in the gaming industry.
He – like many – are class of 2017, but really put in the work in 2018 to “discover the beauty of Bitcoin”, and for the last 3 years has been Bitcoin only.
