#29 – #1 BOOK RECOMMENDATION, THE FUTURE OF FRAMING PITCHES, #1 TIP FOR FIRST BASEMEN
PART #1: I share my #1 non-fiction book recommendation. This is an author and a book that discusses the biggest game-changer in life, and when the information is applied consistently you’ll optimize yourself as a person, player, coach, etc. Interestingly enough I came across this book after first deeply studying the ‘Zen Master’ himself, Phil Jackson.
PART #2: We analyze the value of ‘pitch framing’ moving forward. We discuss how this skill will likely soon become useless at the pro level, and how that should affect the allocation of ‘framing training’ time for amateur/youth players.

THE 3 ROOT HITTING PLANS (Audio Article)
This is the audio version of the ‘The 3 Hitting Plans’ article in which we optimize the hitting approach/plan down to the only 3 hitting plans/approaches a hitter needs, and why discuss why choosing the correct one is actually very straightforward. This is a big game-changer within the baseball community, as the Hitting Approach (or as I prefer to call it the Hitting Plan) is very commonly discussed, but rarely in terms of optimization. It’s something that has been passed down over the years yet never fully simplified. Essentially, these 3 plans derive straight from old-school wisdom, but I’ve stripped away the excess to do what should have been done a long time ago and that is to maximize the simplification of the hitter’s PRE-PITCH PLAN.
Also, give a listen to EPISODE #17 ‘THE 3 HITTING PLANS: FIELD MANUAL’ for a more in-depth look.

THE HALL-OF-FAME LIBRARIAN (Audio Article)
In this episode, we’ll discuss why the pitcher’s foundation is directly responsible for the vast majority of a pitcher’s success. In a baseball world full of arm-care, and arm-strength talk, it’s the legs, hips, and even the torso that have the largest impact on a pitcher’s success and arm-health. This is not to say that many of the arm-strengthening protocols such as Long Toss and Plyo Balls are not helpful, they are, it’s simply that the lower 2/3 of the pitcher’s body, is the dominant influencer when it comes to game-success and arm-health.
This episode keys in on the importance of building the pitcher’s delivery from the ground-up.
