By [80-8 Industries] The Daily Grind - podcast
From my personal thoughts on life, to making connections with the individuals I meet therein.
This podcast is about celebrating life and asking questions, even of ourselves.
I have created a handful of series around afew of my favorite things.
"The Society of Poets" is my homage to Poetry, where I sit and dive into the many processes that go into a spoken word piece
and the variations each poet brings that make every line unique.

Breakfast@ Josiah's w/ Josh Barrows
In this episode I speak with Josh Barrows, an English professor at Augustana University.
I introduced myself to Josh after seeing the weekly gatherings he holds for student athletes and invited him on to talk more about the why of his efforts.
to no surprise, I found that his reasons, though different in some degree, were in fact similar in scope.
How do we become more effective in our communication to better deepen the connections we make with ourselves, our friends and the "Stranger"
we know little about. This conversation revealed a great deal to me in my own efforts and, provided more tools to utilize in future podcasts.
Thank you again for joining us in another episode of Breakfast@

Breakfast@ Josiah's Coffee House & Cafe w/Ian L. Fleming and co-host Megan Melissa.
When does self reconciliation occur and how does it change our future. Perhaps the ability to reflect on choices, see the outcomes of potential paths is what's necessary but, when is it learned. Here we dive into one man's experiences and reflect on some of his own revelations welcome to Breakfast@

Breakfast@ w/Adam & Samantha
When you are living your best life, it is amazing how synchronicity finds and brings the gift of perspective to you.
But these are subtleties, bare not with vigorous observation.
Sometimes the people you meet are those whom you were meant to, for what ever reason as that may be all it was meant to be.
Grateful to Adam and Samantha for joining us in this topic and conversation, as well as for providing their own perspective in the matter.
Life after all is indeed a shared experience and I am grateful to those who share theirs with me.
Till we next time.

Breakfast@ - Josiah's - with Shirley Wang
What is the meaning of life and where might we find it.? Perhaps asking questions and telling stories that lead us down a thought experiment is a good start, or, maybe it's in the random interaction in-between speculation that show us life's true nature. Where ever it takes us, I am always grateful to those willing to dive in with me and explore the potentials and possibilities all while really getting to know one another. If life is anything, it may be just that. What do you think?
Apr 27, 202255:19

Breakfast@ - Josiah's - (Teaser)
Great conversations have to start somewhere and as I have come to find, some of the best insights and topic starters come before the episode even begins. Luckily, I've learned a few lessons that have helped me capture moments like these. This is not the full episode, and actually not even part of the episode itself. This was just the beginnings of something quite remarkable... The human connection.
Apr 25, 202224:09

Breakfast@ - Queen City Bakery
When we are confronted with conflict in what would seem like every aspect of our lives, one must consider the human element in all of it. The politics create our division and yet when we are able to find empathy in anothers struggle, we see the differences fade and the connective tissues bared before us. We are Humanity and it is our duty to make peace within, so that we may share that peace with the rest of the world. Here is to doing my part in that endeavor.
Apr 13, 202201:19:15

Breakfast@ - La Luna Cafe -

Mar 16, 202201:28:29

BreakFast@ - Queen City Bakery
This is a dive into the daily struggles of connection between people. Whether it is at home or in the work place, communicating ourselves to others seems to remain humanities greatest hurdle. As long as each of us do our part in the pursuit of bridging this divide, we and those who come after us only benefit from the fruits of this laborious task.

We are all seeking, and not anyone person has the answers. Perhaps that's the point?

"Just My Two Cents." [Encanto]
This is truly just my two cents on the Disney Movie "Encanto". It hit home in a way I hadn't felt in a film for some time. And though the Music was an over the top procession of hit after hit musical numbers, no one can argue, this movie, made sure you left with something. Remembering what was forgotten.
These conversations come up in very interesting way, most of the time in the middle of some important thought that somehow, though on the tip of our tongue, vanishes. What are they, who's are they and do we ever see them manifest elsewhere.?
Nov 29, 202108:01

Some thoughts on forgetfulness.
Interesting how our thoughts get lost in the ether. Do we ever consider the moment, this moment that has you reading these words.? This feels like a good consideration to start with. Grateful to the friends I can convers with.

The Daily Grind - Captain Marvel - movie review
An expression of our take on the movie "Captain Marvel". 8.5/10. It qas an all around great movie, the nostalgia of classic heros and call back characters, the development and tie in to the Marvel Universe as a whole was all well put together. We can talk about the subtle missteps, the breaks in immersion here and there but over all, it is definitely a movie with a message worth seeing.

Taking action for Women's right's.
This isn't just about equality, gender, race or creed....... This is about that little thing Aretha Franklin (RIP) was singing about when women were finally finding platforms to voice their issues, RESPECT!!! Every things these women are fighting for derives from this one simple word. Consider this, if our children are raised by empowered women, they grow up to embody those traits. Not only that, they thrive to teach others including their own children that very same thing. Let us begin now, in the support of the mother's of our nation, the bearer's of our children and the keepers of the compassion we so desperately need right now in this world. If you are willing to give a moment of your time for the cause, hear them out as they speak their truths, unhindered and unapologetic.

Defining Leadership
We all believe that great leaders are like the hero's of old.
Big and strong, Smart and tactful or just driven in a way that makes them magnetic and unable to fail.
But that is not what real leaders look like.
They have been beaten down, built businesses up only to them fall. Yet failure after failure, true leaders understand how to get back on their feet and keep pushing, fighting the good fight and they are willing to teach those around them how to avoid the pitfalls they themselves have experiences.
How do we definitely Leadership.?!
Being driven is definitely a characteristic of good leadership but, that is just what you see in there day to day lives.
How do good leaders interact with the people around them, what is their philosophy.?
In this episode I want to dive into the mentality of what makes a leader and what makes that leader great.!!

For Services Rendered
In an existential crisis what type of currency will rain supreme, and who will benefit.
If the people are to survive, even in a world like the one we live in now, we must start putting our own value on goods and services.
But how do we do that, how do we determine value......???
Like everything else, I believe it starts with a conversation and an acceptance from both parties on the exchange rate.
Wait, were does interest come from...?
Join us in the conversation and tell us your thoughts.

"Forgiveness, easy to do or hard to do?."
How many times have we felt the pain inside so strong that it envelopes ans consumes us. How many times has it been made by either our own or anothers bad choices or actions.
How many times have we forgiven ourselves and others for them...???
Todays topic is on the implementation of forgiveness and how necessary it is RIGHT NOW.
Please joine us in the conversation, leave a comment and talk about your experiences with either using forgiveness or your apprehensions towards it.

How karma Really Works
Every day is a struggle, there is no doubt about that.
But if our perception of the world based on how we think and feel is what manifests itself tangibly, then it is in our best interest to keep cool, calm and collected when negativity is thrown our way.
Here is to those who continue to spead their love for humanity with positive vibes....
We love you.

Is Slavery a Choice..???
We have a lot of what has now been coined "Fake News".
But how far are we willing to go in excepting opinions regarding documented accounts as "Facts"
Just because one doesn't want to believe that people had the capacity to torture and kill the Native Americans over land, does not mean it did not happen.
Here and now, we must begin to discuss how far these faulshoods can go and at what expence they are being made.
Join me on the movement, speak in the conversation because no one can afford to sit idley by and let these things go without rebuttal.

What is "REAL LOVE"
When we talk about love, what do we really mean.
Love being such a pervasive topic, holds different meaning to different people, even more so cultrually.
Let us come together and find some truth and understanding about how we feel when we talk about LOVE.
