Ur-ine Luck: Universal Healthcare

Ur-ine Luck: Universal Healthcare

In this episode, I’d like to not only further the discussion about universal healthcare but more importantly educate you all on some of the systemic problems in our healthcare system and how universal healthcare may address them. I’ll abbreviate universal healthcare as UHC for the rest of this podcast to save your ears. Considering the complexity of this issue, I’ve divided it into five parts. First, Why Does the United States Need to Do Better in Healthcare Reform? Second,  Third, What are the arguments for UHC? Fourth, What are the arguments against UHC? Fifth and finally, Resolving the Debate. By structuring the topic in this specific manner, I hope to present both sides in an equal and fair manner while still coming to a conclusion in the best way possible… a debate with myself.

Time to Refocus: North Korea

Time to Refocus: North Korea

Hi! I’m Aaron Situ and I’m your host for this month’s notion, Time to Refocus: North Korea. There are a couple of things I want to go over. First, a comparison between 2017 North Korea and 2022 North Korea, second, what are North Korea’s goals and how do they align with the interests of the international community before finally examining the flaws of our current North Korea policy and how to improve it.

Democracy at Stake: Moore v. Harper

Democracy at Stake: Moore v. Harper

Last year, North Carolina’s Republican-dominated, state legislatures passed a district map so gerrymandered that even if the state was 50% democratic and 50% republican, ten out of fourteen congressional seats would have gone to the Republicans. The map was eventually struck down but an upcoming Supreme Court case, Moore v. Harper, could reverse this. The Court will determine whether or not the map being stricken was justified. While the decision seems obvious, partisan scheming and the consequences of an unprecedented ruling can not be overlooked. After all, the result of Moore v. Harper could upend the pillars of America’s democracy.
