Jack Thompson is an ultra endurance cyclist, better known as Jack Ultra Cyclist (www.jackultracyclist.com). We originally hosted Jack back on episode 53, in which we delve further into Jack’s journey into ultra cycling. In this episode, we’re focused on Jack’s current incredible project: to cycle 1,000,000 metres of elevation gain in one year, and to raise 1,000,000 euros for mental health charities at the same time. As part of his plan to gain that insane amount of vertical, Jack is doing one full Everesting, every week, all year. Remembering Ryan Correy
Ryan Correy was an adventure cyclist, ultra endurance athlete, author and the founder of Bikepack Canada. Ryan accomplished some unbelievable adventures, such as cycling a loop around Canada and the U.S., and cycling the Pam-American Highway (from Alaska at Argentina). He also competed in some of the most gruelling cycling races in the world, including RAAM and the Tour Divide. Ryan wrote a great book about his adventures (A Purpose Ridden), as well as a guidebook (Bikepacking in the Canadian Rockies), which you can find at www.bikepack.ca/store. Ryan was diagnosed with cancer in July 2017 and lost his battle the following spring. Ryan had an enormous impact on the cycling world in his time. This episode is us remembering Ryan, and we include a portion of a conversation we had together (along with Jim Capra) back in March of 2017.
