AlSpeakUp - Episode 7 - w/ Andy Grant
This is a conversation with my friend and fellow podcast host, Andy Grant. A lighthearted chat with someone who has inspired and helped me some to get my podcast off the ground.
A little over a year ago I discovered a podcast called Real Men Feel. I immediately liked it and decided to go back to it's first episode and listened from there. I was a truck driver at the time so I had plenty of time to do it. As I listened I found out that the host, Andy Grant, and I had a few things in common. We lived not far from each other in the same state, at the time, we both were a part of The Mankind Project, and we both had experience with, thankfully, failed suicide attempts.

AlSpeakUp - Episode 6 - "Barbershop" Chat
I used to listen to the older men in the barbershop talk when I was a kid. They had a sense of community and support for one another. Their chats ranged a vast about of topics. But they were always interesting and sometimes they really made me think. This is my attempt at having that type of chat with, Basil Jackson (Philadelphia, PA) and Todd Sullivan (Taipei, Taiwan).

AlSpeakUp - Episode 5 - Conversation w/Celeste Atkins

AlSpeakUp - Episode 4 - Conversation w/ Leona Evans
This was a very good and insightful conversation with, minister, social justice activist, and actor Leona Evans of the Get Off Your Affirmation.

AlSpeakUp - Episode 3 - Conversation w/ Keeya Bighorse
I have a conversation with an MKP brother who is an indigenous person of Caygua Nation of Upstate New York. I asked him to school me and he does just that! I appreciate his kindness, patience, understanding and willingness to help me and others to understand more about indigenous people. As well, we relate about our different experiences as people of color living in the United States of America. I am grateful to Keeya for taking time to speak with me and to help me to begin to learn about him and his point of view of being a citizen of the United States. I hope to be able to have more conversations with him and possibly share them with you.
*Full disclosure* he kept me on my toes and I appreciate that.

AlSpeakUp - Episode 2 - Conversation w/ Herman Veitch
Today I spoke with my friend, and Mankind Project brother, Herman Veitch. Herman is from South Africa and, for almost 5 years, has been living here in the United States. He is here to help support is his wife as she completes her PhD program at Syracuse University.
I wanted to have a conversation with Herman because we are close in age (1 year between us), yet we grew up in to different countries/two different worlds. Herman and I spoke about some of his life growing up in Africa, white privilege, racism, our similarities and differences.
Please bear with me as I work out the kinks of podcasting. Audio quality on my end is poor. Herman's audio is good. so I decided to still share the episode. Thanks for your understanding as I learn and grow.
