My Guest on Memoirs of Success Women today is Dr. Adama Kalokoh. Her parents instilled in her a deep sense of pride and appreciation for their Sierra Leonean heritage. and she hopes her mission will inspire other descendants of Africa to embrace their culture and positively impact their home country.  Dr. Kalokoh completed her undergraduate studies majoring in Public Health and her leadership led her to reach thousands of marginalized people at soup kitchens, shelters, and schools in the DC area. But her passion for Sierra Leone became a driving force. This deep appreciation led Adama to finally visit Sierra Leone in 2003, followed by three consecutive visits.  Her passion for helping others and devotion to service has elevated her to serve on many board groups impacting Sierra Leone. She is the Founder of Impact Sierra Leone, an organization founded to reduce socioeconomic challenges in Sierra Leone through empowerment, education, and building strong partnerships with the Diaspora community.  Due to her experience of volunteerism, she felt a great sense of responsibility and inspiration to become an Ambassador and Agent-of-change for young girls and women in Sierra Leone. She chose, as primary focus, to help support women and girls in rural areas because of their huge lack of resources and access to services. Her current efforts include directly supporting the Foindu Village community located in rural Sierra Leone with educational tools, clothes donations, and support for farming activities.  She launched the Seeds of Life project in March 2019 to combat hunger amongst primary school children in the village. She has committed herself to promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within her organization and doing her part to reduce poverty.  Using her passion for public health, she launched the Seeds of Life project to help over 250 primary school children access fruits and vegetables and learn about wellness. She has been honored and received recognition in Sierra Leone and the U.S as the Yonibana Brand Ambassador, Female Empowerment Entrepreneur, 2019 Yoni Excellence Diasporan of the Year, 2019 DDEA Humanitarian Recipient, chosen as a 2019 Global Goodwill Ambassador, was among the Top 100 Recognized Human Rights Defenders in the United Nations 2019 Almanac.  What a Woman!!! My guest today is Dr Kate Leeming. As an explorer/adventurer, Kate has cycled a distance greater than twice the world’s circumference and attained four world first achievements on her major expeditions; through Europe, across Russia, through Australia and across Africa. Crossing 22,040 km over ten months, Kate’s Breaking the Cycle in Africa Expedition was not only a physical quest, but an odyssey to highlight the development needs and activities of war-torn and poverty-stricken nations. Cycling through twenty countries, Kate aimed to find out what is being done to give a ‘leg up’ rather than a ‘hand out’. Kate’s latest challenge, Breaking the Cycle South Pole, will include the first bicycle crossing of the Antarctic continent via the South Pole. Preparations have included polar training expeditions in Svalbard, Northeast Greenland, Arctic Canada and Iceland. Since 2018, Kate has completed preparatory expedition for Breaking the Cycle South Pole on every continent (except Antarctica). These challenging expeditions were either in polar conditions, on sand or at altitude. She has recently returned from South America where she completed the final expedition of the series, a 4400km altitude journey called The Andes, the Altiplano & the Atacama. Integral with Kate’s journeys is the Breaking the Cycle experiential education programme that aims to help prepare our future leaders to make informed decisions to create a better world. When not on an expedition, Kate works as a professional at The Royal Melbourne Tennis Club. Kate has won 5 Australian Open singles titles and six doubles titles and been ranked as high as World No.2 woman. (Real tennis is the original game of tennis.) In this episode of Memoirs of successful woman, Global Women's Empowerment Coach Annie Gibbins interviews Sharmin Smith. Sharmin Smith is the author of Taming The Tida, a fictional life story about politics, religion and a reality TV show called "Who Wants to be President?".  This novel was written in 2014 and published in January of 2015, any similarities to actual events were unplanned and led Sharmin to launch a campaign for President in June of 2018.   While unsuccessful, it was very educational. She shares her experiences in hopes of shining light into the darkest corners of our society.  TAMING THE TIDA“ TIDA is a Hawaiian word; Aggressive Female Personality Who Will Fight and Stand Up For What She Believes In!” Sharmin is a military brat & spouse, was born in the projects and today lives in a mansion. Her parents were violent alcoholic pedophiles & her mother was a pro with a coat hanger. She had terminated multiple pregnancies and not all her own. She tried several times to terminate Sharmin's, unsuccessfully. Sharmin is pro-choice because she knows what it’s like to be born to a mother who doesn’t want you, and a father who wants you for all the wrong reasons. She supports the death penalty for pedophiles & believes that if we shine a light in the darkest corners of our society we can end this nightmare in our lifetime. As for the environment, we do not fully understand the continental drift or when the next massive land shifts are coming. We are not remotely prepared for the pain and death that follows. Sharmin wants everyone to know that we have a rare opportunity right now to address our societal issues so that we ensure what survives is humanity. We absolutely cannot have pedophiles, rapists, & murderers heavily armed when real mayhem breaks loose. Sharmin was a homeless single mom, bill collector, and mortgage underwriter, and wants her hands on the US budget. She knows exactly what it takes to crawl from one location to the other! After almost 20 years in financial services, she IS confident on how to slow the banksters roll. Sharmin wants a chance to impress you as a solid 2020 Presidential Candidate. Our election system was always designed so that a write-in candidate could win. The best way to show the parties that they do not control our country is to elect someone from outside the parties.
