Mindset makeover part 2

Mindset makeover part 2

What is Spiritually minded?

4152 pneumatikós (an adjective, derived from 4151 /pneúma, "spirit") – spiritual; relating to the realm of spirit, i.e. the invisible sphere in which the Holy Spirit imparts faith, reveals Christ, etc.

The acts of a life dedicated to God and approved by him, due to the influence of the Holy Spirit. The inner-perspective (influence of the Holy Spirit) that shows itself in a life dedicated to God and approved by him. When the Holy Spirit shapes your opinion on money, marriage, materialism, ministry etc… you are being spiritually minded.

Moved by the Spirit; of the mind, to be moved inwardly, prompted, ὑπό πνεύματος ἁγίου, 2 Peter 1:21, Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 5:18-19

5342 phérō ("allied to German fahren, Scotch bairn, 'bear,' " J. Thayer, Curtis) – properly, to bear, carry (bring) along, especially temporarily or to a definite (prescribed) conclusion (defined by the individual context). See also 5409 /phoréō ("habitual bearing").

Ask and Answer the question: Are the actions of our life dedicated to God and approved by Him, due to the influence of the Holy Spirit?

Ask and Answer the question: Am I moved to action by the influence of the Holy Spirit, which results in the fruit of the spirit?

The Fruit of the Spirit is: 2590 karpós – properly, fruit; (figuratively) everything done in true partnership with Christ, i.e. a believer (a branch) lives in union with Christ (the Vine). By definition, fruit (2590 /karpós) results from two life-streams – the Lord living His life through ours – to yield what is eternal (cf. 1 Jn 4:17). Metaphorically, that which originates or comes from something; an effect, result; equivalent to, work, act, deed:

Galatians 5:22-23

The nine attributes are:

Love -  In the NT, 26 (agápē) typically refers to divine love (= what God prefers)

Joy - 5479 xará – properly, the awareness (of God's) grace, favor; joy ("grace recognized").

Peace - 1515 eirḗnē (from eirō, "to join, tie together into a whole") – properly, wholeness, i.e. when all essential parts are joined together; peace (God's gift of wholeness).

Longsuffering - 3115 makrothymía (from 3117 /makrós, "long" and 2372 /thymós, "passion, anger") – properly, long-passion, i.e. waiting sufficient time before expressing anger. This avoids the premature use of force (retribution) that rises out of improper anger (a personal reaction).

What is Carnally minded?

4561 sárks properly, flesh ("carnal"), merely of human origin or empowerment. 4561 (sarks) is generally negative, referring to making decisions (actions) according to self – i.e. done apart from faith (independent from God's inworking). Romans 14:23

"But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin"

Thus what is "of the flesh (carnal)" is by definition displeasing to the Lord – even things that seem "respectable!" In short, flesh generally relates to unaided human effort, i.e. decisions (actions) that originate from self or are empowered by self. Paul taught that leaders must not be self-will

" For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money"

This is carnal ("of the flesh") and proceeds out of the untouched (unchanged) part of us – i.e. what is not transformed by God.

note that 'flesh' signifies the entire nature of man, sense and reason, without the Holy Spirit"

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God..

Mindset make part 1

Mindset make part 1

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Mindset 5426 phronéō(from 5424 /phrḗn, "the midriff or diaphragm; the parts around the heart," J. Thayer) –  It plays a major role in breathing, as its contraction increases the volume of the thorax and so inflates the lungs. properly, regulate (moderate) from within, as inner-perspective (insight) shows itself in corresponding, outward behavior.

“The way you perceive the world from within, will dictate how you live outwardly”

“Mindset goes beyond just what you perceive; it is manifested in what you pursue.”

Mindset directs one's mind to a thing, to seek or strive for; to seek one's interests or advantage Meaning what I perceive as best for me; to be of one's party, side with him. being personified), to pursue those things which gratify the flesh, ... the Holy Spirit.

Ask and answer the question: what am I seeking or striving for? Pleasing God or gratifying my fleshy desire.

Ask and answer the question: what do I perceive as best for me in a given situation, circumstance or decision? The answer show a desire to gratify the flesh,.....the Holy Spirit

Ask and answer the question: who am I siding with God’s word and the Holy Spirit or myself and my feelings, desires and thoughts?

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

5427 phrónēma (a neuter noun) – properly visceral opinion (the innermost, personal level of opinion); inner perspective as it determines (regulating) outward behavior, especially as it bears on the outward results (i.e. of exercising personal insight). Note the suffix, -ma, pointing to the result of the verbal idea. See 5429 (phronimos). ‘

Ask and answer the question: Does my innermost personal level opinion agree with God’s will for my situation?

Does my inner-perspective bear out in godliness and obedience towards God’s word and Holy Spirit?

“Your inner-perspective is manifested in your outward behavior, and your inner-opinion is manifested by your verbal ideas”

Mindset influences “What you do and what you say”

“Mindset is the process that determining your inclination or  purpose”

What is my gut-insight concerning the events, circumstances and decisions facing me? Does this inclination produce obedience to God’s word and a knowledge of God's will?

The Council at Jerusalem Acts 15

The Council at Jerusalem Acts 15

In Acts 15:14-18, the Jerusalem position reiterated the manifestation of salvation by grace: “God had taken from among the Gentiles a people for himself.” The exegetical proof along with the experiential proof underlined how God actually saved; he had taken for himself a people from among the uncircumcised Gentiles.

Council of Jerusalem, a conference of the Christian Apostles in Jerusalem about 50 CE that decreed that Gentile Christians did not have to observe the Mosaic Law of the Jews. It was occasioned by the insistence of certain Judaic Christians from Jerusalem that Gentile Christians from Antioch in Syria obey the Mosaic custom of circumcision. A delegation, led by the Apostle Paul and his companion St. Barnabas, was appointed to confer with the elders of the church in Jerusalem.

The ensuing apostolic conference (noted in Acts 15:2–35), led by St. Peter the Apostle and St. James, “the Lord’s brother,” decided the issue in favour of Paul and the Gentile Christians. From this time onward, Gentile Christians were not bound by the Levitical ceremonial regulations of the Jews, except for the provisions of the so-called apostolic decree: abstention “from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication” (Acts 15:29). The Council of Jerusalem thus demonstrated the willingness of apostolic leaders to make compromises on certain secondary issues in order to maintain peace and unity in the church.

How to Respond to Those Who Are Grieving

How to Respond to Those Who Are Grieving

How to Respond to Those Who Are Grieving  Caring for our grieving family and friends   Here are 19 things Amen Clinics patients said they wish people would stop saying to someone who’s grieving.  1.“How are you doing?” 2.“You’ll be okay after a while.” 3.“I understand how you feel.” 4.“You shouldn’t feel that way.” 5.“Stop crying.” 6.“At least he’s in a better place; his suffering is over.” 7.“At least she lived a long life, many people die young.” 8.“She brought this on herself.” 9.“Aren’t you over him yet, he’s been dead for a while now.” 10.“There is a reason for everything.” 11.“God’s in charge.” 12.“She was such a good person; God wanted her to be with Him.” 13.“Just give it time. Time heals.” (Time does not heal, taking the right steps heals.) 14.“You’re young; you can still have other children.” 15.“You’ll do better next time in love.” 16.“It was just a dog or cat. You can get another one.” 17.“Stay busy. Don’t think about it.” 18.“You have to be strong for your spouse, children, mother, etc.” (This diminishes their need to take time to heal.) 19.“Just move on.”  12 Things to Say to (or Do for) a Grieving Person Based on what thousands of Amen Clinics patients have said, here are better ways to communicate and connect with someone who’s in mourning.  1.“I’m so sorry for your loss.” 2.“I wish I had the right words. Please know I care and I’m here for you.” 3.“You and your loved ones are in my prayers.” 4.can’t imagine how you feel.” Then be quiet and let them tell you about their feelings. “I can’t imagine how you feel. When I lost my father I felt …..” Then listen without judgment or criticism. “I’m here for you.” Better yet, if there is something specific they need, ask if you can do it for them. Ask if you can make phone calls or send emails on their behalf. “Can I go to the funeral?” This is often an important sign of support. “Want to talk about what happened?” Many people avoid this question, but it helps the griever to explain it, if they desire, and having a compassionate ear can help them process it more accurately. Just be present. Share a memory about the person who’s gone. Be empathetic. It’s okay for you to show your feelings. Continue connecting, even after a few months. Many people are inundated in the first few weeks, but they need support long after the funeral is over.

Wednesday Word Study Was Peter possessed, oppressed, or simply influenced by Satan?

Wednesday Word Study  Was Peter possessed, oppressed, or simply influenced by Satan?  The answer will shock you; it's none of the above. 4566 Satán – Satan, the same fallen angel as 4567 /Satanás ("the adversary, opposer," see there 2. a Satan-like man: Matthew 16:23; Mark 8:33Peter was not possessed, oppressed or influenced by Satan Peter was a satan in the sense of an adversary to the purpose of Jesus through being carnally minded. Paul tells us that the carnal mind is not and cannot be subject to the law of God and is in perpetual opposition to the law of God. Romans 8:5-8. Jesus rebukes Peter because he is concerned with the things of men not the things of God. So how does Jesus deal with Peter? Does he cast the devil out of Peter? Bind Peter? He corrects Peter and then teaches him. Matthew 16:24-25. This was not a demon, this was, error and the bible is clear that we can be taken captive to do the will of Satan not because of possession but through self deception or by false teaching. 2 Timothy 2:24-26. Taken captive 2221 zōgréō  Was Judas possessed, oppressed or influenced by the Devil? Judas was possessed by Satan himself. Satan entered Judas in order to act through him, Luke 22:3; John 13:27. So how does Satan get into Judas? Judas was exactly what Jesus meant when he said you can’t serve God and mammon. Judas’ greed caused him to choose money over the Messiah therefore denouncing Jesus and devoting himself to money. Matthew 6:24, 1 Timothy 6:10. Ananias and his wife Sapphira did the same, although Satan doesn’t enter them He was able to influence them. Wednesday word Study Binding and Loosing

Wednesday word Study Binding and Loosing

Wednesday word Study Binding and Loosing

Binding and loosing is originally a Jewish Mishnaic phrase also mentioned in the New Testament, as well as in the Targum( an ancient Aramaic paraphrase or interpretation of the Hebrew Bible). In usage, to bind and to loose simply means to forbid by an indisputable authority and to permit by an indisputable authority. Deo 1210 Bind: I declare it to be prohibited and unlawful. by a Chaldean and rabbinical idiom, to forbid, prohibit, declare to be illicit: Matthew 16:19; Matthew 18:18. 3089 Luo loose: declare lawful, To permit, allow: Matthew 16:19; Matthew 18:18   These terms are used in two places. The first in reference to access to the kingdom through the knowledge granted by Jesus. And the 2nd relates to the forgiveness and reconciliation between Christians. The apostle’s never pray binding or loosing prayers; they just exercise the authority given in the name of Jesus and by the presence of the Holy Spirit.  What does it mean to pray in my name? To gather, to pray, in the name of Jesus is to acknowledge the Lordship and kingship of Jesus with respect to his character and mission . Thus, to pray in the name of Jesus is to bring all the truth of Jesus's life and ministry to bear on the issue you are bringing to God in prayer.   Where did the teaching of binding and loosing originate in the church? 1845 eksorkistḗs – an exorcist; a person expelling demons, adjuring (binding) them by using oaths ("God-formulas," religious incantations).  He who exacts an oath of another.  an exorcist, i. e. one who employs a formula of conjuration for expelling demons: Acts 19:13 nkjv used often in the church Fathers. Binding and Loosing was practiced by some early Church Fathers. For example, binding Satan was a part of the exorcistic process as early as the third century and was commonly carried out before a catechumen( a Christian convert under instruction before baptism) was baptized. Though the terms "bind" and "loose" are not frequently used among the early church fathers, the concept is inherent in the use of the more frequent term "exorcism." Rather than speaking of binding and loosing as separate acts, they viewed both as a part of the exorcistic process. Nevertheless, several church fathers Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLrZriCc01bnp0Amb2gXDtQ/join Ask your bible question https://www.quora.com/profile/Anthony-Wilson-973/Subscribe  https://www.youtube.com/c/AnthonyWilson73Promote your channel https://veefly.com?referrer=101982

[2218 (zygós) unites two elements to work as one unit, like when two pans (weights) operate together on a balance-scale – or a pair of oxen pulling a single plough.] hence, the name is so transferred to the commands of Christ as to contrast them with the commands of the Pharisees which were a genuine 'yoke'; yet even Christ's commands must be submitted to, though easier to be kept:

The Lost Books of the Bible part 1

The Lost Books of the Bible part 1

The Lost Books of the Bible

Books Mentioned, But Not Found, In The Bible

There are twenty-two books mentioned in the Bible, but not included.  The variation is due to possible double mentions using differing names for the same book.

Book of the Covenant

Exodus 24:7  And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

There are those that believe the Book of the Covenant is found in Exodus chapters 20 through 23. There are no authoritative sources for this text.

Book of the Wars of the Lord

Numbers 21:14  Wherefore it is said in the book of the wars of the Lord, What he did in the Red sea, and in the brooks of Arnon,

Certain sources believe that this is to be found by drawing text from several Old Testament books.  There are no authoritative sources for this text.

Book of Jasher Here   We have the entire book on this site Here

Joshua 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

2 Samuel 1:18 (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.)

There is a book called “The Book of Jasher” today, although it is not the same book as mentioned in the Old Testament. It is an eighteenth-century forgery that alleges to be a translation of the “lost” Book of Jasher by Alcuin, an eighth-century English scholar. There is also a more recent book titled “The Book of Jashar” by science fiction and fantasy writer Benjamin Rosenbaum. This book is a complete work of fiction.

Another book by this same name, called by many “Pseudo-Jasher,” while written in Hebrew, is also not the “Book of Jasher” mentioned in Scripture. It is a book of Jewish legends from the creation to the conquest of Canaan under Joshua, but scholars hold that it did not exist before A.D. 1625. In addition, there are several other theological works by Jewish rabbis and scholars called “Sefer ha Yashar,” but none of these claim to be the original Book of Jasher.

In the end, we must conclude that the Book of Jasher mentioned in the Bible was lost and has not survived to modern times. All we really know about it is found in the two Scripture quotations mentioned earlier. The other books by that title are mere fictions or Jewish moral treatises.

The Manner of the Kingdom / Book of Statutes

1 Samuel 10:25 Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the Lord. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.

The “Law of the Kingdom,” which Samuel rehearsed before the people, and which he wrote in a roll, and laid solemnly up and preserved among the State archives, related to the divinely established right and duties of the God-appointed king, and also clearly set forth the limitations of his power. The vice-gerent on earth of the invisible King could be no arbitrary despot, unless he transgressed plainly and openly the “manner of the kingdom” written in a book, and laid up before the Lord by Samuel.

Book of Samuel the Seer

1 Chronicles 29:29  Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

Nathan the Prophet

1 Chronicles 29:29  Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,

Who are the Twelve apostles of the Lamb?

Who are the Twelve apostles of the Lamb?

The Twelve apostles of the Lamb (Revelation 21:14)

"And the wall of the city had twelve foundations,

and on them were the twelve names

of the twelve apostles of the Lamb." (Revelation 21:14)

It is no coincidence that there are twelve apostles. Jesus clearly intended it to be so! The 12 apostles are to be seen as the progenitors of The church, Paul tells us,  "the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets" (Ephesians 2:19-20).

We see the number 12 throughout Revelation relating to both the apostles and the tribes of Israel:

The Woman clothed with the sun has a crown of 12 stars
(Revelation 12:1). The names of the 12 tribes of Israel are inscribed on the 12 gates to the city (Revelation 21:12) The 12 foundations of the city wall bear the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb (Revelation 21:14). The 12  foundation stones,The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones ( Revelation 21:19-20) There are 12 gates of pearl, one for each tribe (Revelation 21:21). The trees along the banks of the river bear 12 kinds of fruit (Revelation 22:2).

So who are the twelve apostles of the Lamb? To whom does the "twelve apostles of the Lamb" refer? Is this the original twelve apostles? or does Mathias replace Judas? Or does this refer to someone or something else?

Paul and Barnabas are both called apostles in the book of Acts:

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out  -Acts 14:14 (NKJV)

The Holy Spirit had set them apart earlier in Antioch:

1 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. -Acts 13:1-3 (NKJV)

So neither Paul nor Barnabas were self-proclaimed apostles but were set apart by the Holy Spirit. Note that even though Acts refers to them as apostles, there is still a distinction made between them and the other twelve apostles, with one example being in Acts 15 where Paul and Barnabas go back to Jerusalem to consult with the apostles and elders about the matter of circumcision:

She asked me, "Can I speak with you about Mother God and show that Jesus already returned? At Walmart, my wife and I was approached by two ladies. They used the bible to teach me about mother god. They told me that Jesus has already been resurrected, and wanted to invite me to their bible study so they could show me the prophesies that mention this.   This video is my personal testimony and opinion on how this religion uses the Bible out of context to dismantle what you believe and get you to believe that they are THE ONLY Church that knows the truth about God.  After doing further research, I found that they heavily recruit on college campuses and if the kids in your family are in college or on the way to college, you might want to warn them about these people. Once they have them, it may be too out-of-reach for you to get him back.

What Does The Bible Say About Church Discipline

What Does The Bible Say About Church Discipline

What Does The Bible Say About Church Discipline Church Discipline Ultimate authority resides in Christ, who authorizes the church to use it as needed. (Matthew 18:17) And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector. Corrective discipline is for: Troublemakers and those who sow discord. (Romans 16:17)”Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.” The unruly and disorderly. (1 Thessalonians 5:14) “ Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.” Those who disobey the great doctrines of the faith. (2 Thessalonians 3:13-14) “But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. 14 And if anyone does not obey our word in this [a]epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed.” Those who deny the great doctrines of the faith. (1 Timothy 6:3-5)”  If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the [a]doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. [c]From such withdraw yourself.” Those who are devise in the church Titus 3:10 ”If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them.” Those who engage in sex immorality and refuse to repent 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 Those who blaspheme the things of God. 1 Timothy 1:20Procedures in discipline Arrange a private meeting with the offender. (Matthew 18:15) If a private meeting fails, meet with them and several witnesses. (Matthew 18:16) Admonish and warn them. (Titus 3:10) As a final resort, bring the matter up to the whole church. (Matthew 18:17) Remove their membership, and avoid them. (Romans 16:17) Be ready to forgive them when repentance occurs. (2 Corinthians 7:9-11) Purpose of discipline To maintain the standards of the church to a watching world. (Matthew 5:13-16) To keep sin from spreading throughout the church. (Joshua 7:3); (1 Corinthians 5:6-7) Help the guilty person find their way to God. (2nd Corinthians 2:6-8) To escape God's judgment upon habitually sinning saints. (1 Corinthians 11:30)  Disciplining a leader in the Church Qualifications for a Elder/Overseer/pastor/Bishop 1Timothy 3:1-8, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4 Discipline 1 Timothy 5:19-20 Actions taken: investigate, gather two or three witnesses, rebuke1651 elégxō – properly, to convince with solid, compelling evidence, especially to expose (prove wrong, connect) By word to reprehend severely, chide, admonish, reprove. By deed in front of the Church. Note show no partiality. When should a leader be sat down? If they are rebuked before the congregation, warned by the leadership one and then twice they are to be rejected and removed. Can a fallen leader come back? Yes after he has shown the fruit of repentance he can be restored Luke 3:8, Galatians 6:1,2. How long must a leader wait to begin restoration? The qualification of an elder must be seen in his life and if two or three agreed he can return. 1 Timothy 3:1-8, Matthew 18:19-20 When should the authorities be brought into church discipline? Local or government authorities are reported to when criminal acts are committed, raped, murder, molestation, fraud etc.. Romans 13:1-8 otherwise the church must handle its discipline through the scripture and wise leaders. 1 Corinthians 6:1-5

What is prayer according to the bible? #pray, #howtopray, This probably seem like a trick question. However, in this video I'm going to share somethings about prayer that are not so obvious. 4336 # (from 4314 /prós, "towards, exchange" and 2172/euxomai, "to wish, pray") – properly, to exchange wishes; pray – literally, to interact with the Lord by switching human wishes (ideas) for His wishes as He imparts faith ("divine persuasion"). Accordingly, praying (4336/proseuxomai) is closely inter-connected with 4102 /pístis ("faith") in the NT. See: Ac 6:5,6,14:22,23; Eph 6:16-18; Col 1:3,4; 2 Thes 3:1,2; Js 5:13-15; Jude 20. Corey Minor says Mike Todd is not Saved Is it possible to gain “little gems” from preachers with false doctrine, or should you avoid them? Lately, I've heard about a lot of preachers supposedly preaching false doctrine and Christians are warned to stay away from them. However, it's worth considering that we may be the ones in error? Shouldn't we also be open minded enough to consider the things they say and cross check it with scripture? How many errors/mistakes are a pastor allowed before we disqualify them?

I Still Tithe Even Though I'M Not Required To!

I Still Tithe Even Though I'M Not Required To!

I Still Tithe Even Though I'M Not Required To!
Giving of ourselves and our money is the mark of generosity in the New Testament. Tithing is primarily an Old Testament standard; the Christians goal is to be as generous as they can. Our giving must start with giving ourselves to God and then to the people and purposes of God. Giving should be personal, planned, proportionate, and plentiful. The bible teaches that the believers gave weekly (read 1 Corinthians 16:1,2) which suggest that they planned to give. They would look at their personal finances and give proportionately to what they have earned. They also gave plentifully from what they had the ability to give and sometimes beyond their ability. Ultimately giving like forgiveness is a response to God. We forgive because we have been forgiven and we give because God gave his best, his only son. Join this channel to get access to perks:

How To Know the Will of God And follow it

2307 thélēma (from 2309 /thélō, "to desire, wish") – properly, a desire (wish), often referring to God's "preferred-will," i.e. His "best-offer" to people which can be accepted or rejected.
[Note the -ma suffix, focusing on the result hoped for with the particular desire (wish). 2307 (thélēma) is nearly always used of God, referring to His preferred-will. Occasionally it is used of man (cf. Lk 23:25; Jn 1:13.]Cognate: 2309 thélō (a primitive verb, NAS dictionary) – to desire (wish, will), wanting what is best (optimal) because someone is ready and willing to act.
2309 /thélō ("to desire, wish") is commonly used of the Lord extending His "best-offer" to the believer – wanting (desiring) to birth His persuasion (faith) in them which also empowers, manifests His presence etc. See 2307 (thelēma).
[Note the close connection between faith (4102 /pístis, "God's inbirthed persuasion") and this root (thel-, 2307 /thélēma); cf. 2 Cor 8:5-7 and Heb 10:36-39

Miming The Message with Pastor Joe Hill DTB

Miming The Message with Pastor Joe Hill DTB

Miming The Message with Pastor Joe Hill DTB The art form of Gospel Mime is a unique praise and worship practice within the African American Church community that combines popular gospel music with the theatrical medium of miming. One of the most recent forms of praise song and dance to emerge in Black congregations nation-wide, Gospel Mime was formally introduced into worship services in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the early 1990s. Whereas traditional gospel performances are structured around live vocal and instrumental performances, Gospel Mime blends non-verbal communication with pre-recorded gospel music. As a ministry, Gospel Mime expands the line of liturgical song and dance, which has been an important part of Black Christian worship services since the 1970s, and has sparked debate about the role of dance and the body in worship practices. This thesis seeks to historicize Black gospel performance within the framework of an African American music continuum in order to locate Gospel Mime as a nationally mediated and popularized circuit of Black expressive culture that produces meaning—both celebrated and contested—about race, religion, and gender. By investigating the history, social meanings, and embodied practices of Gospel Mime as an innovative outlet for creative spiritual expression rooted in traditional gospel practice, this thesis analyzes Gospel Mime as a set of aesthetic values and practices that articulate African American identities through sound and gesture. Based on research conducted during 2015 and 2016 with Bethlehem Baptist Church, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, along with a self-identified “rogue” Gospel Mime who no longer performs in the church, this thesis serves to investigate two contrasting styles, or paradigms, of Gospel Mime: the mainstream style of anointed ministry, as it is understood and popularized within the Black church, and an alternative style that reinterprets the practice and actively acknowledges mainstream Gospel Mime as patriarchal and monolithic. By examining the performative and pedagogical ways in which the art form of Gospel Mime reappropriates entertainment outside of the African American music continuum and infuses it with innovative religious and spiritual expression, this thesis serves to highlight the social significance of Gospel Mime in the Black community. Why I Didn't Celebrate The Roe Vs Wade Overturning

Why I Didn't Celebrate The Roe Vs Wade Overturning Reasons for Abortion Roe vs Wade reaction

•Reasons in 2004. Among the structured survey respondents, the two most common reasons were "having a baby would dramatically change my life" and "I can't afford a baby now" (cited by 74% and 73%, respectively—Table 2). A large proportion of women cited relationship problems or a desire to avoid single motherhood (48%). Nearly four in 10 indicated that they had completed their childbearing, and almost one-third said they were not ready to have a child. Women also cited possible problems affecting the health of the fetus or concerns about their own health (13% and 12%, respectively). Respondents wrote in a number of specific health reasons, from chronic or debilitating conditions such as cancer and cystic fibrosis to pregnancy-specific concerns such as gestational diabetes and morning sickness.

The most common subreason given was that the woman could not afford a baby now because she was unmarried (42%). Thirty-eight percent indicated that having a baby would interfere with their education, and the same proportion said it would interfere with their employment. In a related vein, 34% said they could not afford a child because they were students or were planning to study.

In the in-depth interviews, the three most frequently stated reasons were the same as in the structured survey: the dramatic impact a baby would have on the women's lives or the lives of their other children (32 of 38 respondents), financial concerns (28), and their current relationship or fear of single motherhood (21). Nine women cited health concerns for themselves, possible problems affecting the health of the fetus or both as a reason for terminating the pregnancy.

Calvinism Vs Arminianism

My Study of Romans 9&10

While studying, God’s sovereignty, and man's free will, Calvinists frequently turn to Romans 9 as a favorite proof-text. The chapter contains multiple passages, which appear to support Calvinism. Therefore, this episode will analyze the entire chapter in its context, discussing simply what it says.

New age to New creation with Meredith Swift

New age to New creation with Meredith Swift

New age to New Creation with Meredith Swift Meredith was originally a farm girl, being raised on a sheep and dairy farm in Victoria, Australia, She now reside in the city of Townsville in beautiful, tropical Far North Queensland. Writing has always been a big part of her life – through journaling and each of her four books ( also contributed a devotional piece to a fifth book). Each of book comes from a foundation of faith and covers an aspect of her life – struggles with drugs, alcohol, depression, domestic violence, and the challenges of raising a child with special needs. All are available on Amazon and she is humble and grateful to have received many great reviews and hear of lives that have been touched by her work. Accepting Jesus into her heart and being born again has transformed her life, which had a lot of pain and sadness in it. But God has given her beauty for ashes, and He has transformed this pain and sadness through her writing. Meredith's, hope is that her books give encouragement and healing, and help people know they are not alone in their pain. Faith what you didn't to know #4102, #faith, #pistis

Faith what you didn't to know #4102, #faith, #pistis

Faith what you didn't to know #4102, #faith, #pistis,  What does the bible say about faith? How do we know what faith is according to the bible? This why we need to have access to a concordance or lexicon so that we can look up the original words. 4102 pístis (from 3982/peithô, "persuade, be persuaded") – properly, persuasion (be persuaded, come to trust); faith.  Faith (4102/pistis) is always a gift from God, and never something that can be produced by people. In short, 4102/pistis ("faith") for the believer is "God's divine persuasion" – and therefore distinct from human belief (confidence), yet involving it. The Lord continuously births faith in the yielded believer so they can know what He prefers, i.e. the persuasion of His will (1 Jn 5:4).  [4102 (pistis) in secular antiquity referred to a guarantee (warranty). In Scripture, faith is God's warranty, certifying that the revelation He inbirthed will come to pass (His way).  Faith (4102/pistis) is also used collectively – of all the times God has revealed (given the persuasion of) His will, which includes the full revelation of Scripture (Jude 3). Indeed, God the Lord guarantees that all of this revelation will come to pass! Compare Mt 5:18 with 2 Tim 3:16.]  1. The root of 4102/pistis ("faith") is 3982/peithô ("to persuade, be persuaded") which supplies the core-meaning of faith ("divine persuasion"). It is God's warranty that guarantees the fulfillment of the revelation He births within the receptive believer (cf. 1 Jn 5:4 with Heb 11:1).  Faith (4102/pistis) is always received from God, and never generated by us. Get up!!! Motivation based on Joshua 7

After such a wonderful experience at Jericho, chapter 7 is surprising to say the least. Suddenly we are presented with a series of failures that stand in striking contrast to the victories of the past six chapters. But how instructive this is if we only have the ears to listen to the message of this chapter. The thrill of victory was so quickly replaced with the agony of defeat. Here is the story of life and one we must learn to deal with in our daily walk because this passage is so typical of most of us. One minute we can be living in victory—the next in defeat.

Faith and Works 2:14-18

Faith and Works 2:14-18

Hi to everyone out there welcome to the “love thy nay bor” podcast I’m your host Anthony Wilson. I’m a father, husband, author, preacher and teacher of God’s word. I love reaching out and connecting with people of all backgrounds. Please join me every week for engaging conversation. https://anchor.fm/anthony-wilson/messageIn this video James affirms (James 2:14-18) that deeds (or actions) are the byproduct of a living faith. Works do not justify us or make us righteous before God, nor are they the means to salvation. Rather, our deeds are the fruit that grows from one who is obedient to God’s commands and transformed by His grace. Our task is to answer the question of is faith without works dead? It takes faith to please God but grace empowers us to live out our faith. True faith produces action, and actions/activity is the sign of life.   What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.  18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. True faith means our hearts have been changed, and a changed heart is demonstrated through action. Faith with no demonstrable action is no real faith at all. It's dead, James tells us, like a body without a spirit. Agapao Short

Agapao Short

The Agapao Short highlights Biblical love , Real love is not just warm affection, hugs and kisses. Live through Christ, embracing God's will choosing His choices and obeying those choices by his power!  25 agapáō – properly, to prefer, to love; for the believer, preferring to "live through Christ" (1 Jn 4:9,10), i.e. embracing God's will (choosing His choices) and obeying them through His power. 25 (agapáō) preeminently refers to what God prefers as He "is love" (1 Jn 4:8,16). See 26 (agapē).  With the believer, 25 /agapáō ("to love") means actively doing what the Lord prefers, with Him (by His power and direction). True 25 /agapáō ("loving") is always defined by God – a "discriminating affection which involves choice and selection" (WS, 477). 1 Jn 4:8,16,17 for example convey how loving ("preferring," 25 /agapáō) is Christ living His life through the believer.  #agapao #biblical love, #real love, Join the support team  #support, #subscribe, support  https://anchor.fm/anthony-wilson/supportwebsite  https://thelovethynayborpodcastnetwork.wordpress.com/Discord Anthony Wilson#8762Email  lovethynaybor@yahoo.com $awilson2273

What is Love According to the Bible

What is Love According to the Bible

thelovethynayborpodcastnetwork.wordpress.com/ www.linkedin.com/in/anthony-wilson-85233176/ .https://anchor.fm/anthony-wilson/support #support, #subscribe, #connect, Welcome to the love thy nay bor podcast network. This is a video based on our churches declaration statement. To asking and answering the question " #whatislove according to the bible" we must look at the term in its original literary contexts. Our modern terminology for loving does not capture the historical biblical idea that is being conveyed in the Greek language. Here’s the word study of “ Loving” 25 #agapáō, – a verb properly, to prefer, to #love, for the believer, preferring to "live through Christ" (#1 Jn 4:9,10), i.e. embracing God's will (choosing His choices) and obeying them through His #power . (agapáō) preeminently refers to what #God, prefers as He "is love" (1 Jn 4:8,16). #agape is the Noun feminine. With the believer, #agapao, ("to love") means actively doing what the Lord prefers, with Him (by His power and direction). True /agapáō ("loving") is always defined by God – a "discriminating affection which involves choice and selection". 1. Introduction (00:00-3:29) 2. The Definition of Love according to the bible (3:30-6:30) 3. The Explanation of Biblical love (6:40-9:30) 4. The conclusion of what Love is according to the Bible (9:33-15:10)

2169 euxaristía (from 2170/euxáristos, "thankful for God's grace") – properly, thankfulness (thanksgiving) – literally, "the giving of thanks for God's grace." See 2168 (euxaristeō).

Prayer the great exchange word of the day!

4336 proseúxomai (from 4314 /prós, "towards, exchange" and 2172/euxomai, "to wish, pray") – properly, to exchange wishes; pray – literally, to interact with the Lord by switching human wishes (ideas) for His wishes as He imparts faith ("divine persuasion"). Accordingly, praying (4336/proseuxomai) is closely inter-connected with 4102 /pístis ("faith") in the NT. See: Ac 6:5,6,14:22,23; Eph 6:16-18; Col 1:3,4; 2 Thes 3:1,2; Js 5:13-15; Jude 20.

Sermon on understanding prayer

Sermon on understanding prayer

What does it mean to be continuous in prayer? use this study guide to grow in your knowledge about prayer

Read 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Timothy 2:1-3

In what ways do the verses show us the need for continuous prayer?

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without _______!

Philippians 4:6-7

Be ______ for nothing, but in everything by _____ and _________, with __________, let your requests be made known to ___; and the _____ of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your _____ and ______ through Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

Therefore I exhort first of all that __________, _________, _________, and giving of thanks be made for all men,  for ______ and all who are in ________, that we may lead a _____ and _______ life in all ________ and _________.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who _______ all men to be _______ and to come to the knowledge of the ____.

The prophet Daniel was nothing if not a man of prayer. During his time of captivity in Babylon, while serving in the royal courts of Babylon and then Persia, it was his practice to pray toward Jerusalem three times a day (Daniel 6:10; see 2 Chronicles 6:38-39). We can learn from Daniel's prayer life that because prayers are answered differently we should be persistent in prayer even if our answers don't come immediately.

On one occasion, when Daniel realized that the Babylonian captivity was to last 70 years (Daniel 9:2), he prayed a lengthy prayer of confession and request for forgiveness for the Jews to God (Daniel 9:4-19). Before he even finished his prayer, the angel Gabriel arrived and said, "At the beginning of your supplication, the command went out, and I have come to tell you" (Daniel 9:23). Daniel's prayer was answered before he even finished praying.

On another occasion Daniel began praying about a vision he had received—he fasted and prayed ("mourning") for three weeks without receiving an answer (Daniel 10:1-2). At the end of three weeks of prayer a messenger from heaven appeared to Daniel to respond to his prayer. Like Gabriel in response to Daniel's previous prayer, this messenger was apparently dispatched quickly but he was delayed by a demonic opponent in the heavenly places (Daniel 10:12-13; see Ephesians 6:12). This opponent apparently sought to prevent Daniel's prayer from being answered. Only when the powerful angel Michael assisted the messenger in defeating the demon was the messenger able to make his way to Daniel in response to the prayer.

When we pray on earth we have no idea what activity is happening in heavenly places. For that reason, we should be persistent in prayer. Jesus taught as much in two different parables: one about the persistent host (Luke 11:5-8) and one about a shameless widow (Luke 18:1-8).

Prayer, Perseverance, and the presence of God With Author Rachel Bruno

Prayer, Perseverance, and the presence of God With Author Rachel Bruno

ABOUT

Rachel Bruno is a wife and mother of two young boys. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and an MBA from Pepperdine University. She had hopes of starting her own business, and everything seemed to be going according to plan, until the unimaginable happened in 2015.

Rachel had her 7 week old baby and toddler son seized by CPS when her newborn sustained critical cranial injuries while in the care of a nanny. She was evicted from her own home and had to endure a grueling court case to prove her innocence, so her children could be returned to her. Then she pursued suing the authorities who erroneously accused her and put her children through a battery of traumatic tests without parental consent. She won her case in court and was awarded 7 figures in damages.

Rachel never knew that in the United States of America, parents and children were being denied their constitutionally protected rights under the guise of “what’s in the best interest of the child.” It has become her mission to educate, and to ensure this doesn’t happen to any more families. Her hope is that the laws tied to financial incentives be de-funded.

This experience made Rachel reconsider her priorities. Today, she is a stay-at-home mom, who works part-time leading a group of young mothers called MOMs INC at her church. She is an advocate for parental rights, and is on a mission to educate and edify others who may be going through difficult times through her testimony of God’s goodness.

Defining Biblical Strongholds part 2

Defining Biblical Strongholds part 2

Context both Historically and LiteraryThe historical context is the original author and audience being addressed. As well as the original situation and/or circumstances that caused the author to write the passage. This is the historical context. Without the historical context we will not be able to properly understand the situation or circumstances the author and their audience are facing. The literary context is the original language and use of words that the author and his audience would have understood. To understand key words we must use the strong concordance and lexicon:

Number

Word

Specific usage

General usage

ApplicationHow the original author and audience applied the revelation they received to their historical situation and/or circumstance.Response/RelateWhat is our response to the context and or how do we relate to their historical situation and/or circumstance?Exhort/EncourageWhat steps of obedience should we take and how can we exhort others to respond appropriately.
Questions that must be ask and answered when you preach or listen to preaching:

Who is the author and audience?

Where is this taking place?

When was this written (time and/or biblical circumstance)?

What is the situation or circumstance happening?

Why is this passage necessary?

How can we relate to the author or audience?

What is our response or responsibility in light of the text?

And yet, there is a commonality in our faith traditions that can help us turn away from polarization and create a greater sense of community in which our differences are honored. The Peacemaker's Path brings together wisdom from the world's major religious traditions, including Bahá'í, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Native American spiritualities, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism, showing that we have much more in common than what divides us. Through daily readings that explore the tenets, teachings, writings, and prayers of these diverse faith traditions, you will gain new insight, understanding, and connection with people from different religious backgrounds. Each day offers a reflection, scripture passages from the world's religions, questions to contemplate, a call to action, and a closing prayer. May we realize the tremendous importance of building bridges of peace in our own lives, our communities, and our world. Loving our friends is easy; loving the ""other"" will bring shalom.
