Brewers Behind the Beers at La Doña Cervecería: My Interview w/ Dicky and Britt
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dicky (Head Brewer) and Britt (Assistant Brewer) who brew the wonderful beers at La Doña Cervecería in Minneapolis, MN. While Dicky is an industry veteran and has brewed at Surly, NorthGate, and Fulton before becoming Head Brewer and part-owner at La Doña, Britt is 6 months into her brewing career. Together, they are a formidable brewing team who feed off of each other's creativity and passion for making craft beer accessible for all.
Our conversation is a mix of things from the beers that are flowing at La Doña to how brewers strive to maintain a work/life balance when they have families. It is a great conversation and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did! Cheers!

A Conversation About Sobriety in the Craft Beer Industry
I sit down with Kabel Lefto (Head Brewer at Wabasha Brewing) and Nate Schneider (Vice President of Invictus Brewing & Co-Owner of Trove Brewing) at Arbeiter Brewing to talk about how working in close proximity to alcohol can be challenging for the wellness of people in the craft beverage industry. We talk about taking a break from alcohol or becoming sober altogether. The conversation is enlightening because of Kabel and Nate's extensive experiences in and around the Minnesota craft beer industry. The industry has a responsibility in making the community that we all love and cherish a place for everyone, including those who are choosing a lifestyle that does not include alcohol. This is the first of many conversation we will be having on this podcast about wellness and shining a brighter light on the importance of mental health in the craft beverage industry. Women Who Brew: My Interview w/ Bri Smith & Sophia Missaghi
On this episode of A One Pint Stand, I sit down with Bri Smith and Sophia Missaghi who are both brewers in the Minnesota craft beer industry. Bri, the first black female brewer ever in Minnesota brews at Modist Brewing in Minneapolis and Sophia is a brewer at 10K Brewing in Anoka. In addition to being female brewers, they are both members of Brewing Change Collaborative. While we share many a laugh on this episode, Bri and Sophia also share about the struggles and inequities when it comes to being female brewers in this male dominated craft beer industry. Bri and Sophia are both strong women who have found their support systems. They share a lot of wisdom and advice to others about what it takes to persevere. It was an absolute treat to sit down with Giesebräu Bier Co.'s Erin Hutton (Owner) and Tom Giesen (Head Brewer) to chat beer. The conversation flowed as smooth as a freshly poured Hildy's Helles. We talk about how Giesenbräu came to be, the dedication to quality, and the way they bring people into their community. In fact, their Oktoberfest celebration is coming up on Oct. 6th and 7th, so plan on visiting them for that.
