Mutual Aid - A Factor of Evolution - A Radical Audiobook
We're thrilled to announce the launch of our new project: "A Radical Audiobook Series."
We aim to bring seminal works of radical thought into your living rooms, cars, or wherever you might need a dose of revolutionary ideas.
Our inaugural title in this series is "A Radical Audiobook: Mutual Aid - A Factor of Evolution by Peter Kropotkin." Initially published in 1902, this profound work invites us to explore the concept of 'mutual aid.' Jason Bayless, A Radical Guide's social justice activist and founder, guides you through this exploratory journey. His engaging narrative style and deep comprehension of radical literature breathe new life into Kropotkin's timeless essays.
As we delve into this text, we invite you to consider the historical context of the language and terms used. Part of our mission is to foster an understanding of how societal attitudes have evolved, paving the way for a more equitable future.
Stay tuned for more titles in this thought-provoking series. We're just starting, and there's much more to explore.
Thanks for joining us as we dive into these captivating explorations. Welcome to "A Radical Audiobook: Mutual Aid - A Factor of Evolution by Peter Kropotkin."

Update: 8/12/2023: Dear listeners, In this episode, I used the term "Berber" to refer to a group of people indigenous to North Africa. I have since learned from one of our engaged and thoughtful listeners that this term can be seen as derogatory. The term originated from the Greeks and has been historically associated with a negative connotation. I want to take a moment to acknowledge my mistake and clarify that it came from a limitation in my knowledge rather than a lack of respect. I'm grateful for the listener who educated me on the proper terms: "Amazigh" for singular masculine, "Tamazight" for singular feminine, and "Imazighen" for the plural form. In future episodes, and the spirit of our values, I will use the proper terms when referring to the Amazigh people. Legal Self Defense - A Radical Gathering - Day Three
A Radical Gathering: Cultivating The World We All Deserve The practice of trying to stay as safe as possible when interacting with law enforcement agents. Organizing Toward Abolition - A Radical Gathering - Day Three
A Radical Gathering: Cultivating The World We All Deserve What will it take to create a world where prisons, police, and institutional systems of harm are no longer conflated with safety and justice? This panel will explore the Defund the Police movement, the abolition of police and prisons, and the beautiful systems of community care that abolitionist organizers are building up all over the country as alternatives to the violent and carceral status-quo. We will challenge the belief that policing and caging people make communities safer, and envision and organize around new strategies and systems of restorative and transformative justice practices.
