The Glowe Accelerator Podcast with Ariana Jahja

By Ariana Jahja

This is a show that explores the role of personal transformation in changing the way we do business. We know the way businesses are traditionally structured is often so unhealthy for the people within them, yet it’s also challenging to change the way things have always been done. Here, we talk about the personal journey leaders undertake when they choose to create a new way, and what they’ve learned about how to tap into human energy as the most powerful resource in business. We also talk about what we are doing at GLOWE and invite the foremost thought leaders.

When Peak Performance is Life or Death: Take the Plunge with Josh Hildebrand

When Peak Performance is Life or Death: Take the Plunge with Josh Hildebrand

Today’s podcast is gold. I had a chance to interview Josh Hildebrand the founder of Breath and Exposure STL.  Josh is an STL-based firefighter who is a Marine who went through two combat tours in Iraq. His life was very “go, go, go” after he got back until he discovered cold exposure in Austin - It changed his life so tremendously that he decided to start his own movement in the Midwest. In this episode, we talk about:

  • The importance of “taking control of your body” through breath
  • Transformations he has seen throughout time have been guiding and coaching people
  • Benefits of cold exposure and how he uses it as a firefighter after this 48-hour shifts
  • Connecting head, body, and heart for more presence and regulation
  • The importance of “cognitive framing” in stressful events
  • Difference between cold showers and actual cold plunges

And much more!

This is an episode you don’t want to miss out on!

Running Toward More Flow: 5 Ways Exercise Induces Flow and Creativity

Running Toward More Flow: 5 Ways Exercise Induces Flow and Creativity

People often ask me what I am training for or why I like to run. My funny answer is just “life” - I find that working out is like a lab to test and train up your grit. It used to be boxing more so but now I have added running to my list of workouts.

The five reasons I run and how they support my flowy lifestyle:

1. Anxiety

3. Release of creativity and nitric oxide

4. Learning and offsetting the challenge/skill balance needed for flow

5. Visualization

6. How to start creating your own flow-infused exercise routine

How to Be a High Impact Leader Through Elevated Leadership with Ryan Gottfredson

How to Be a High Impact Leader Through Elevated Leadership with Ryan Gottfredson

Whitney Kenter the founder of Glowe Connective and I sat down with best-selling author Ryan Gottfredson last week to discuss the way business gets done!

Ryan helps leaders, executive teams, aspiring leaders, and individuals elevate (vertical development through a focus on mindsets) so that they can operate at a higher, more effective level. This is the second time I have invited Ryan to speak on my new re-branded podcast, the Glowe Accelerator podcast. Our work is very aligned and I always enjoy learning from him! I use many of his frameworks and assessments in my coaching and felt honored to have him on and to have a deeper conversation about the tools and concepts.

The first time we talked about the importance of mindsets, what they mean and how to identify what mindset lenses you have. If you have not listened to that episode yet, the link to it will be in my show notes.

This time Ryan has taken on another angle to address the obvious need to shift the conversation around what it means to be a leader during this time of work. What I love about Ryan’s work is that it is part scientific, academic, research-based and at the same time very much focuses on deeper questions that are almost philosophical in nature. What was clear to me by the end of the conversation with Ryan is that the 3.0 level leaders are few and far in between and the reasons for that are part concerning but at the same time exciting. We need to define and support leaders and people in general in creating a mind that is able to hold the shift that is happening in business. What has worked so far is not working any longer and we are ready to tackle this mission by getting clear, deep and uncomfortable in supporting leaders in elevating not only themselves but also their teams, organizations and society.

In this episode, we talk about what it means to be an elevated leader and Ryan walks us through the framework that we will be referring to during the conversations around what it will take to transform the way business gets done.

-Framework of how leaders operate and the role of Developmental Psychology in the way we develop as adults

-What it means to “elevate” our programming

-What it means to vertically develop vs. horizontally

-Cognitive and emotional sophistication and how to widen our window of tolerance when it comes to handling difficult situations

-Giving and receiving constructive criticism

-Definitions and examples of Mind 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0

-Being a dependent thinker and what that might look like vs. an independent thinker

And MUCH more!

In today’s episode, I want to introduce one of my DEAR clients who has kindly agreed to share her experience coaching with me over the last year or so.

Fast forward a year later and Michelle is not only thriving in her business but she has woken up to the power of her nervous system, her thinking, and the connection to a deeper purpose and passion in her business.

Emotional intelligence as somatic experience instead of just theory.

How she helps people understand their personality patterns and parring that knowing with specific energy practices that help to release patterns.

How compressed energies get stored in the body and what that means for us as humans.

How to tend to our emotional and energetic hygiene.

What it means to "drop into our body".

How emotional pain manifests into physical pain.

Why we can't just solve emotional problems through our head.

Healing through non-linear, biological, nonverbal modalities that can happen in quantum time.

Why just looking at hard data doesn't show the whole picture of the human experience.

Examples of quantum entanglement in real life.

Grounding ourselves in the bodily sensation of knowing.

Why doing data is necessary but not sufficient.

Binary vs Non-Binary and what it means for us.

The energetic exchange and entanglement between parent and child interactions.

How to Receive Love & Acceptance (Meditation Inside)

How to Receive Love & Acceptance (Meditation Inside)

Falling into self-doubt, negative self-talk, or judgment about ourselves is a common thing in the human condition. Always believing that we need to be better, thinner, richer, prettier, more productive….

This truth has us not feeling enough about ourselves and tragically, we might not believe we are worthy of our own love.

While there are many different ways of self-love and self-care, one of my favorite ways is meditation. When we sit in silence and meditate on self-love, it allows us to remember that we are perfect, just the way we are. That we ARE worthy of love, especially our own and that love is always available to us.

Meditating gives us permission to get vulnerable with ourselves and sit with all our thoughts and feelings, rather than resisting them.

We can feel without judgment or whatever it is that we need to feel in that moment realizing that thoughts and feelings aren’t permanent.  They come and go just like clouds.

Any feeling of unworthiness is only temporary and that we can choose a better feeling at any moment.

This past weekend I led a group of about 20 women at a self-care event ran by Coda Stl and wanted to share it with you so that you have access to it any time you need a moment to step back and reconnect and receive the light and love that’s always available to you.

5 Stages of Shifting Into a New Identity

5 Stages of Shifting Into a New Identity

Are you someone who is trying to reach a specific goal. This episode might be for you.

Reaching goals requires shifting identity. In order to create this new identity, we must first believe, so that we can take action towards who we are trying to become, or what we are trying to accomplish. Since I have thought about this quite a bit lately as I was creating the content for my current Mastermind group I wanted to share this process for you using all the things I have learned from my coaches - I broke it out into five sections for you five stages if you will and I hope you find it helpful.

1. Getting clear on your goal and who you want to become, I am talking about measurable SMART goals.

2. Digging deep into your current belief system

3. Identifying the mental loop error

4. Solving for the error and thinking on purpose, this is the place where imagination and creativity are a must. We have to believe that it's possible for us and we must start telling a new story and answering our brain every time it offers for us to believe we can't do it or why we shouldn't do it.

5. Receiving, accepting

I can't wait for you to hear this and would love to hear from you!

How Being Imperfect Can Be Our Key to Success

How Being Imperfect Can Be Our Key to Success

Perfectionism is the unrealistic striving for flawlessness and setting high-performance standards, accompanied by critical self-evaluations and concerns regarding others' evaluations of us.

In this first solo-cast, I dig into my journey with perfectionism and how it has affected me.

I also break perfectionism down into the following topics:

  • What it means to be a perfectionist
  • Why it's holding us back from becoming free and successful and sometimes even depressed
  • The root causes of perfectionism
  • How to be an imperfectionist

Mental Loops I would like to share on the topic of perfectionism are:

I care more about putting work in rather than the actual result

I care more about who I want to be rather than what other people think

I care about doing things than doing them right

I care more about success than I care about failure

I care more about the task than the timing

For the rest of the loops that will help you become an imperfectionist, listen to the full episode!

The book I reference in this episode is How to Be an Imperfectionist by Stephen Guise
