Art IN Sight
By Steve Baker and Clarke Reynolds
Both Clarke and Steve grew up in Portsmouth and art has played big parts in each of their lives. The conversations are able to delve into the location and the art in a way that gives you a small experience of being there and the same time understand that art can be experienced, in depth, for those without sight.
Underneath this we just enjoy art in a very simple way, by observing it, discussing it and enjoying it.
We hope you enjoy x

Exhibition - What does Culture mean to You? EP4
Join us on our walk around Soouthampton City Gallery.
Exhibition - What does Culture mean to you?
Everyone’s culture is unique to them, and it can mean many different things to different people. It might be playing or watching sport, singing, music or dance. It might involve books, paintings, theatre or television. It might be different histories, religion or spirituality, or the food we love, how we style our hair, or our sense of fashion and what we wear. It can be about the special or our everyday lives. It’s part of what makes us human. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy culture – it belongs to everybody and it is constantly evolving and changing.

Fabrica is a visual arts organisation based in a former Regency church in the heart of Brighton, which commissions contemporary visual art installations specific to the building.

Mohamad Hafez describes the initial motivation for his work as being a deep homesickness. Having gone to the USA from Syria in 2003 on a single-entry visa to study architecture, he realised that he couldn’t return to his home country. As a way to address his longing for home he decided to conjure it through his art by drawing on the memories and sketches he had made whilst he was there to recreate in tiny but tangible form, the architecture and street scenes of his home city of Damascus.
