Here is a sermon I preached at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on September 26, 2021. The gospel text for this sermon was Mark 9:28-50.

I went to see my doctor yesterday and was asked some interesting questions and I wanted to share some thoughts about them.

This is a sermon that I preached at First English Evangelical Lutheran Church in Victoria, TX on February 12, 2012. It was my last sermon at this congregation. It seems appropriate again today. 

Here is a sermon I preached at Peace Lutheran Church, College Station, TX on July 11, 2021. The sermon was on texts Amos 7:7-15; Ephesians 1:3-14; Mark 6:14-29. The Mark text is included so you will know why I didn't preach on it. 

Short synopsis is everyone is chosen by God and we don't get to choose who isn't allowed to be a part.

This is an audio rip from a video I recorded for the summer staff at Crosstrails ministry in Southwest Texas Synod of the ELCA on Luke 15. Yes, the whole chapter. No, it isn't super long, just 10 minutes. Not an in-depth bible study, but a devotional to guide us in our daily lives as followers of the way.

A little bit of looking at the text for Transfiguration Sunday from Mark, Mark 9:2-9, with some other scripture thrown in for good measure.

I ramble about the quote from John Alan Turner,  "It's hard to convince people that a God they can't see loves them, when a church they can see doesn't like them." And I ramble about the statement, "God loves you as you are, but God loves you too much to leave you that way." And about friends who can't worship because the "church" won't accept them.
