Christian Mysticism, I am not afraid.
ATKW leads off this podcast with a discussion around the question, "Can the fearless teach [something beneficial to] the fearful?" The question arose after a Christian presenter commented during a lesson that Christians should be cautious of Christian mysticism. As one who has received benefits and insight from studying Christian mystics, I knew there was nothing of which to be afraid. It is understood in the Christian tradition as involving union with God (www.britannica.com). In my experience, Christian mysticism has added value to my Christian journey. I am grateful to have been gifted as a seeker, one who is unafraid to learn and experience Christian traditions & practices that are not my own. Mental Health And Our Youth
Our youth have experienced significant trauma during this pandemic. They have lost family members and educational gains. They gave begun to question the consistency of life. While many adults are struggling to return to a regular lifestyle, children and adolescents are expected to be resilient and bounce back without any mental injury. This is unrealistic. Mental Health; A Faith-Based Discussion (Rewind)
Rev. Janice Davis-Lee joined me in 2020 to talk about mental health. She is involved on a daily basis working with families on faith based issues. She is a faith-based leader, a Suffragan Bishop over Washington State in the Alaska-Huron District Council (Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc). She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Masters of Business Administration in Health Management, and is a phenomenal speaker in her own right. Her passions is to inform and educate about mental health issues, especially suicide prevention. The CDC.gov says that every 11 minutes a life is lost to suicide. It is the second largest cause of death of people ages 10-34 (2019). We must keep the spotlight shining on this issue. Every life on this planet is precious.
