80. Addiction - Love is the Path with Dr. Donna Marks
In episode 80 of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast hosted by Meena Puri, titled "Addiction - Love is the Path," Meena and her guest, Dr. Donna Marks, explore addiction and the path to recovery driven by the power of love.
Dr. Donna Marks is a renowned psychotherapist and addictions counselor from Palm Beach, Florida, with over 30 years of experience. In 1989, Dr. Marks developed a chemical dependency training program at Palm Beach Community College, which has grown into a four-year degree and received the Florida Governor’s Council Award. In addition to being a certified gestalt therapist, psychoanalyst, hypnotist, and sex therapist, Dr. Marks also teaches A Course in Miracles and shares her expertise with thousands of listeners on podcasts and radio shows.
In this insightful episode, Dr. Marks shares her unique perspective on addiction and recovery. Rather than approaching addiction as merely a symptom that needs treating, Dr. Marks views addiction as a symptom of a deeper underlying issue. She explains that addiction is often rooted in a lack of love, and therefore recovery largely depends on addressing this fundamental issue.
Dr. Marks highlights the power of love to heal addiction by emphasizing the importance of self-love and self-care. She encourages listeners to recognize the power they have to transform their lives by choosing self-love and believing in their inner strength.
Join Meena and Dr. Donna Marks on this transformative episode as they explore addiction and how love is the path to recovery.

79. Emotional Healing: Regret, Resentment, Forgiveness
In this episode of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast, Meena Puri explores the transformative journey of emotional healing. She delves into the significance of addressing emotions such as regret, resentment, and forgiveness in this process.
Emotions are not just emotions, they are everything that is nonphysical in our being. Made up of emotions, thoughts, beliefs, trauma, experiences past and present – the sum total makes up this field of energy. When this energy is sick, body gets sick.
When we don’t consciously learn how to navigate and manage our emotional world, our emotions then run our life subconsciously.
Emotions are how we navigate our inner and outer world, they are the inner compass guiding us. When we get triggered, feel off, it is nothing to ignore rather to take guidance from.

78. Living from the Inside Out
In episode 78 of "Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire," Meena Puri explores the idea of living from the inside out. Meena encourages listeners to realize that the answers we seek are found within us, and we can only stray from ourselves for so long before we return home.
We all must come to the realization that the answers we seek are only found inside. We can only stray from ourselves for so long. Sooner or later, we must return home to ourselves.
I can say this with conviction.
Being born and raised in a family in India - a place of rituals and norms and the only guide seemed to be what others would say. Keeping quiet was applauded, being a martyr was admired. My journey was to shed all of it. It wasn't easy, but it was so worth it.
I often wondered who these other people were only to realize that it was nothing but a mere reflection of our own lack of courage - others were a mere crutch.
The joy and success we seek is born out of freeing our soul from the conditioning and programming so we can live a life that is internally driven and not externally imposed.
Humanity is at cross roads where the old ways are at odds with the new vision. Our soul will choose light.
A new day is dawning! Can you sense that?
I had no idea when I created Inner Compass Club, that my vision would expand so much more than what I began with. I started with emotional healing, but it's going to go way beyond that. It's a movement, an affirmation, and a commitment to oneself to live from the inside out. The true compass is within each one of us.
Inside the Inner Compass Club Membership, you will find the teachings, meditations and community. New content will be continuously added - whether it is nutrition, lifestyle, relationships, spirituality, evolution and ascension. My vision is to free all of us from the bondage of programming in all areas of our lives.
We can either chase or we can find.
End the chase! Turn Inward!

77. Trauma and Love
In episode 77 of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast, titled "Trauma and Love," host Meena Puri explores the profound connection between trauma and love.
Meena emphasizes that trauma and love are two sides of the same coin. When we have unresolved experiences that we haven't fully processed or metabolized, our longing for love often becomes a chase. We tend to seek love externally, disconnected from the love that resides within ourselves.
The unprocessed experiences occupy our subconscious mind and drain our energy, similar to undigested food. However, Meena suggests that by metabolizing our experiences, we can transform them into their highest expression, which is love. Metabolizing involves fully processing and integrating our past experiences, allowing us to release their hold on us and tap into the highest energy of love.
Join Meena Puri on this enlightening episode as she explores the intricate relationship between trauma and love, providing valuable insights and guidance on how to reconnect with love within ourselves.

76. FREE Will - is not FREE
In episode 76 of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast, titled "FREE Will - is not FREE," host Meena Puri explores the concept of free will and the factors that often hinder us from exercising it fully.
Meena highlights the fact that we often forget our inherent ability to make choices and take action in our lives. We can leave a painful relationship, quit a job that no longer serves us, or disengage from conflicts. While this may seem straightforward, many of us find ourselves unable to take these steps. Meena poses the question of why this is the case, suggesting that it may be due to fear of the unknown, lack of courage, or a combination of various factors unique to each individual.
Although we possess the freedom to pursue our desires, there is always a price to be paid. Meena emphasizes the importance of understanding what price we are willing to pay and encourages listeners to embark on an exploration of their motivations and reasons behind their choices. It is not about judgment, but rather about gaining insight into our decision-making processes. Meena asserts that what truly matters is not necessarily the choice we make, but the underlying why behind it.
Join Meena Puri on this thought-provoking episode as she delves into the complexities of free will and encourages listeners to delve deep into their motivations and desires.

75. Mind Body Connection - It's Not Just a Cliche
In episode 75 of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast, titled "Mind Body Connection - It's Not Just a Cliche," podcast host Meena Puri examines the powerful correlation between the mind and body.
It's widely accepted that a single thought can create an arousal or physiological response, but what effect do the countless thoughts we have throughout the day have on our physical symptoms and ailments? By exploring the relationship between thoughts and physical sensations, Meena sheds light on the insightful question of what thoughts may have created these physical experiences.
As challenging as it may be to navigate our non-physical inner world, Meena emphasizes that this is a meaningful process that her membership program focuses on. She encourages listeners to ask themselves what thoughts may have led to their physical symptoms and understand that this process is worthwhile and can lead to profound inner growth.
To those interested in working individually, Meena offers her individual programs and suggests that listeners join her Inner Compass Club membership program to embark on their self-exploration journey and learn about the mind-body connection.

74. Uniting Head and Heart: The Heart is a Smarter Brain
In episode 74 of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast, titled "Uniting Head and Heart: The Heart is a Smarter Brain," host Meena Puri delves into the internal struggles stemming from the constant battle between the mind and heart.
Our minds, egos or mental flow, are wired to operate solely from thinking, analyzing, and seeking external answers. However, the heart represents a deeper knowing, integrating the subtle parts of us that contain wisdom and pivoting from a place of love rather than fear.
Meena suggests that the ego is not wrong but needs direction, similar to a toddler. Its role is to keep us moving forward, but the goal is to align our mind with the heart or what she calls "Heart Based Ego." The heart has the capacity to integrate all parts of our being, shifting from living solely through the ego to thriving in a state of whole-being engagement.
Meena encourages listeners who are struggling to ask themselves how much of their difficulties come from this internal head-heart battle. She asserts that all our struggles are internal but acknowledges that navigating the inner world is challenging without proper guidance. Engaging experts can serve as a catalyst to facilitate this journey and lead individuals to deeper knowing, from which they can learn to live.
Join Meena Puri on this episode to realize the significance of unifying the head and heart in achieving a life of authentic and holistic living.

73. Six Differences in Healing and Talk Therapy
In episode 73 of the Igniting Change, Finding Your Fire podcast, titled "6 Differences in Healing and Talk Therapy," Meena Puri dives into the distinction between deeper healing work and traditional talk therapy.
This episode was inspired by a concerned mother who feared her daughter might be retraumatized through therapy, based on past experiences. Meena reassures the mother by explaining her approach to healing.
Meena highlights the following differences between healing work and talk therapy:
Understanding the Bigger Picture: When discussing the past, the focus is on gaining a deeper understanding, asking significant questions, and recognizing our energetic contributions to our experiences. This shift in perspective directs attention to personal experiences rather than dwelling on external factors.
Healing Beliefs, not Just Behaviors: The goal of healing work is not to merely change external behaviors but to address the underlying beliefs that drive those behaviors. By focusing on internal transformation, individuals experience genuine change from within.
An Organic Healing Process: Healing does not adhere to a fixed schedule. When we commit to healing ourselves, what needs attention and what we are ready to address naturally emerges.
Therapist Consciousness: The level of consciousness of the therapist significantly influences the healing process. Meena emphasizes that her work is not merely a career but a calling, rooted in her own deep inner healing journey.
Oneness of the Body and Mind: Healing work recognizes the inseparable connection between the body and the mind. Physical symptoms can be manifestations of unhealed traumas, urging us to pay attention for true healing to take place.
Moving Beyond Behavior Management: Healing work goes beyond managing behaviors; it involves deep healing that ultimately removes the need for constant management. This allows individuals to flow with ease and align with their truest nature.
Join Meena Puri on this eye-opening episode as she uncovers the distinct features of healing work and its powerful impact in transforming lives.

53. Anatomy of Energy
What to do when we feel scattered, overwhelmed and out of sorts. I share some of the things I do.
Body is the best medicine for the mind; but looking for something always outside of us, we seldom pay attention to where out thoughts/emotions land in the body. Listen to some of the ways that you can pay attention to the body and disperse the energy that has accumulated there.
Our chakras have imrints of all of our thoughts/emotions. Healing is about clearing the chakras of the old energy and fill it with light.
Ultimately, the merging and healing of all emotions happen in the heart.
This is all Ayurveda, it has solutions for our Mind Body and Soul. We are integrated beings, when we bring consciousness into everything we do, our whole mind body and soul is involved.

45. Are You Addicted to Certain Emotions?
Tune into today’s episode to learn about emotional addiction and emotional resilience. Yes, we can become addicted to feelings of fear, shame and overwhelm when we grow up in unsafe and unpredictable environments. Familiarity brings comfort and it’s this comfort can keep us stuck in the old patterns and resistant to change and to heal. We recreate the kind of relationships that bring forth the familiar feelings. We can all ask ourselves this question? Is there an emotion that I am addicted to? The way out is always awareness and doing the inner healing work. Until we heal, the patterns will repeat; another attempt from our Higher Self to grab our attention and heal this time. Feeling what we feel is an important step in the process of healing and this results in emotional resilience – an ability to be present to a wide range of emotions without being attached and moving through them.

44. Navigating our Emotional World: Avoidance and Indulgence
Ever wonder why we swing in between 2 extremes in many areas of our life? Either all in or all out, withdraw or explode. Our emotional world is no different. Avoiding unpleasant feelings is so natural that we hardly notice when we avoid. As children, when we see our parents argue, we leave or move away. This innocent way of dealing becomes our habit of avoiding all unpleasantness in our adult life. It’s not uncommon for one person to pack their bags and leave every time there is a disagreement. The experience inside, the intensity of emotions is too much to handle. But the reality is even when we “run away” the experience has already happened, it gets imprinted in our energy, our nervous system.
How to we manage our emotions and stay in the middle, noticing them, feeling them but not getting swept away with them. Tune in to today’s episode.
Be sure to register for mu upcoming Masterclass Webinar Series on Intelligence of Emotions – June 14th, 21st, 28th, register for all 3 individully.

43. Navigating our Emotional World and the Intelligence of Emotions
Listen to this solo podcast on what happens when we get emotionally triggered. We are in the kindergarten stage when it comes to navigating our emotions, it’s because we are coming from the times when we were not allowed to express our emotions, rather to tuck them away and to make everything look like all was under control when in fact, it wasn’t. We now have a great opportunity before us during this time to reach emotional maturity. This work is personal, painful and messy as all of our past trauma will show up and it actually is due to the past trauma that we get triggered in the first place.
Hence the reason for me to launch and offer my Masterclass Webinar Series on The Intelligence of Emotions. These are FREE 3 part Webinar, offered on June 14th, 21st, 28th from 12-1pm EST. Click the link below for more info and to join

I had written about my dream of a new world in my first book, “Healing Your Relationship With Food: The Ayurveda Answer” The same dream is stirring in my heart now which led to me creating a book club to discuss my second book, “Wake Up and Heal: 6 Steps to Emotional Freedom” – the bigger vision is to create healing communities so those who hesitate to reach out for help can do so with confidence and ease. What are we being called to do during this time – is a question worth asking? No act is big or small. What is we take an action in becoming part of the solution. We can start anywhere.

35. Food, Mind, Weight Loss, Spring Cleanse
Our struggles with food and weight are directly related to our relationship with food. Our relationships are a result of our mindset which in turn is a function of our conditioning and programming. Raising our level of awareness is key in getting to know our unique challenges when it comes to eating and food. Through food, we can journey into ourselves, get to know ourselves and know our own pitfalls and strengths. This knowing will help us in changing our mindset and the programming we have around food.
I also share my unique challenges and insight on food and maintaining weight that I feel my best at. This podcast was recorded on Day 3 of my water fast, doing it second time with greater insight and awareness. Maintaining our weight, staying healthy and robust is the result of becoming more aware, having deeper insights and be willing to adjust our eating according to the new awareness that we now have. This is the human journey, fun and not so much at times. Be sure to get a copy of my book “Healing Your Relationship with Food: The Ayurveda Answer” available on amazon.

34. Boundary or Wall – Exploring the Depths of Vulnerability
Clear boundaries help us create authentic connection with others. Boundaries that naturally come from a place of self-love, self-value and self-connection keep us connected to others as well. When we have healthy boundaries, we are sovereign and we recognize that others are sovereign as well. When we feel disconnected from others, it’s time to ask whether the same boundary that protected you is also isolating you? Is it a boundary or a wall? The truth is in order to break away the wall or to be vulnerable, we must feel strong enough. This is a process; it’s a freeing process as bit by bit we can remove away the layers that we have had to put on to stay safe and comfortable. To be vulnerable is not always comfortable, but we are seeking to be awake to who we are; we are seeking deep connection with ourselves and that’s not a comfortable process.
Our soul journey is the Yoga; is what we are here to do.
