This 66th episode goes goes into detail of the snafels traverse in the San Juan range of Colorado. At the same time as this traverse was being tackled hurricane Ian decimated the island of fort Myers Beach. We're wrapping up the year 2021. Peaks podcast is proud to reveal weather will be a second attempt on Everest during 2022 or not. Following the big reveal a live interview with Nichole O'Such my daughter. She will be discussing her experiences with her father various hike and climbing trips around the world. This episode is a wrap-up of the Everest Expedition some thoughts on how the Expedition went and what might occur on a future Everest Expedition. It also includes a post Everest climb over on the big island of Hawaii with my Colorado climbing group and an interesting theory on yellowjacket long-range messaging.

I pray for my team to returned safely. This has been a crazy Everest climbing season and I predict it's even going to get crazier in the next two weeks.

It's amazing after 2 years of training a few moments can change everything. NO regrets when you have done your all as my father always said. Regardless there is pain. What a great experience and I pray that my team makes it safely.

This is a description of one of the most difficult climbing days I have ever had. With the difficulties came great rewards. It was awesome to be able to climb in the ice Falls for 4 hours SOLO while the crash of ceraces crack all around me. It's unbelievable to explore this kind of terrain under a three quarter Full Moon.

This town is constructed for short 60 day window with hundreds of structures and after thousands of locals.

This quantity and is surrounded by 7000 meter height peaks, a true climbers paradise. This in a culturally interesting podcast with description of the Sacred Memorials we passed through.

This episode could be one of the most important regarding our Everest Expedition. No one should go on the holy Mt Everest without a proper Puja ceremony. From what I'm told the Sherpas will not support any individual that doesn't respect and go through the Puja ceremony process. Our ceremony takes about 45 minutes and is conducted by the local monastery Lama. The chanting ceremonial cymbal and gong echo through the monastery chamber. This episode gives a detailed look at the logistics that are necessary to complete before starting an expedition in in the Himalayan mountains specifically ascending Everest. It's amazing how many people are active on machines to support the seven points including myself and this Everest expedition it's humbling. It is so interesting to do a Q and A session with a non climber because I  have heard these questions many times and now they are answered for your listing ears. There's nothing as invigorating as delivering a Podcast with your son-in-law in a blizzard at 12000 plus vertical feet above sea level. Austin chose not to go downtown and hangout in the city but to spend a week up here helping me train and acclimatize at 12 to 13000' above sea level. Austin is one of many who have come to my side to help train for this expedition on Everest. Vinson is definitely more challenging that I had expected. Temperatures were 25 below 0 with a 25 mile an hour wind we calculate the temperature was colder than 60 below 0. Find out who makes it to the summit and what surprise we have as we approach the peak.

OK the novelty of being stranded in Antarctica is wearing off. We hear arguments from other teams that are stressing out under the pressure. Yes the novelty of being stranded is over now I am actually getting concerned.

There is absolutely nothing that can be done to get our crew out until the weather breaks. One fellow from another group is deathly L and there's nothing anybody could do except for patiently wait.

70% of all problems on a mountain occur on the way down. The 3/4 of a mile of 6th lines are a big challenge. The ALE guides sweep the mountain behind me as IM the last client on Vinson. This places crazy :)

The weather this morning for our summit attempt does not look good. Temperature is negative 35 with a 20 mile an hour when. That means it is 60ﾟ below 0 and lower. This episode is actually recorded as I am roped in climbing so you'll notice heavy breathing that's because things were extremely challenging.

This Camp is incredible. It is nestled on a saddle of a ridge the wind seems to blow all day-and-night. Snow falls intermitting throughout the day. This is truly Antartica at its best.

We advance up the mountain the monster objective becomes clearer. We have a big Day on our summit day. The camp is sparse and small. No more than 8 tents are pitted against the aggressive winds and snow.

The track to camp one is not badd with sleds and backpacks. We can see the fixlein's above in looks pretty steep from this point forward. I think the toughest part of our climb is I had of us for a sure.

We advance to camp one incredible feeling good. This environment is so isolated I've never seen anything like it in my life.

The last leg of our journey lands us at Vinson base camp. The otter has transported dress up to this camp now I feel like what really climbing.

The fellow that has created this business down here on Union glacier is quite remarkable. Mike and his partner are out of Salt Lake City Utah. We will meet him and later episodes.

If you're kinda rested name moaning about what a in tartak base is all about listen up :) basically this is an entire village and on the ice good exist for 3 months out of the year.

Union glacier is like no other place I've ever seen. We landed on a blue ice runway in a Russian plane. Papa how transport bull hotspot of a mad Max movie.

This is incredible because of a large storm heading towards Antarctica we get to leave A day early. Going through all their briefing with ALE is very interesting these guys are super Pros.

10,000 + penguins breeding on this isolated island....crazy cool.

After 30 hours of travel of arrived safely at the Southern tip of Chile and the most Southern part of Patagonia. This port city of a 100000 people is one of only 3 ports in the whole country of Chile. Is also recognized as the launch pad For Antarctic expeditions .

I'm getting super excited about departing for Antarctica tomorrow. This Podcast contains details on the logistics And the details regarding gear for heading down to climb Antarctica's highest peak Vinson.

It's hard to believe in this day and age the twentyfirst century that tribal warfare is the cause for my inability to access papa New Guinea is highest peak Carstensz. So we'll have to postpone this till later on in the season. Sell for now off to Vinson in Antarctica. This peak located at 85ﾟ South latitude is Antarctica has highest summit.

Tears were streaming down from my eyes as we worked our way across the denali summit ridge. I had a hard time keeping my glasses clear because the tears would freeze on the lens. So much emotion so many hundreds of hours of training to get here. A big thanks to all the friends and family that supported me through this new milestone in my life thank you.

30 plus below 0 Fahrenheit and were weather then denied an attempt at the summit today. Very discouraging but you got to abide by the guy's opinion. I think you'll enjoy this episode it's a challenge when you get denied.

This is a fun app aside I think you're going to enjoy it. I'm perched at the top of the Western buttress watching climbers fight their way from 14 to 17000'. When chills 30 below 0 and I'm wear and everything I got :) We're getting ready to attack this monster in the coming days.

Thrilled and exhausted at the same moment coming up the head wall and across the Western buttresses Is unbelievable. A buddy of mine and our rock star guide Mason headed out 1st across the Western buttress And in to high camp to established and set up all the tents. I am completely exhausted.

OK I know I said in previous episodes that we're leaving for I can't but as you might have surmised we are still here at 14000'. I'm starting to feel a little frustrated but as they say in mountaineering better safe than sorry.
