From Size M to XS: Carmen's Journey Through the Fight Fitness 6 Week Challenge

Carmen Merín, a 39-year-old youth worker, had always been interested in fitness and working out. However, her busy schedule often left her with little time to dedicate to her health and well-being. She found herself skipping meals and making poor food choices, which left her feeling sluggish and unhappy. It was not until she discovered Fight Fitness and their 6 Week Challenge that Carmen found a program that fit her needs and schedule. She was determined to make a change in her life, and the Fight Fitness program seemed like the perfect opportunity. At the start of the challenge, Carmen weighed in at 135.8 pounds and had a body fat percentage of 45.5%. She knew that she had a long way to go, but she was ready to put in the work. Over the course of the next six weeks, she attended regular workout sessions and followed a strict nutrition plan. When the challenge came to an end, Carmen was thrilled with her results. She had lost 6 pounds and her body fat percentage had dropped to 35.8%. Not only did she feel better physically, but she was also proud of her accomplishments. Carmen credits the Fight Fitness coaches for her success. They made sure to get to know her on a personal level, and they were always there to cheer her on and offer words of encouragement. She felt like part of a community, which made the process all the more enjoyable. Looking back, Carmen can hardly believe the progress she has made. She has gone from a size medium to an XS, which is an achievement she never thought possible. Overcoming Weight Struggles: Alan's Experience with the Fight Fitness 6 Week Challenge

Meet Alan R., a 47-year-old microbiology worker who used to lead a generally sedentary lifestyle with concerns about snacking. How A Busy Mom's Fitness Transformation Helped Her Family

Lacy had been struggling with her weight for over two years and had been unable to drop below 192lbs. Despite walking consistently and doing up to 10K steps a day, her weight wouldn't budge and she feared for her health in the long term.  

After experiencing an episode of high blood pressure, Lacy realized that she needed to make a significant change in her life. She had seen the Fight Fitness 6 week challenge advertised on Facebook for over two years, but had not felt up to the task until her energy levels returned.  In addition to wanting to lose weight, Lacy was also dealing with the debilitating pain of dysmenorrhea each month and knew that walking alone wasn't helping. 

With this in mind, she decided to invest in herself and committed to the 6 week challenge.  The results were astounding. Lacy lost 16lbs, felt stronger both mentally and physically and her dysmenorrhea was almost nonexistent by the end of the program. She also noticed more muscle definition, which was a pleasant surprise.

Kiana was a competitive provincial gymnast for 7 years before she was forced to quit due to an injury. Her continuing love for the sport pushed her to start coaching in 2012, and since then she has worked with young athletes of all levels to help them become the strongest and best gymnasts they can become.


Her growing desire to expand her knowledge of the fitness industry drove her to obtain her FIS certification from canfitpro, and she now works as a Fitness Instructor as well as a gymnastics coach. Her journey as a Fight Fit intern helped her become a more confident and competent instructor and coach, and she looks forward to helping anyone and everyone achieve their fitness goals in the future.
Kiana is currently studying Kinesiology at Western University.

Charmaine has many passions and the core of her work is helping women love the skin they’re in through simple fitness, nutrition, lifestyle and mindset upgrades that lead to massive transformation in body, mind and spirit.

After painfully struggling for 20 years with her weight, body image, and chronic rollercoaster dieting, Charmaine discovered a way to end the struggle. The solution she found allowed Charmaine to release and keep off almost 50 lbs she feels it is her duty and privilege to share what she knows with the world.

Charmaine has a university education as a Kinesiologist specializing in exercise prescription, nutrition and psychology and has helped thousands of people transform their bodies and lives since starting as a Fitness and Transformation Coach in 2010.

After a devastating snowboard crash ended Charmaine’s Olympic Level snowboard career and left her almost paralyzed in 2009, she took her passion for movement and started 2 gyms called Ironside Fitness that operated for 6 years. When the Covid19 Virus shut down happened she was forced to close the doors of Ironside Fitness and shifted to a completely virtual Fitness and Transformation Platform allowing her to service her clients in Calgary and around the world.

Charmaine enjoys all the hats she wears, including being a mom to a fabulous daughter and energetic son), a wife to an incredible husband, and an entrepreneur who is constantly evolving, walking her talk and looking for ways to help people live better lives.

Joe Jitsukawa is a serial entrepreneur, comedian, investor, and public speaker. He was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up surrounded by the growing gang culture in LA.

"I decided to change my life around when I was 18. I went from not knowing what a GPA was in high school to graduating top of my class in college, and eventually, I quit my 9-5 job to pursue my passion, which is comedy." Joe says.

Tired of the regular 9-5 job, Joe quit and co-founded JustKiddingFilms, a comedy YouTube channel in 2007. Through this channel, Joe and his team of friends shoot comedic sketches through which they teach good things "in a bad way."

Besides YouTube, Joe has also found success in different business ventures, such as apparel, consulting, e-commerce, and investing. He likes advising and investing in several businesses, including a growing matcha franchise in LA called Junbi.

"Many people believe that you can't make a living off of your passion, but I have made a career and monetized all of the things that I am passionate about comedy, hanging out with friends and family, fashion, food, etc," Joe says.

Through it all, Joe wants to be the pioneer in helping those who feel trapped in a career they do not like and help people move towards something they are passionate about.

How do people wake up, eat breakfast and work out? Breakfast first or workout first? What's a good way to stay motivated in the morning?

I have a lot of extra skin from the huge pregnancy belly. Can that be reduced with losing weight or am I stuck with it forever?

I sometime feel hungry and wondering if I should be eating more protein...there was about 5 days this week where the weight stayed the same although body fat % changed. I also found I was eating around 1000 calories (following the plan meals) and somehow this seemed too little especially with all the training.

How the do I get my rear to do this and maintain it as part of a life routine. I've lost weight and toned many times - then - change in my life happens and I have to restart from square one.

Balancing work with kids at home and getting enough movement. It’s tough to get out for walks or runs as a single parent. Working at a laptop all day and trying to help kids with academics is a challenge. I find the online workouts are great but they aren’t enough for me to see movement on the scale.

How can I manage a busy work life (65hrs work week) and still workout?

What snacks can I eat endlessly without feeling guilty? One thing salty, one thing sweet, legitimately indulgent.

What if I get sick?
