The boys are taking a trip into Arthurian legend this week with a review of John Boorman's 1981 epic, Excalibur. Jeff continues to mispronounce the name of the Cannes Film Festival, while Pat stays true to character and won't shut up about Dungeons & Dragons.

Jeff and Pat are joined by Karen to continue what is apparently a tradition of Schwarzenegger films in December. They rate and review the 1987 action-packed coke fest, Predator! And also try to guess how many squirrels they could beat in a fight.

During another one of Jeff's adventures away from the podcast, Pat brings in a new guest to cover for him. Together, they get very judgemental and condescending toward one of the greatest filmmakers of our time. It's a review of Martin Scorcese's 2010 thriller, Shutter Island!

It's the final After Hours episode of season 2, so Jeff and Pat talk about what they plan on watching during their summer break. Then, Pat stumps Jeff with a question about the best "movie within a movie".

For the final movie review of season 2, Jeff and Pat are talking about Outlaw King, a war/drama period piece surrounding Scotland's First War of Independence. It's a film that might be considered a sort of unofficial "spiritual sequel" to Braveheart. That, or a pale imitation, depending on which BBO host you ask.

This week, Jeff and Pat joined Tish MacWebber to stream a live wine review. They test how the Grinder Pinotage holds up to the BBO 3.5 star review system. They also discuss creative alternatives to corkscrews, Bryce Dallas Howard's poor choice of running shoes, and complain about their emotionally unavailable pets.

This week, Jeff is out supporting Big Pollution's plan to destroy childrens' dreams, so Pat has brought in a guest to help him with a review of the 2001 biopic, A Beatiful Mind. They discuss everything from Rogue Squadron, to Jedi: Fallen Order - and, of course, what conversation about Star Wars games would be complete without a reading of the most downvoted comment in Reddit history?

May the Fourth be with you! It's the first week of May, and Star Wars Day is upon us. This week, Jeff and Pat are getting in the spirit with a review of Rogue One. This movie has it all: a great story full of compelling characters, a bunch of X-wings and TIE fighters getting wasted, and Alan Tudyk being a sarcastic jerk.

The boys didn't have anything special carved out for this week's After Hours episode, so they just shoot the breeze about some of their favorite franchises - Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and The Walking Dead.

Jeff and Pat are crossing off a long overdue entry on their list this week, as they finally get around to talking about the buddy cop movie to top them all: 1987's Lethal Weapon. Why isn't this movie hotly debated as a Christmas movie as much as Die Hard? Does going on a murder spree really cure you of suicidal thoughts? Jeff and Pat are reunited this week, and getting back into the swing of things by talking about Terry Gilliam's mind-bending time travel thriller, 12 Monkeys. Jeff has a good time with the film's many twists and turns, while Pat - as usual - just gets confused at how time travel works.

This week Jeff and Pat finally get around to reviewing Sergio Leone's spaghetti western, A Fistful of Dollars. The film has the distinction of being the first of its genre and paving the way for foreign filmmakers to get a foot in the door in Hollywood, and it achieves all this despite a minimalist plot, an incredibly low budget, and a complete lack of train robberies.

After recording an episode on the confusing mess that is David Lynch's Dune, Pat and Jeff talk about some better book-to-movie adaptions, including The Lord of the Rings, and Jurassic Park.

Everyone grab your cheat sheets, because this week, Jeff and Pat talk about the 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune. Come listen as they scratch their heads and try to follow along with a bloated, overstuffed nonsensical space opera that somehow manages to capture none of the fun of space operas.

They discuss King's critical reception of Kubrick's take on his book, as well as some of the movie's alleged "hidden symbols", and its suspicious lack of Native American ghosts.

Jeff and Pat remember old Canadian beer commercials, and they work on fleshing out their new idea for a TV series: Orbit High. (it's basically just Breaker High in space.) 

The Belated Box Office is making its first foray into horror movies (sort of) as Jeff and Pat are talking about Tucker & Dale vs Evil. They express their appreciation for the movie's unique concept, and discuss their favourite accidental suicides.

Jeff and Pat cover a number of topics, including the Goldeneye video game for Nintendo 64, binging the Ernest movies, and negative attention from Twitch viewers.

This week, Jeff and Pat visit the James Bond franchise with the 1964 film, Goldfinger. They discuss its lasting impact on the enduring Bond franchise, while Pat tries to overcome his hatred for martinis.

On the season 1 finale of Belated Box Office, Jeff and Pat have their good friend and theme song writer Leith Fortin on to talk about the 1994 masterpiece, The Shawshank Redemption. With Leith's help, they discover the origin of the "Karen" terrorizing grocery store employees, and they solve the housing crisis by pointing out that prisons can be bought for a dollar sometimes. The Belated Box Office has made it to twenty episodes, and to celebrate Pat and Jeff are covering one of their all-time favorites. They discuss Troy Duffy's debut film, The Boondock Saints, and imbibe more than a moderate amount of whiskey. Also, we see the return of a classic segment, "Pat's Dilbert Calendar."

This week, Jeff and Pat are talking about The Shadow, the 1994 vigilante anti-hero film that's totally not a rip-off of Tim Burton's Batman. They discuss how the movie's financial failure dashed the studio's hopes of kick-starting a blockbuster superhero franchise, and Pat shares some of his extensive knowledge of the Donkey Kong Country universe.

This week, Jeff and Pat are taking on another shoot-em-up action movie with Escape from New York. Jeff expresses his dislike for movies that use a ticking clock as a plot device, and Pat refuses to include the social sciences in the term "science fiction".

Forget it, Jake - it's the Belated Box Office's 17th episode, and we're talking about the 1974 detective film, Chinatown. Pat voices his criticism of American private eye characters, and Jeff starts a fight with a head of cabbage.

This week Jeff and Pat are talking about Labyrinth, a movie riddled (get it?) with ugly goblin puppets, barely important tag-along characters, and terrible greenscreen. Was this whole project, with all its ill-advised rewrites, just a ploy by David Bowie to stay relevant with kids who don't remember his music? I mean, yeah. Pretty much. This week, Jeff and Pat go to China in the 17th or 18th century or something with the classic kung fu masterpiece, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin. They put their tenuous grasp of history on display as they praise the film for its simple yet engaging plot, and move on to briefly discuss the disappointment that is both of the 36th Chamber's sequels.

This week, Jeff and Pat are covering their first animated film - the 2012 Disney adventure, Wreck-It Ralph! Lots of off-topic video game rants ensue.

Pat and Jeff are excited to welcome their first ever guest to the podcast, Jared McLean! Jared comes on to talk about Niels Arden Oplev's 2013 action-ish movie, Dead Man Down. Opinions differ, and the merit of Colin Farrell as a leading man is discussed. Ultimately, it's agreed upon that the movie is a rip-off of Everybody Loves Raymond, and not as good as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Much like Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi teamed up to make a vampire mockumentary spoof in 2014, Jeff and Pat are teaming up to... talk about how they watched that movie. Also, they reminisce about the short-lived TV phenomenon Deadliest Warrior, and they float out the idea of a brand of ham made exclusively from virgin pigs. (the movie is What We Do in the Shadows, by the way.)

After last week's double-header of award-winning blockbusters, Jeff and Pat are doing a complete 180 with a very much not-nominated financial flop. It's Louis Leterrier's crude shock comedy/actually pretty good action movie, The Brothers Grimsby!

We made it to episode ten, and you know what that means - We finally get around to the much awaited Battle of the Exes episode! This week, Jeff and Pat are reviewing two films side by side: Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker and James Cameron's Avatar. Both films were contenders for Best Picture and Best Director at the 2010 Academy Awards, and the boys discuss who won (she did) and who deserved to win (again, she did). It's the Belated Box Office's most inconceivable episode yet! The boys discuss Rob Reiner's 1987 fantasy caper, the Princess Bride. And this time, they compare notes taken (or at least dictated) by their wives.

Jeff and Pat are talking 3:10 to Yuma, and that leads to a conversation about the logic of bandits in western films. Which, in turn, leads to a shouting match between two bad friends.

Jeff and Pat finally get around to watching James Mangold's 2007 remake of the classic western, 3:10 to Yuma! Many praises are sung about the amazing performances by the film's incredible cast, and a Russell Crowe fan club is formed.

The boys go back to 1979 to discover the beginning of a franchise with George Miller's Mad Max! They try to reconcile the expectations set from having previously only watched Fury Road, and they struggle to understand the difference between a dystopian societal collapse versus just regular 1970s Australia.

Off-topic rants during the Blade Runner recording included Alvin and the Chipmunks, confrontations with short bouncers, and Pat and Jeff's ongoing feud about the Boondock Saints franchise!

What is it that makes someone human? What drives man to endeavor to create life? Did J.F. touch that toy soldier android inappropriately? Tune in to this episode to hear Jeff and Pat answer at least one of these questions as they take on Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi noir detective film, Blade Runner!

 Jeff and Pat take on the 1991 sci-fi action sequel, Terminator 2: Judgement Day! Jeff starts a feud with James Cameron, and many questions about the mechanics of time-travel are left unanswered.

The recording of the Half Baked episode was a loooong one, and involved a lot of off-topic rants. Topics covered included the final days of HMV, comparing puppies to babies, and how binge-watching has ruined movies for all of us!

Jeff and Pat make the mistake of tackling the 1998 stoner comedy, Half Baked! They discuss whether a stoner movie can still hold up in a post-legalization society. Later, Pat expresses his displeasure with Jeff's choice of favorite voice actor.

Jeff and Pat attempt to talk about the 2020 family-friendly adventure movie, Sonic the Hedgehog! To absolutely no one's surprise, they get distracted and go on an extended rant about old video games.

Jeff and Pat get off topic during the Point Break episode. They take a few minutes to discuss the parallels of the John Wick and Taken franchises, and recall giving their family members terrible Christmas presents on purpose.
