The Candle Coven Podcast

This is a particularly fun episode if we do say ourselves. It's the Werq The World Campfire! The gals are fresh off from seeing W.T.W. at Radio City and they're talking all about it. They also get wrapped up in such subjects as: the proper way to crop a t-shirt, the legendary store Bradlees, the fact that all outfits are costumes and they get really hung up on Australia for a minute and completely forget about the Outback (sand tundra?). This week's episode details the metric vs. imperial measurement systems, the fact that being naked is illegal, tangrams, the lost art of travel agencies, and the scientific fact that everyone's middle name is Marie. Then Alaina & Jocelyn discover that the Addamses really do have family values and we should all take a page from their book. 

Yay – it's a Q&A! The Candle Coven sent in their Qs and Alaina & Jocelyn are giving the As! In this episode they delve into such topics as McDonalds as medicine, the lack of meaning behind Alaina's tattoos, the guilty pleasure candle collections they wish they could make, the holiday industrial complex, and how to scent design your space based on scent molecule volatility (PHEW!). 

The Spooky Season Campfire is still roaring! The Candle Coven voted and the 2009 camp classic Jennifer's Body made the cut. They start out the episode with a "gay vocal warmup" and seamlessly (lol) delve into such topics as Muzzy the Language Monster, some random book that Jocelyn can't even remember what it looks like or what it even is about but insists on discussing, ADD superhero Amelia Bedelia, and eventually they delve into Jennifer's Body...the movie.

The Candle Coven has spoken! This weeks Campfire came down to a vote on Instagram and the 1998 Disney Channel OG classic "Halloweentown" won in a landslide. DON'T MIND IF WE DO! Alaina & Jocelyn try to prove their thesis statements about this late 90s children's film about a paranormal realm that exists in a different dimension, but not before they discuss the burden that is having a digestive system, hot grocery tips from some guy at Trader Joe's, and how important "manspreading" is for hip health. Grab the Halloween candy and and put on your cheesiest costume – we're going to Halloweentown! 

After an almost 3 month hiatus Alaina and Jocelyn are back on the mic! Since it's been a minute, this episode is really a catch up of what they've been up to and what's to come this Spooky Season. Listen in to hear the story of one of the most harrowing night's of their lives (listener note: these drama queens are fine), hear them struggle to speak in Aussie accents that no one asked for, and how obsessed they are with looking at space (it's always space).

Deep Dives are back, baby! On this week's episode, Alaina does a Deep Dive on the incomparable 90's Icon – The Legendary Miss Britney Spears. They also discuss the fact that millennials are likely all reincarnated from the Titanic disaster of 1912 (ever heard of it?), the fact that their current style is inspired by their third grade selves, and they come to the astute realization that Pop Culture is Art History and therefore a SCIENCE. Light up the new 90s Icons and listen in!

Dearest Candle Coven, Alaina & Jocelyn are back at the Q&A game! This week they cozy up (literally, they are pretty much laying down for this entire recording) and get into such topics as the fact that sitting down hurts and we should only lie down, Alaina's need to keep everything she owns in mint condish, both the Oregon AND the Amazon Trail computer games, how to deal with passive aggressive coworkers, and the logistics behind Beauty and the Beast. They also play a pretty pitiful game of "Would You Rather?" and Jocelyn does, indeed, mention outer space again.
