In Jan. 2021 while Kevin Haselton and his wife Sandy were visiting their family in Northern California, Kevin was diagnosed with 4th Stage cancer. When Kevin underwent chemotherapy the treatment only made the cancer spread, but God was in control of everything and miraculously Kevin went into remission as God showed His power and His faithfulness to the Haselton Family. Hear Kevin's amazing testimony and learn how God never leaves us, especially in the most trying of circumstances.

Embracing New Things. Letting go of the past.
Sometimes we'd rather hang on to the past rather than let go of the familiar. Often we try to repair something over and over again instead of buying the replacement. In Cuba there are about 60,000 classic American Autos still on the roads being used daily; the kind you see in classic car shows all around the U.S. on any given weekend. Forced to hang on to their cars by Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, who in 1959 seized control of their country imposing a Communist government on them. Castro's actions resulted in sanctions and bans on all new American autos and parts resulting in never-ending repairs over the last 5-6 decades to keep vehicle transportation going in that tiny nation. A new year is a reminder that change is always with us, also that God is in the business of doing new things.

Hanging in there. Persevering during tough times.
It's easy for others to say, "just hang in there," during bad times. How do you persevere, and endure hardship? Job in the Old Testament, also mentioned in the New Testament book of James, gives us a great example. Job, "hung in there," as we would say. James called it perseverance or patience. The word of God says the last part of his life, his last years were the best part of his life.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas from Rockville Radio 7.77
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Just a short song inspired by the real meaning behind Christmas. Around the world Christmas stands for different things but the true meaning is found in the gospels of the New Testament of the Bible. My favorite book, Matthew, tells the account of the birth of Jesus in Chapter 1-2. Please read those chapters. He came to rescue you from your sins and eternal separation from God. All you need to do is accept him as your Savior.

Can you be thankful at all times? Is that possible?
Studies and research have shown that there are huge health benefits linked with gratitude. Being thankful. Since that's true shouldn't people be thankful everyday? One of the best examples is someone who lost it all, family, possessions, wealth and health and still gave thanks to God. Who was this person? Why didn't he give up?

Protecting the past instead of tearing it down. From the perspective of 2 History teachers.
Tearing down statues is nothing new, but recently here in the U.S. a group labeled as the "Cancel Culture," went on a rampage to try to remove almost every statue imaginable. The era they seemed to target most was the American Civil War (1861-1865.) On this episode, U.S. History teacher Edward (a previous guest,) and Rockville Radio 7.77 host Bill (a retired U.S. History teacher,) discuss these recent events while defending the necessity of memorials, monuments, etc. because of the shortness of the human memory and the need to prevent the tendency to repeat the same historical mistakes. Along the way the example from the book of Joshua is highlighted in which the Lord tells His people to construct monuments for future generations. (*Side note: If all memory of the American Civil War disappeared from the public memory so would the heroics of the All African-American U.S. Army unit the 54th Massachusetts profiled in the popular movie "Glory." They were honored for their bravery and courage and should not be forgotten.)

How do you feel about tests? God can help us pass the tests that come our way.
Taking tests in school is one thing but tests that come our way in real life is another story. Throughout scripture people were tested time after time. God allows testing to strengthen faith. He wants us to pass the tests and to learn from the examples in the Bible of those who faced it.

"I'll Believe it when I see it." Are you guilty of saying that, especially in matters of faith and God?
Throughout time many have said, "I'll believe it when I see it." But that is the opposite of true faith which involves believing before you see it. Two people are highlighted who both said that, in their own way, but they are prime examples of doubt and not faith. Jesus even told one of them, "Doubting" Thomas, that the people who were blessed were the ones who could believe without having to see anything.

Should you sweat the small stuff? Listen to this episode and find out.
Have you ever heard the saying, "don't sweat the small stuff?" The Bible actually tells you to do the opposite. The prophet Zechariah was used by God to tell his people, by asking them the question, "For who has despised the day of small things?" This episode highlights that principle with examples of people from scripture as well as history, along with the story of a local man who took his job serious.

"I got this!" How many times have you said that and then fell flat on your face.
Failing to ask for help can lead to disaster. There is a way to avoid making the mistake of relying only on yourself and then suffering the consequences. You can ask God to show you the best way to do things. Hear an example from the Bible that teaches us to ask God first before we step out to do something that we think we can handle on our own.

Are you fighting battles too difficult to win? Dealing with gigantic problems?
Stop fighting your own battles and learn how to see victory by letting God take over. The Bible teaches this lesson in a number of places. One of the best examples is found in 1 Samuel 17. Here the small shepherd boy, and future king of Israel, David, takes on Goliath, the giant who intimidated an entire army of seasoned warriors. David knew that our battles are really not ours, but God's.

Not sure who to follow? Don't just follow the crowd.
It may look like the majority of people are correct when it comes to politics, fashion, music, social media, opinions etc. But following the crowd is not the wisest way to live your life. The Bible tells us in several places that not following the culture around us, not following the world, not following the crowd is actually the better way to live.

Are you feeling like you're in a deep valley, or on a tall mountain? Geography doesn't matter to God. He can help no matter where you are.
God's Geography Lesson teaches that no matter where you feel like you are right now, a deep, dark valley, or the highest mountain top, God can help you. Terrain, circumstances, challenges, etc. don't matter to Him, the king of Israel saw this lesson firsthand when Israel's enemies thought they could attack them on the plains because God could only aid them if they were up in the higher elevations of the hills. Based on 1 Kings 20:23-29
