I QUIT - Why I'm leaving my career of nearly 17 years and how I hope to live up to my own expectations
It's probably a few years overdue if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what I do. I love getting to know people, helping them get out of pain, help them to understand their body and movement mechanics. Educate them on what they can do to feel better and get the most from themself.
I love it.
But I'm also ready to move on.
There's a feeling deep inside of me that feels restless. That needs more. To help you and so many more on a larger scale.
And the question on everyone's lips? What are you going to do?
And my honest answer is I don't know.
Yes, there are things in the pipeline that I will do. See if they light me up. But to tell you that I'm leaving my business, my clients, and my 17 years' worth of education and experience for some other plan, some other job or career.... well, it's not true. I don't really have a plan other than try stuff.
Try all the things that scare me. Light me up. That piques my curiosity.
Try it all, then decide.
So I guess that's my plan.
It's scary as hell.
I hope you can come along for the ride!
I'd love to hear from you!

96. Why Energy Healing Might Be The Missing Link To Your Recovery
Energy healing is a holistic approach to health and wellness that aims to balance and restore the flow of energy within the body. It is based on the idea that physical, mental, and emotional well-being are interconnected and influenced by the flow of energy within the body.
Energy healing techniques can include practices like Reiki, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Qigong, and others. These techniques are believed to help stimulate the body's natural healing processes by balancing and restoring the flow of energy.
People may consider energy healing to be "woo woo" or pseudoscientific because it is not widely recognized or accepted within the conventional medical community. Additionally, some of the concepts and theories behind energy healing, such as the existence of a universal life force or energy field, can seem mysterious or unproven to some people.
Energy healing also lacks the kind of scientific evidence that is commonly used to support traditional medical treatments, such as controlled clinical trials or peer-reviewed studies. This lack of scientific evidence can lead some people to dismiss energy healing as unscientific or lacking credibility.
However, it's important to note that many alternative or complementary therapies, including energy healing, have been used for thousands of years and have helped many people experience positive health outcomes. Personal experiences and anecdotal evidence can provide valuable information about the potential benefits of these therapies, and more research is needed to fully understand the potential of energy healing and other alternative therapies.
Ultimately, the decision to try energy healing or any other alternative therapy is a personal one, and individuals should carefully consider their own health needs and beliefs before making a decision. It is always best to consult with a qualified healthcare provider before trying any new therapy or treatment.

95. Stored Emotions and How They Impact Our Actions and Interactions, Career and Our Performance
Stored emotions can have a significant impact on our actions, interactions, career, and performance. Emotions are closely tied to our thoughts and behaviours, and when emotions are stored, they can affect our outlook and approach to life.
For example, negative emotions such as anger, sadness, or frustration can lead to negative thinking patterns and behaviour, affecting our interactions with others and our ability to perform at work. On the other hand, positive emotions like joy, happiness, and excitement can boost our confidence, creativity, and motivation, leading to better performance in our personal and professional lives.
It is important to manage and process stored emotions to maintain emotional balance and avoid their negative effects on our lives. This can include engaging in self-care practices, talking to a trusted friend or therapist, practising mindfulness, and finding healthy ways to cope with and release emotions.
In this short episode, I chat about the practices you can start to regulate your emotions and end with a self reflection question you can journal on and ponder throughout your day.
I would love to know your thoughts and how you go about emotionally regulating yourself.

87. SARAH TUHORO - The Importance of Personality Types for Self-Awareness, Communication and Fulfilling Your Potential
Personality: The unique patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that distinguish a person from others.
Have you ever questioned the way certain people make decisions, or say the things they do? Or maybe you've wondered why people just don't get you.
Cue in Personality Theory. Today on the show I chat with my good friend and Personality Typing expert, Sarah Tuhoro on all things personality types. We discuss why it matters to understand your own personality type and how that will help you in your work, life and relationships.
Sarah breaks down how personality typing can help you understand:
- Why you do and say the things you do
- Your preferred style of communicating
- How you make decisions.
- How to leverage your strengths and build on your weaknesses for greater success
- How understanding yourself will help you understand others
Honouring and embracing your individuality by understanding your personality type will help to bring you greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and the space to accept and embrace others for who they are.
This is Part 1 of Personality Typing with Sarah. Tune into the next episode coming up in a few week's time where we will announce some exciting news and give you the chance to get typed by Sarah!

86. JOSH SMITH - How Your Energy, Mindset and Self-Reflection Can Set You Up For Success
How do you get the best from yourself? For business owner and strength and conditioning coach, Josh Smith, it's all about having honest conversations with himself and with those close to him.
I had so much fun chatting with Josh. He's a good friend of mine and when the opportunity came up to record this episode live in my makeshift studio we threw ourselves at the challenge. No scripts, no plan, just hit record and let the rest look after itself.
And it was a good thing we did because it's clear Josh is on a mission to help people change the way they think, feel and approach their challenges to truly break out of their comfort zone. We dive deep into what it means to be accountable for how you show up, the energy you bring to every situation and the commitment it takes to continually grow as a person.
We talk about:
- How to control your energy no matter what your feeling
- How to shift your energy from a negative state to a positive state
- How and when to use self-reflection in order to continue getting better
- The power of feedback and how to ask for it
- How to get out of your comfort zone.
This was such a fun conversation. Josh is an open book and his desire to be the best he can be and help others do the same is evident as he truly walks his talk.

85. KATIE ST.CLAIR - Understanding Rib Posture, Pelvic Positioning and Breathing Mechanics to Optimise Movement and Recovery
My number one value is to "help create a love of movement". - Katie
Today I have the pleasure of chatting with trainer and strength coach Katie St.Clair. Katie is passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals while always considering their postural balance and joints and what I really love about Katie is her holistic approach to movement. Her skilful and precise explanations of what is happening biomechanically in different movements and how you can apply that to your own body is invaluable. If you head to her Instagram or her youtube channel you will see her address foundational principles around breathing mechanics, rib positioning spinal alignment and pelvis positioning and it’s through these teachings that have helped me become more aware of my ribs spine and pelvis in relation to exercise movements, especially those that require me to lift heavier and that is such a gift hat I’m grateful for so to chat with her today was super exciting for me.
In this episode we cover:
- breathing mechanics and it's role in movement
- rib positioning, spinal alignment and pelvis positioning and understanding their links
- how to apply this knowledge to your own sport and training
- we also talk about women and contact sports and how to train to build that resilience to withstand strong bumps, hits and tackles,
- we talk about pregnancy and how to prepare your body for all the changes
- we also chat towards the end about language and being kind to ourselves.
This episode has so much goodness and I’m so excited to bring this to you, Enjoy this conversation with Katie st Clair.
