Do you have a song that reminds you of a difficult time in your life? Or perhaps one of your breakups? I have a few, and this episode is about one of them, and the breakup that could have broken me but instead led me to this exact spot.
I hope that you will find inspiration in my story. I am sending you so much strength for the week ahead.

144: 🧗Overcoming loneliness after a breakup (special vacation re-post!) 🧗
Happy Ex-Philes Day! This week I have a double dropped episode for you. There is always a special reason for a re-posted episode over here in Ex-Philes Land and this week it is because I am all the way down in New Zealand visiting guest co-host Jessie Maree and well, things don’t always go according to schedule when you take a trip like this.
Today’s episode is one of the most important that I’ve done. That is because fear and discomfort around being alone causes a lot of people to get stuck in their healing journey and causes a lot of people to make choices and decisions that are less than optimal for long-term happiness.
Whether you are unsure where to start with your loneliness journey or want to add more power to your single life, this episode is for you. Enjoy!

143: 🛌The Way You Breakup is the Way You…. 🛌
Breakups bring lessons, lessons, lessons. Part of the philosophy around Ex-Philes is that if you decide to learn and grow from a broken heart you can beat anything in life. Buckle up. If you’re not a believer already, this episode is meant to make one out of you.
I am joined once again by guest co-host and gal-pal Lena Ehrenberg to talk about how the way you do one thing is the way you do all things; including in love.

139: 🔛Past trauma, new relationships 🔛
A lot of us carry trauma, wounds, and “baggage” related to our past. Whether it be a relationship that went wrong or another life event that left us questioning everything, how we navigate relationships can sometimes be changed forever. The good news is that with a little awareness, we CAN prevent our past from destroying good things in our future.
This week I am so pleased to have Katie Davie back to talk with me about accepting our previous wounds while committing to healing them. We discuss:
-What trauma is
-How trauma can be created in dating situations
-The different types of trauma
-Overcoming trauma before dating again
-Recognizing when trauma is rearing its head in a new relationship and addressing it
-Our stories with trauma and overcoming our pasts

138: 🛀 Self-soothing after a breakup 🛀
I believe that we can all overcome loneliness and fulfill our own emotional needs, even with anxious attachment. This doesn’t mean that there are huge benefits to having a support network, but when we are able to look after ourselves these networks become stronger and more meaningful.
Learning to self-soothe is one way that we can prevent loneliness and develop self-trust after a breakup. I have been on a personal journey with building this muscle over the last several years and know how life-changing it can be. In today’s episode, I discuss:
-What it means to self-soothe
-How self-soothing relates to your attachment style and moving from an insecure attachment to a secure attachment style
-My experience learning how to self-soothe
-How self-soothing strengthens your friendships
-Beginner’s tips
