It’s that cozy, wonderful time of year! I am in love with Christmas and everything the season means - peace, joy and love to all! I’m not so in love with everything society and commercialism tells us we need to do, buy, be, and make in order to have a happy holiday. I’m a firm believer that the holiday season can be simple and enjoyable. I’m here to spill the beans on how Christmas happens in our family (FYI, this involves speaking about long kept secrets you may not want your kids hearing from me - headphones highly recommended around children!)

I’m tired of hearing that moms don’t get a break, a day off, and especially that we don’t get to be sick… Whether we’re talking about getting hit with the cold-bug, navigating life with a chronic illness, or battling for your sanity against a mental illness; you mama, get to have a sick day.

I know this season can be so full of chatter about gratitude, and peace, and joy, and I also know it can be full of feelings of stress, and overwhelm, and guilt. 139 | How I quit being lazy and got out of my funk, again
I’ve been called lazy many times in my life, mostly by my mom (parents just don’t understand). I tried to fight it for so long, and when I finally gave in, things started to fall into place. Let me explain this, I had it all wrong. I wore that false label while holding in my heart the truth and it caused a rift in how I viewed myself. I never felt lazy, but because I was experiencing depression, fatigue and burnout, I always felt like it was impossible to get anything done.
I know we’ve talked about how we place an unrealistic expectation on ourselves and end up hurt that we can’t accomplish an impractical and inhuman amount of work in a day while juggling the home, the husband, the kids, and your own sanity… But today I want to take the time to discuss laziness, or our self-perceived laziness to be more specific.
