The Fathers Love
Broken Vessels Podcast host Latoya Washington sits down with Linda Gunter. Love Him Love Them began as a non-profit social services organization in 1998 by David and Linda Gunter in the fifth worst crime ridden neighborhood in America, Vine City, Atlanta, Georgia. As real estate investors at that time they had homelessness, drugs and prostitution thrown in their face on a daily basis. They wanted to make a difference so they took one of their rental properties and “turned it into” a homeless shelter. Because funding came from friends and family and not government grants they were free to operate and share Jesus on a daily basis. The shelter and the non-profit was named George’s Place in honor of Linda’s daddy. In 2011, the year after the devastating earthquake rolled through Haiti, the Gunter family decided together to forgo their traditional American Christmas to travel to Haiti instead. What they saw, smelled and experienced throughout their trip completely wrecked them. They took gifts that first year for 17 girls in an orphanage named HUG, and on a whim, decided to stop into an orphanage on Christmas Day named LifeSaver with a meager suitcase of flip flops in hand. Sitting on a urine- stained daybed cradling one of the newly orphaned babies, David and Linda listened to 30 children with no possessions and no parents sing praises to the Lord for fulfilling their prayers over the past 3 months and what happened to be their greatest need – a simple pair of 99 cent flip flops. It was then that the Gunter’s knew something had to be done and chose to put much of their ministry focus on Haiti. With Linda’s gift for vision and commitment to turn every obstacle into an opportunity, and David’s prayerful guidance and heart that people come to know and grow in Jesus, their ministry continued to expand. In the summer of 2017, their dream for the children they met at LifeSaver orphanage just a few years prior became a reality when the doors finally opened for the children to travel to the United States. With $128.00 remaining in the ministry’s bank account, David and Linda took another leap of faith and toured with the children throughout the southeastern United States to raise funds to support the orphanage and mission work in Haiti. For the first time, the children were able to share their joy with the countless they encountered. Paired with the Gunter’s story and Linda’s vibrant and magnetic personality, the Love Him Love Them Haitian Orphan Choir Tour quickly became a source of inspiration and a place for life change. Today David and Linda Gunter are continuing to change lives through the ministry work of Love Him Love Them. With 30 incredible orphans at their side, they continue to raise awareness and funds for their ministries in Haiti with their annual choir tour. Their ministries on the ground in Haiti include a newly built hospital, church construction, a vocational school, transitional housing, storefronts for job creation, sponsor schools, and orphan care, to name a few. Love Him Love Them now hosts annual mission trip opportunities to Haiti, with the annual Christmas trip being their most loved, having served as the cornerstone for their ministry today. David and Linda have continued to minister to the families of northeast Georgia through many of the programs that accompanied Love Him Love Them’s start. Saul consults a witch
In this episode of Broken Vessels Podcast, we learn a valuable lesson from King Saul. The Kingdom was rent from the hand of King Saul because of disobedience. Saul disobeyed God's instruction to kill the Amalekites and we find in 1st Samuel 28: 3-25, God did not answer his request. Saul decided to consult a medium to raise the prophet Samuel from the dead. Instead of seeking God's face and repenting from his sin, he chose to consult a witch. The medium conjured up Samuel, and the man of God only spoke what the Lord had already spoke. Seek Gods face and turn from practicing a life of sin.

Fully Dressed
This episode of LunchTime Word reveals a moment in my life that I appeared to be fully dressed. Technology has made it easy to host meetings and events virtually. If we want to dress up for the online meeting or event, we can simply appear to be fully dressed by wearing clothes from the top up. While driving to the store I realized that many of us walk out our houses partially dressed spiritually. We exit our homes without putting on the whole armor of God in order to stand against the wiles of the devil. The enemy is deceptive, cunning, subtle and manipulative. Therefore leaving the house partially dressed exposes parts of spiritual bodies to the enemy. In the book of Ephesians 6:10-30, we find Apostle Paul teaching the church in Ephesus about putting on the whole armor of God. So it may be easy to fool people being partially dressed online, God sees our hearts and knows if we are fully dressed in the armor of God.

God's Judgement
This episode of LunchTime Word is a warning for the people of God to turn from their wickedness. In Jeremiah 5:20-31, Jeremiah is used to warn the children of Israel of soon coming judgement. We need to seek the Lord and repent from the wickedness in our hearts. We have been speaking and teaching what God has not instructed us to teach or speak. It is time for us to get our lives in order. It is time for us to lay aside the ways of the world. We need the consuming fire of God to consume the impurities our hearts. This word is timely because our God will not stay his hand much longer. Judgement is indeed coming. If the righteous scarcely be saved how can the sinner and ungodly appear? ( 1st Peter 4:18) Repent and get your house in order.

Jesus has risen just as he said. Period! In this episode of LunchTime Word we read in Luke 23:50-56 that Jesus was buried in a tomb. A good and just man named Joseph. He was a council member who did not consent to the decision and deed to crucify Jesus, asked for the Lord's body. The word of God teaches in Luke 24: 1-12 the women had brought the prepared spices and fragrant oils but the stone was rolled away and Jesus body was gone. But two angels appeared and ask the women one question, Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here but is risen! Jesus has risen just as he said. If we believe he died, I pray this word today's shows you that he has risen as he said!

Jesus is Crucified
This episode of LunchTime Word will bring you to tears. Our savior Jesus Christ suffered unto to death because he obeyed the will of his Father. In the book of Luke 23:13-49, Jesus was handed over from Pilate to King Herod multiple times because they found no fault in him that would lead to a judgement of death. But the people loudly yelled "crucify him" and yet our Savior said not a word.

Forgiveness & Faith
This episode of LunchTime word is coming out of the book of Luke 17: 1-10. When it comes to offenses we tend to feel justifiable to take revenge or avenge ourselves from wrongdoing. But the Word of God teaches us to forgive those that wrong us and that we can't avoid offenses. The word says offenses will come but "Woe unto whom they do come". This should be encouraging on our journey because we see the disciples asked the Lord to increase their faith. Jesus says to the disciples in Luke 17:6, "if you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree be pulled up by the roots and planted in the sea and it will obey". I learned that faith and forgiveness work together. It can be difficult to have someone sin against you seven times in a day but the word says to forgive him. It may seem impossible but Jesus Christ is saying that with mustard seed faith, it is possible to forgive. Be sure to read Luke 17 in your time of study and I pray it feeds your spirit man.

Jesus clears the Temple
Today's episode of LunchTime Word is coming from the book of John 2: 13-25. Here we read that Jesus clears the temple of money changers, overturns tables and drives out the animals from the temple. The Jews asked "What sign is this for you to do what you do? Jesus replies, "Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up". But the people did not understand that we was not talking about the physical building but his body. Jesus Christ was crucified and rose on the third day from the grave. The stone was rolled away and we know that he is seated at the right hand of the Father (ABBA). In your spare time of study be sure to read John 2 in it's entirety, because the Word of God is food for our spirit man. The word heals, reveals, corrects, rebukes, refines and defines us to be more like Jesus and less like us!

Cost to be a disciple!
This episode of LunchTime Word is coming out of the book of Luke 14: 25-35 and it blessed my soul.

There may be no evidence of the promise in sight but we walk by faith and not by sight! May this word today give you the push to endure. Walk by faith and hold on to God's unchanging hand.

Are you carnal?
This episode of LunchTime word is a delicious meal that leaves listeners with a question. Are you carnal? In the book of 1st Corinthians 3: 1-17, Apostle Paul corrects the Corinthian church because of the reports of envy, strife and division within the church. Some were stating "I am of Paul and "I am of Apollos! Paul addressed the issue by revealing the root of this was immaturity and carnality within the church. Where you find envy, strife and division, there you will find carnality. Once we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are new creatures. We need the infilling and indwelling of the Holy Spirit to follow the standards of God. We should no longer operate as the world but this scripture reveals the immaturity in some of the believers. Are you carnal is a question we should ourselves each day. As the world grows more wicked let us decide to be less like the world and more like Jesus Christ!

Are you a sheep or a goat?
This episode of LunchTime word is about the "Final Judgement" in Matthew 25:31-46. Jesus reveals to disciples about the Final judgement. He discusses the separation of sheep and goat. This scripture left me speechless because it caused me to reflect on my daily life. To ensure that we do even for the least of these. Be sure to meditate on today's scripture and ponder on whether you are a sheep or a goat.

Stepping into the Presence of God
This episode of Lunchtime Word is about the presence of God. Psalms 122: 1-9 speaks about the presence of God and how wonderful it is to be in the house of the Lord. There is nothing like presence of God! The Lord wants to abide in us and I in him. To be overcome by his presence and unfailing love can't be compared. His presence fills me up and pours me out as a vessel to be used for his kingdom. God is awesome and worthy to be praised. Be sure to meditate on Psalms 122:1-9 in your quiet time with the Lord and allow his presence to overflow in your life.

Don't run from God
This episode of LunchTime word is coming out of the book of Jonah. We are focusing primarily on Jonah's assignment to preach to Nineveh about the coming judgement of God. Jonah was instructed the first time and instead of obeying God, he fled to Tarshish. Unfortunately his disobedience caused others to be effected and those on the ship had to toss their cargo overboard. There are many times that we fail to realize that our disobedience can affect others and cause damaging effects. While the ship was being tossed back and forth, Jonah was in the bottom of the ship sleeping! Jonah fled because he knew that our God is loving, kind, slow to wrath and full of grace and mercy. There is nothing in the bible that explains why Jonah was disobedient but many of us have excuses to run from God's instructions. Instead of running from God, let us choose to submit and follow his instructions.

New Covenant and Preparing for His Return
This episode of LunchTime Word is coming out of the book of Jeremiah 31: 31-34. After reading the scripture the Holy Spirit led me to talk about the return of Jesus Christ. I can't explain the feeling that overtook me but it led me to tears because many have stopped believing that he will return. Though he may tary it does not mean that he is not going to return. I pray this episode will bless you and reveal the areas that have begun to doubt his return. No matter what may be going on around us, our King Jesus will indeed return. Even if we don't know the day and the hour, we will stand as the wise brides waiting with their oil and lamps. Stay ready and prepared for the Bridegroom cometh!

That every heart had turned aside and together became corrupt. This scripture invites readers to examine themselves so we can draw closer to him. Speak and do not keep silent!
Today's LunchTime word is to encourage believers to continue to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the book of Acts 18: 1-11, we find our brother Paul is opposed by some of the people in the city and they opposed him. Paul was done and stated that "from now on I will go to the Gentiles (Acts 18:6, KJV). But the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and encouraged Paul to speak and not keep silent. Do not be discouraged when sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ because people wont receive it. But Speak and do not keep silent as the word of God says in Acts 18:9-10, because there is much work to do. After the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision, he stayed in that city for a year and an half teaching the word of God. So be encouraged beautiful people, speak and do not keep silent!

Don't be angry that your brother returned!
Today's episode of LunchTime word is a full course meal with all the fixings. We are coming out of Luke 15: 11-32 "Parable of the Lost Son" but the word reveals more about the older son. There are times when we feel like the older son and ask our Father why celebrate someone that has dishonored you but fail to celebrate the one that stayed? I love the response of the Father in this parable, "Son, you are always with me and all that I have is yours" (Luke 15:31, KJV). Many of us that have been faithful in our spiritual walk refuse to admit that we feel this way but allow God to heal this area in your heart. Instead of becoming angry and refusing to come in to celebrate, choose to be cheerful that your brother or sister that was once lost is now found!

Jesus describes his true family
This episode of Let's talk about it Fridays, we discuss the pain of losing family and friends because of our faith in Jesus Christ. On this straight and narrow road we learn that some people near to us will soon fade away. There are times when this can lead us feeling alone and rejected from our loved ones. But Jesus describes his true family in the book of Mark 3: 31-35 as whoever does the will of His Father. Jesus was not dishonoring his family by making this statement but it shows us that this walk is about doing the will of our Father. Our focus regardless of who leaves or stays is about pleasing our Father and being obedient.

It's not your righteousness
Today's Lunchtime Word is a buffet of goodness and will require you to empty out, so he can fill you up again. We are coming out of the book of Deuteronomy 9: 1-6 and God spoke to the children of Israel and instructed them to go into the land promised to their forefathers Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. While speaking with the children of Israel, God told them that it was not because of their righteousness or upright heart that they will enter the promise land. The land was given because of a promise to the forefathers and because of the wickedness of the nation. God reveals that it's not their righteousness because they are a stiff-necked people. This word was so good and convicting because at times we think it's our righteousness but its the faithfulness of our God. Be sure to take time to read and meditate on the book of Deuteronomy 9 in its entirety.

Follow Jesus

Urgent Prayer for Help

During moments of adversity choose to seek God and not resort to take matters into your own hands. Go to the Lord in prayer and ask for his help. Honestly, who else can help us? Jesus is our Lord, Savior and deliverer and it's in him that I trust. It is in the Lord that I move, breathe and have my being. Though I may be weak and poor, all that I have is yours Father. So here I am standing in the need of prayer. May this episode feed your spirit and encourage you to press!

The Way of Wisdom
This episode of LunchTime Word is coming out of the book of Proverbs 9: 1-12. In this day and age we need Godly wisdom for our daily lives. Whether it is to make decisions for our families, careers, education, etc. It is important to have wisdom to help us navigate our decisions. At times we think having experience is a sign of wisdom but Godly wisdom helps us discern beyond the surface of a situation. So be sure to read Proverbs 9 in it's entirety as we remain dedicated to feeding our spirit man.

Physician to the sick
Today's LunchTime Word is full of meat and potatoes for our spirit man. In the book of mark 2:13-17, Jesus eats with sinners and tax collectors and some of the Scribes questioned his disciples about this. But Jesus heard it and answered the scribes, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick". Jesus is our Great Shepherd and came to the sick and to lead sinners to repentance. This word for today leads me refreshed and rejuvenated to continue on sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. I pray this word will convict you to follow Jesus because he is the way, the truth and the life!
