Cardinal Couple Radio Hour

The crew comes together this week to discuss nice wins for Louisville. WBB picked up a ranked win on the road over Ole Miss in a late night matchup earlier in the week and volleyball defended their home court in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. All that and more on this week's episode.

A thin crew is made thinner by some technical difficulties and scheduling concerns but they endeavor ever onward. Mixed groupings of Paulie, Jared, and Case look at the week that was with the end of field hockey's season, wins for UofL WBB, and a big match for volleyball against Pitt.

It's a busy show this week with volleyball, field hockey, and women's basketball all in action along with fall signing day taking place. The crew (Paulie, Jeff, Daryl, and Case) cover all that before moving on to a few Veterans Day tributes.

Louisville field hockey broke their losing streak by beating Boston College last week and then followed it up with another win over the Eagles on Halloween. Unfortunately, the good vibes ended when they lost to Duke in the ACC Semifinals. While field hockey awaits their fate for the NCAA Tourney, volleyball will stew over the missed opportunity to take control of the ACC title outright after their loss to Georgia Tech. All that and more this week.

The crew is a couple of members short, but they cover the seasons of multiple fall sports coming up on their ends. The soccer team wrapped up the year with a win, but will not participate in the post season, while a victory for field hockey improved their ACC seeding. In addition to those, they look at volleyball continuing to win and the WBB Tip-Off Luncheon.

It's a smaller crowd than normal, with Jared and Daryl leaving Paulie, Jeff, and Case to take care of a packed show on their own. They cover a busy week of soccer, field hockey, and volleyball before Case and Jeff are thrown the reins near the end when Paulie's computer gremlins strike again. Case is able to pull Jeff away from volleyball just long enough to talk about women's basketball's newest commitment.

It's been a busy week this week, and Paulie, Jeff, and Jared are here to tell you all about it. Louisville volleyball suffered their first conference loss Sunday but bounced back with a win over UNC on Friday. Meanwhile, field hockey went to the wire against Wake Forest before coming out on top in the shootout. All that and more on this week's episode.

Louisville volleyball and field hockey continue their strong seasons with wins on the week, and both are ranked in the top five. The crew turns a bit dark when discussing the future of the women's soccer squad but returns to general nonsense with hypothetical professional teams in Louisville.

Louisville volleyball took down Kentucky in straight sets in front of a packed KFC Yum! Center and the crew has a hard time talking about much else. They ultimately manage to get past themselves to talk about the recent results for Louisville field hockey and women's soccer, a tough loss and draw, respectively.

Fall sports galore! Louisville had all of their fall sports in action this week and they all picked up a win. Field Hockey and Volleyball both stayed undefeated while Women's Soccer picked up their first win of the year. In addition to plenty about those sports, the crew discusses basketball news with the addition of a new forward from Turkey and an accolade for a transfer.

Louisville Volleyball and Field Hockey remain undefeated as volleyball pick up their third sweep in four matches and field hockey snag their second straight ranked win away from home. Unfortunately, it's not all roses for the Cards, as women's soccer continues to struggle, despite scoring their first home goal. The crew covers all that and more on this week's show.

Louisville women's soccer is no longer the only athletic squad in action as they're joined by volleyball and field hockey. Though soccer's less than stellar start to the season continues, the other two teams opened their seasons with wins. Both have quick turnarounds, and Paulie, Jeff, and Case cover it all.

Louisville women's soccer opened their regular season with a less than ideal draw while field hockey kicked off the exhibition season with a strong win over Bellarmine. Volleyball is next on the list with the red and black scrimmage.

There are games on the schedule! After a week off, the gang returns with plenty to talk about. After some catching up on their personal goings-on, the guys look at a bit of news around the program before turning their attention to season prognostications for the fall sports. With women's soccer starting their regular season this week, what better time to predict a final record? There is also plenty of excitement (and expectation) around the field hockey and volleyball teams.

It's been another long summer for the Cardinal Couple Crew, but the doldrums are coming to a close. It's almost a full house on this week's show so there's plenty to go around on this podcast only episode. Jared and Daryl rejoin the show after a pair of long absences, and the gang catches up with each other along with the UofL news.

Without too many events to talk about for the Cards, the guys look at the mountains of news over the last couple of weeks. There are coaches and players galore incoming across campus, so be sure to tune in to be caught up with all of UofL's happenings.

As the summer slump continues, the guys continue to revel in any news of Louisville women's athletics they can get. There's some of that as teams and players take on international duty. All that and more as they work their way through the hour.

The guys cover the recently announced fall sports schedules in depth. With mixed optimism and pessimism about the prospects of the various sports, the conversations get quite lively in a relatively long show for the summer slump.

It's another light crew as Jeff, Jared, and Case hold down the fort in the first real week of the summer slump. The guys cover more accolades for spring athletes, pro Cards in women's basketball, and some of the women's college world series. They also devote a disproportionate amount of time to restroom and sun path layouts in stadiums and race tracks.

With just UofL Softball in action this week, it's a pretty short list of topics. The guys talk about the loss in the NCAA opener and briefly look ahead at Saturday's continuing games. After that, there is basketball and volleyball national team news before final thoughts.

The end of the 2022-2023 athletic year is almost upon us, but the crew still has events to talk about. After their win streak was halted by three close games on the road to close the season against FSU, Louisville softball was bounced from the ACC tournament in their first game. The crew talks about the last couple of weeks after having last week off for the Kentucky Derby. With other spring sports wrapping up and the softball team awaiting their NCAA tournament fate, there's still plenty to cover.

Louisville softball won their seventh straight game with a run rule of Boston College. They've turned up the heat on the season recently and the crew talks about their successes and prospects going forward. It's impossible to ignore the news of HVL's transfer destination, so they cover that as well, along with a bit of discussion of the current roster.

This week's show was a bit derailed by breaking news. Hailey Van Lith has announced that she is transferring from the University of Louisville. Conversation about that development takes up the majority of the show, but the guys manage to look at the recent results and upcoming games for softball and lacrosse.

Louisville took a big win over Ole Miss in the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen Friday night and advance to the Elite Eight against Iowa. The crew talks about that game in depth with passing discussions of Lacrosse and Softball as well.

Softball played a double-header on Friday night and won them both. In addition to those games, the Cards also had a busy a lacrosse week but the big news of the week is the NCAA tournament starting. The crew discusses the games underway and the early results of the NCAA Pick 'Em Challenge.

As we move into March, spring sports are in like a lion just like the weather. Softball and lacrosse have been busy, so the crew gives them their props, while basketball awaits their fate from the selection committee. As in the old days in the basement on Crescent Hill, Paulie, Jeff, and Case spend half their time talking about something other than their planned topics.

The winter and spring Cards have been busy this week as Lacrosse, Basketball, and Softball were all in action. The teams had their share of wins and losses and the crew gets into all three sports. It's a long one this week, as tangents abound. 

It's a full show this week as softball and lacrosse are underway, filling up the calendar quickly. The crew covers the nervy basketball win over Virginia before looking at the opening days for softball and lacrosse. As always, sidebars and distractions abound. 

After a few wins in a row, Louisville basketball returned to the column of headscratching losses with a pair this week. The Cards fell at home to NC State then on the road to Wake Forest. The crew looks at those losses, the state of the team, and where they go from here. 

It's a full house as the crew discusses two wins for Louisville women's basketball and previews the upcoming big game against NC State. The spring seasons are on the horizon and next week will see Louisville's spring sports media day.

It's the last episode of the year, so the guys review the 2022 calendar year. There were plenty of ups and downs and the crew looks at what went well, what didn't, and what encourages them for the year ahead. As always, it's been a pleasure to spread the joy and excitement of UofL women's athletics, and we look forward to everyone joining us as we continue the mission in 2023.

After a middling-to-poor performance in the Bahamas, Louisville basketball returned home to crush the Lancers of Longwood. The Cards will look ahead to Ohio State to get back on track. Volleyball has had a successful week as well, as they clinched the ACC co-championship. As they hold the tiebreak over Pitt, they'll be the automatic qualifier in the NCAA tournament. If the show is ever on the rails, it's definitely not this week. With another beautiful late fall day, the crew is a bit stir crazy, but they get it together enough to get through the episode. It's been a busy week, with Louisville soccer, volleyball, and field hockey having matches in the last couple of days along with the women's basketball media day. The gang discusses all that (and plenty more) on this week's episode.
