ONE THING  God can transform any heart, at any time, when He wills it. 

Ezra 6:21-22

CONTEXT  A transformed heart seeks the mind and fulfills the will of God, like Jesus, as the Holy Spirit leads. 

We all need our heart transformed by God because His way, is the only right way to true love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.   

Also we can’t win against sin, Christ alone has conquered sin & death, we must be in Christ to be more than conquerors. 

Here we see God doing what only He can do but we all need, a transforming a heart. 

Here we see and learn the evidence of a heart transformed is driven to fulfill the will and mind of God. 

How can we know when a person’s (your) heart is changed by God?

   You will want to do ALL of God’s will.

ONE THING  We remember and return to God to be purified.

Ezra 6:19-20

CONTEXT  We are purified by God to show those around us the glorious Jesus Christ.

How do people know that their motives and action are pure?

Purify themselves in preparation of Passover from sin, ungodly intentions, draw their gaze and focus of deeds toward the mind and will of God.

Part of our response to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. To love other Christians till the end of life and help share the biblical truth in brotherly love with those who are not yet a part of the family of God.

As Christians, how can we know our motives and actions are pure?

   We first deal with our sin with God then we gladly submit to follow Christ in each moment by the Holy Spirit’s leading.

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples.

BEING PURIFIED TO POINT TO CHRIST IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Go to God in worship to have your heart, mind, soul and strength purified.

COMMUNITY Let others know that why you do what you do is to honor God and follow Jesus.

SERVICE  Invite others to do what they do when they do it to honor God, as a Christian, by the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

MULTIPLICATION  Biblically love others like Jesus till the end, both in the kingdom of and into the kingdom of God.

ONE THING  Don’t hesitate to dedicate this day to God.

Handle the day in a God honoring way.               

Let the Holy Spirit guide you.

Ezra 6:17-18

CONTEXT  Dedication to God must have devotion and commitment.

Help others to see God is number one to thee.   

Let the Holy Spirit guide you.

At the dedication (devotion, commitment) they dealt with sin, celebrated God delivering them and putting people in place to serve so others can draw close to God.

Before we become Christian we are dead in our trespasses / sin, by grace through faith in Jesus we can be saved from death.

Dedication is to God and away from sin that has been forgiven so others may be served to do the same.

Biblical deeds that honor God are the evidence, fruit, of devotion to God.

Biblical deeds that help others to see and have a commitment to God. These together and you have dedication to God

How can we know when our dedication to God is right and true?

   We have repented of our sins, draw closer to God and perform deeds keeping with our repentance.

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples.

DEDICATION TO GOD IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST

WORSHIP Find out what pleases God, do and give that to Him.

COMMUNITY Commit to believe, think and act in a Biblical way to every situation you face today.

SERVICE  Help others to see that God is rich in mercy and makes us alive together with Jesus Christ

ONE THING  When God does something great we should celebrate.

   Publicly and with joy.

CONTEXT  Since God only does great, we should celebrate more.

   In small ways and extravagant ways we point to His magnificence. 

As in all things in life, there is a wrong way and the right biblical way to celebrate.

The focus of our joyful celebration should be God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. 

   Our celebrations should be public with others so other will know the greatness of God.

How do we celebrate God with joy well? 

(Many methods to this truth in the context of relationships)

  By demonstrating through calm delight integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting, assured of salvation, content with our earthly lot of whatsoever sorts.

CELEBRATING GOD WELL IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST

WORSHIP In small ways and extravagant ways we point to His magnificence.

COMMUNITY Make a big deal about God and the great things He has, can and will do. Temple story

ONE THING  Opposing God is always a consequence filled bad idea.

Ezra 6:11-13

CONTEXT  We oppose God when we believe, think and act against His Sovereign will.

Scripture Background…In the midst of opposition to God they spoke the word of Life, that we know as the Gospel, Bible.

Presented with the hardships of our faith we must remember that God, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit will not ever be overthrown! 

It is good advice for us to never be found opposing God’s will to biblically seek, save and mature us all. 

(The temporal and eternal consequences can / will be disastrous)

Who are we opposing when we go against God’s will? 

God in His Sovereignty, the Saving Grace Filled Authority of Jesus Christ and the Guiding Strength of the Holy Spirit.

ONE THING  Pleasing sacrifices to God are a daily part of the Christian life.

    Now that we know it, daily we should do it.

Ezra 6:8-10

CONTEXT  Each day, there will be a way, to sacrifice in a God honoring way.

Now that we do it the goal is without fail.

In this verse we have the thankful grateful acknowledgment which the apostle makes of the kindness of the Philippians in sending him a present for his support, now that he was a prisoner at Rome. – M. Henry

Sacrifices are fragrant in offering, acceptable and pleasing because through faith it advances the will of God in lives. 

   It is going to cost you something for the good of the kingdom of God and you may not immediately benefit. 

How do we know what to daily sacrifice? Ezra 6:9

      Anything and everything that will help to bring the kingdom of God into the lives of us all. (person, place or thing)

Offering God Daily Pleasing Sacrifices IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST

WORSHIP Ask God to make known to you the pleasing sacrifice you can offer this day.

COMMUNITY Daily offer God pleasing sacrifices in faith through deeds as the Holy Spirit leads.

SERVICE In relationship help others offer pleasing sacrifices to God in faith through deeds.  

MULTIPLICATION  Proper sacrifices please God, draw people closer to Him and strengthen the faith of Christians.

ONE THING It is always the right time to return to God.

Ezra 6:6-7   

CONTEXT Return to the Lord in faith and to fulfill His will.

We can all head in the wrong direction but we can get back on the right path.

Peter denies Jesus three times / Peter restored by Jesus at campfire / Peter shares Jesus for God’s glory

A good confession made in Christ, a re-turning to God and a glad submission to the Holy Spirit’s leading is the way forward.

What can a person do when they realize their life is headed away from God?

      Repent, Be Baptized, Fulfill God’s will like Jesus Christ

ONE THING Bring people back to God to live for Him.

    Invite them to return to the house of God

Ezra 6:3-5

CONTEXT To live for God is to be ready for every good work He has for us.

Invite them to discovery in the house of God

We see in v5 the importance vessels have to play in the worship of God, they bring a fulfilling purpose to others.

2 Timothy 2:21  Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. 

God has made it so everyone can be an anyone set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house Jesus Christ.

   They simply need to be brought back to God, returned and a part of the house of God, the body of Christ.

How are people brought back to God?

      They are invited to join, shown the way that leads to reconciliation through Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit.

Bringing people back to God IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST

WORSHIP Worship God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in a local church.

COMMUNITY Invite them to worship God with you in a local church.

SERVICE Help others to turn away from what draws them away from God’s good purpose.

ONE THING The Bible has no equal when it comes to truth.

It is they only without error truth for life.

Ezra 6:1-12

CONTEXT Jesus Christ is the perfect embodiment of God’s truth.

We should do all we can to love like Christ and live like Jesus

Psalm 119 a highly concentrated source for how great the Word of God is, how great the Bible is, Jesus is.

Psalm 119:160  The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

The Word of God, made flesh in Jesus, upheld through the Holy Spirit is the only eternal, right truth.

   No hope to have truth (natural, moral, legal) or to live rightly apart from believing and doing what the Bible says.

Psalm 119:11  I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Having God’s word in our heart, can keep us from sinning against God, when we look, learn and lean on it.

What should we do every day with the truth of God’s word?

   Filter every word, thought and deed through it before it takes root and bears fruit.

ONE THING Your daily created purpose is to please God.

Ezra 5:15-17

CONTEXT God is pleased when we respond to life with faith-filled biblical words and deeds.

First and foremost you should not be first and foremost in your life.

Give and generate praise and credit to God by doing what is biblically good, by sharing generously your time, talents and treasures.       

The Holy Spirit will guide you in this endeavor.

How can we know if what we are doing is pleasing to God?

   The Bible says so, God is glorified, Jesus Christ is exalted, the Holy Spirit followed and others are closer to God.

Why should we please God first and foremost before all others, including ourselves?

   1 Thessalonians 4:7  For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.

WORSHIP Draw near to God by faith then believe and confess that He exists.

ONE THING God’s holy anger toward sin benefits us all.

Ezra 5:12-14

CONTEXT God will perfectly deal with the wrongness of sin.

God’s holiness perfectly administers the righting of wrongs and grace in how He addresses sin = original, iniquity, transgression  

Be reconciled to God, with your devoted heart, seek His forgiveness as you return to His abounding steadfast love.

Why is it right and good for God to be angry with sin in our lives?

 It profanes God’s holiness, Hell is a real place for people who are not saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

What causes God’s anger with sin in our life to relent?

   When we ask for forgiveness and love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and love our neighbor as ourself.

CONTEXT Focus in on places that you can proclaim the excellencies of Jesus.

   By finding tangible ways to outwardly express our already inner faith in Jesus Christ.

Where can we build places for people to be saved and become more like Jesus?

   By creating pockets of places where people can worship Jesus in community as communities.

WORSHIP Worship God with other Christians to prepare to proclaim.

   It fills us with courage because we know we are protected.

ONE THING The Lord God fulfills more than the world ever will.

Ezra 4:22-24

CONTEXT Fulfillment in life happens when our relationship with God is top priority over all our wants, needs, hope and dreams.

Why is prioritizing our relationship with God so important?

   Acts 17:28  for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’ 

How can we know when we are seeking to fulfill ourselves with something other than God?

   Our relationship with God is moved away, pushed back, placed aside or left alone to pursue anything other than God.

WORSHIP Faithful to God first and fulfillment will come for you according to His sovereign will.

ONE THING God’s purpose for a man is to be a godly man.

Ezra 4:20-21

CONTEXT A godly man is meant to build the kingdom of God.

How do men find out how they are to express their purpose?

How can we help Christian men live by faith?

   By reminding them that having a greater resurrection after death is better than the accolades of this world.

How can we help men become more like the man God created them to be?

   Being an example of godliness as we journey through life together.

MEN BEING GODLY IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST.

WORSHIP Only a saved man can be a godly man. Receive the abundance of grace by faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin.

COMMUNITY Live self-controlled, upright and godly lives. Show all the good faith through good work for a good God our Savior.

SERVICE Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Jesus. Jesus’ way every day.

MULTIPLICATION Godly men make other godly men. Help others to be like Jesus.

ONE THING The Bible is the best determiner of what is right and wrong.

Ezra 4:17-19

CONTEXT To do what is biblically right we must do as Jesus does.

How do people today define what is right and wrong?

How can we know if we are defining right and wrong biblically?

   Our actions will line up with what the Bible teaches.

Why should we turn to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to know what is right and wrong?

   Because they are the only ones who are perfectly right all the time in every situation since before time.

BIBLICAL TRUTH IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST.

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Go to God to find out what is right and true. Pray often, worship in a local church, do life together with other Christians, etc. etc.

COMMUNITY Do what is biblically right in daily life. Be a disciple of Jesus that lives like Christ.

SERVICE Study the Bible in order to live out what it teaches. 

MULTIPLICATION Help others to think, say and do what is biblically right in the moment.

ONE THING When Jesus is Lord of your past there is always hope for today. 

Ezra 4:14-16

CONTEXT Jesus must reconcile us to God in order to overcome the penalty of our trespasses.

Why do so many people let the past define who they are today?

How can our past be used in a good way to help ourselves and others?   

By telling the story of what we once were before Christ and are now in Jesus. 

What is a great way to move through and on from a hurtful past?

   To help others, Christian or not,  move toward reconciliation with Christ. 

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples.

Hope in Jesus for today IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST.

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Give yourself past, present and future to Jesus. To have any hope in this life or the next you must devote yourself to Jesus 

COMMUNITY Live like the past has been put to rest. As a Christian your past has been redeemed and your forever is set. 

SERVICE Help others to be set free from past pain by helping them to put their hope in Jesus today. 

MULTIPLICATION Invite them to come and see that Jesus is the future for me. Take the time to build relationships because that’s the biblical context for giving hope.

Ezra 4:12-13

CONTEXT Faithfulness to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit is always the way through any difficult situation.

Why do people tell other people they are wrong?

The truth is… we maintain biblical faithfulness in the midst of lies being said about us.

   The assurance of our faith is embodied in Jesus Christ.    REMEMBER

   The strength to be faithful is exampled by Jesus Christ.    RESPOND

The truth is… we continue to do what is biblically good regardless of persecution.

   We strengthen our faith, our relationship with God, when we pass our life tests.

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples.

BIBLICAL FAITHFULNESS IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST.

WORSHIP Find out what Christians get to live out. Study God's word daily for directions.

COMMUNITY Demonstrate your faith in everyday situations. Think, speak and act biblically.

SERVICE Do not harden your heart towards God or His enemies. Remember faithfulness to God is the best way through any difficult situation.

MULTIPLICATION Love others and do what is biblically good. Live out your commitment to Christ no matter how difficult life gets.

ONE THING When a problem exists, big or small, go to the Lord through it all. (In any area of life)

Ezra 4:7-11

CONTEXT Whether your problems lead to disappointment or fulfillment is dramatically impacted by who’s way you follow. 

What do people often rely on when they are faced with a problem?

Why do so many people choose other things than Jesus to solve their problems?

   Because they don’t truly realize He is the best option, no competition

How can we please God in how we handle our problems?

   Take your problems to Jesus as a servant of Christ. (Not man)

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples.

GO TO THE LORD THROUGH ALL PROBLEMS IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST.

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Give Jesus your problems to handle. It is the best way to find the best solution.

COMMUNITY Seek the approval of God in how you handle it all. Not only do the answers come from God but we all answer to God.

SERVICE Help others to see Jesus is the hope they need. The best way to solve a problem is to follow Jesus through it.

MULTIPLICATION Pray over and serve Christ in the midst of any problem. Show others the way of Jesus by the way you live.

ONE THING purpose Adversity is a great opportunity to trust Jesus.

Ezra 4:4-6

CONTEXT  build We trust Jesus, in adversity, by gladly submitting to Him our heart, mind, soul and strength.

How do you build up others in Christ in the midst of adversity?

   You face it together at the foot of Christ’s throne. 

How can we make it easier for people to get to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit?

   Speak the Biblical truth and grow up to be like Jesus Christ. 

      Invite and show others the way to Jesus.

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples.

TRUSTING JESUS IN ADVERSITY IS AN IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHY WE EXIST.

He alone is good and His mercy endures forever. So much why.

CONTEXT Your generous, serving, hospitality sets the stage for people to be set free by God. 

   It gets their attention and points them in the right direction. 

Why does God set the captives free?

   So they can be with Him and His glory can be revealed. 

How is ability tied to faithfulness?

   Through obedience to what the Holy Spirit directs. 

Why does God have His children live in all different places?

   So all those in different places can hear the same save their souls gospel.

WORSHIP Know your role should never end. As a worshipper of God you should always be in word, thought and deed. 

COMMUNITY It’s free to be set free. As a former captive you know the only way is through Jesus. 

SERVICE Faithfully focus your ability. God and others should reap the benefit of your faith and deeds. 

MULTIPLICATION Get together to serve together. Help others to see how they can use their abilities to serve God.

ONE THING What man meant for evil God turned for good.

Ezra 1:7-11

CONTEXT The reality is God can change reality.

What can we learn from Ezra 1:7 about whether or not something is good?

   The good purpose is only possible when it fulfills God’s will.

What can we learn from the truth that God can use anyone to accomplish His will?

   No matter who or what is going on, God’s will is done.

When we have given or used something for God what should be a result?

   We or others are closer to God.

WORSHIP Pursue God’s passions. Ask God to reveal to you why you are doing what you are doing.

COMMUNITY Bring the truth of God into the moment. No matter what is going on the best response is always a Biblical one. 

SERVICE Share to show God cares. Share generously in the name of Jesus for the glory of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.

MULTIPLICATION Free when it’s not about me. Remind others that hurts can be healed, habits can be broken and hang-ups put up forever when we give it all to God.

ONE THING God provides what the faithful need as they seek to fulfill His will. 

Ezra 1:5-6

CONTEXT Faithfulness is your outward expression of love for God and neighbor. 

Who can bring out the best in people?

   God the Father of Jesus, working in and through believers. 

Why does God want to remind us that what we need sometimes is not what we have?

   To help us remember that we should turn to the God who provides. 

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Kneel in prayer, rise to care. Spend time in prayer to prepare to care about what God cares about.

Community: Better together for God’s glory. Fulfill God’s will with other Christians. 

Service: See your stuff as God’s stuff. Help other Christians help other people follow Jesus Christ.

Multiplication: Step up and out in faith. Take steps of faith knowing God is and will provide.

ONE THING Use treasures so God gets the praise and credit.  

Ezra 1:3-4

CONTEXT To build relationships for God to be with, in and among all people. 

Because of who God is He deserves for people to know how they can have a relationship with Him.  

What is the greatest treasure you can have?

  Salvation in Jesus Christ which makes the way for you to have a relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. 

Such a kingdom of God deed fueled mindset

Be assisted by the men of that place = together for God’s will, glory, make disciples   RELY ON GOD

Treasures for God’s good measures = offering freely given to facilitate relationships with God in relatable places. 

How should we use our treasures?

   In ways that will bring God glory and make disciples.

Worship: Don’t leave home without Him. Turn you daily devotional time with God into faithfully following The God.

Community: Pave the way to God each day. Use your best so others will know God’s good will. 

Service: Freely you have received, freely give. Give so others may know God more deeply. 

Multiplication: Unbury the treasure. Give others the chance to use their treasures for God.

ONE THING: We are to make a way for people to find their way to God.

Ezra 1:1-2

CONTEXT: We are to build up in such a way that it facilitates God dwelling in others. 

How do we know when God is stirring our spirit?

   The discernment and deployment is biblically correct.

What is a purpose for building anything God tells us too?

   To help facilitate worship and intimacy with God. 

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Worship: When stirred up, listen up. Ask God to help you understand what He is asking you to do.

Community: Say it, Do it for God. Make sure your actions draw people closer to God.

Service: Share, Give, Get to it. God has given you all you have to use in a God honoring way.

Multiplication: Focus your faithfulness. Ask God where He wants you to help people find Him.

ONE THING: One day God will restore forevermore.

  Until then we get strength and hope for today in all life’s hardships.

1 Peter 5:10-11

CONTEXT: We are called to cope with suffering through hope in Christ.

   We must remember God’s provision is on the way.

Who does the restoring, confirming, strengthening and establishing? Why?

   God, for His eternal glory in Christ and demonstrated by you.

Why is it important to remember that all power resides with God?

   Because it reminds us who to turn to and trust when the waters of life get rough.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Worship: Remember this too shall pass. Ask God to strengthen your faith with the discernment of the seasonalness of suffering.

Community: Cope through hope in Christ. Look to the eternal for today’s strength.

Service: Hand out God’s hope. Remind others that no matter what He can handle it.

Multiplication: Talk about God’s power. Share the stories of God at work.

ONE THING: Jesus has the power to keep you from being devoured. 

   A firm faith, an alert mind and the perseverance of family of God are all because of Jesus. 

1 Peter 5:8-9

CONTEXT: Each day so many things want to keep you from God’s way. 

To dull your mind and lull your soul to destruction. 

How can we prepare for when things that want to harm us come near?

   Study the Bible to be faithful and hopeful in Christ. 

Why does knowing that other Christians suffer and prevail around the world a good thing?

   It encourages and shows us that in Christ we can too. 

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Worship: Wake up the mind. Ask God to show you in the Bible where your faith is still groggy.

Community: Don’t get eaten. Keep an eye out for what is trying to take your soul out. 

Service: Don’t let others play with deadly lions. Lead them away from the destroying way to Jesus Christ’s life everlasting.

Multiplication: Faithful first during the worst. Let others see that Jesus Christ is the one for me. 

ONE THING: Cast it all to the One mighty enough to take care of it all.

1 Peter 5:6-7

CONTEXT: God cares so much to carry the stuff that messes you up.

To what should we turn to when we need uplifted?

   The mighty perfectly timed hand of God.

Why does God want you to cast your anxieties on Him?

   Because He loves to take care of you in ways that draw you closer to Him.  

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Cast all your anxieties on God. He alone provides the best care for you. 

Community: Let God do the lifting up. Trust in word, thought and deed that God will provide all you need.

Service: Help others cast all their anxieties on God. Tell others how the mighty hand of God has helped you.

Multiplication: Celebrate when God liberates. When God provides don’t let it slide, tell someone.

ONE THING: Humility has got to be the response from me. 

1 Peter 5:3-5

CONTEXT: Humble pie or humble hat that’s where you are at with God and others. 

Why is being an example of Jesus Christ the best way to lead all others?

   1 Peter 4:11... in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Why is the return of Jesus Christ so important to helping us stay humble?

   Luke 15:24 Prodigal Son = For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

How can we clothe ourselves in humility?

   Receive grace and release better-than-youness

Worship: Humble yourself before God. Ask God if you are domineering or an example of Christ to those around you. 

Community: Humble yourself before others. Don’t do what you feel like doing but how faith directs you.

Service: Submit yourself to the wiser Christian. Learn from others how to biblically lead others through.

Multiplication: Prioritize Humility. Help others to think of themselves less instead of thinking less of themselves.

ONE THING: We are called to love the way God loves us.

  BIBLICALLY to Love like Christ, Live like Jesus

      Discipline and delight, Faithfulness and friendliness.

1 Peter 5:1-2

CONTEXT: A mature Christian cares for others so they may draw closer to God and become more like Jesus.

   Study your Bible, Pray to God, Serve as God leads.

Peter is calling / inviting / imploring the mature Christians in the body of Christ to action.

Remember all those who are mature in the faith where once immature, it's a process of sanctification and holiness.

Why does Peter emphasize so many things he has in common with other Christians?

   Because the body of Christ is at its best when it is heart, mind, soul and strength are TOGETHER!!!! 

We are to be AMONG each other, to stay committed and return to in-person worship and relationships in community.

We are to LOOK AFTER /CARE for each other with grace, in biblical truth and lovingly.

We are to have the HEART SET to "We don't have to, we get to...bring God glory and make disciples through gospel-centered worship, community, service, multiplication."

We are to OBEY AND FOLLOW THROUGH  with God's will, expressed by His Sovereign Will.

   Created Purpose in action as God directs the use of your time, talents and treasures.

We are faithful to God with BRISK CHEERFULNESS so that others may know God's best.

What is one of the only ways we can accomplish what God would have us to do?

   Together for His glory, His way with cheerfulness, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Learn to discern the Way of God. Study the Bible. Study other mature Christians. Study what God blesses in your life.

Community: Purposely be among other Christians. Make time to take time to spend time with the family of God.

Service: Look after and care for others. Live each day as God would have you.

Multiplication:  Be glad you're a part of the family of God. Your cheerfulness in the midst of faithfulness will draw people towards God's holiness.

ONE THING: God's will is faithfulness to Him over fitting in with them.

When life is hard hope in Heaven. more focus on God and to do good.

1 Peter 4:17-19

CONTEXT: Doing good for God is hard sometimes but always worth it both now and forever.

Why tell all of humanity that judgment has begun?

It shows God’s love publicly, reminds us of our need for Jesus Christ and so we can love others similarly.

How is someone considered righteous?

Salvation and by living life the way the Bible instructs.

Why should we trust God and do good in the midst of our suffering?

It is the best way to handle suffering of any kind.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice. This is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1

Community: Obey God's divine law in everything. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Matthew 6:33

Service: Invite others to worship and walk with Jesus with you. Bring others into how you love like Christ and live like Jesus.

Multiplication: When the going gets tough, give it all to God. Do biblical good to bring God glory and make disciples as often as possible.

ONE THING: Glorify God’s name instead of being ashamed.

 People will want you to suffer for being a Christian, our response is to give God praise and credit.

1 Peter 4:14-16

CONTEXT: Insults are a good thing when you have just done a God thing.

   We exist to bring GOD glory and make disciples.

      That is going to cause people to feel a certain kind of way about life.

How can the spirit of glory and of God rest on you?

   1. Salvation

   2. Bring God glory and make disciples

What do we learn about suffering in 1 Peter 4:15?

   Not all suffering is godly suffering.

What is the way through suffering?

   Proclaim praise and credit to God.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: God’s blessings rest on the Christlike. So study the Bible and walk in relationship with Jesus to be more like Christ.

Community: Suffer for God’s good purpose to be done. It isn’t always easy but it is always better to serve the Lord.

Service: Show the Savior sustains in your suffering. Confidence in Christ instead of control of the circumstances.

Multiplication: Praise and credit for God draws people to God. When they know God’s getting you through it’ll encourage them to follow him too.

ONE THING: Joy in trials, joy in faith, Jesus is on His way.

1 Peter 4:12-13   

CONTEXT: Life is hard on all of us and only Jesus can give us joy through it all.

What should we believe when our Christian faith is tested?

   Remember you are loved and provided for by God.

How should we respond when our Christian faith is tested?

   Joyfully, because Christ stands with us now through the Holy Spirit and one day face to face.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Remind yourself of how much God loves you. Read John 3:16-18, 16:27, 1 Corinthians 8:3, 1 John 4, 5

Community: Faith over freaking out, every time. Remember Jesus has seen and overcome it all before. As a Christian you are in good hands, trust Him. 

Service: Outward joy for others journey. Be a model of faith filled joy as you face trials and tests. It will show others that Jesus is real. 

Multiplication: Tell others Jesus is on His way. To help and one day to stay. 

ONE THING: Biblical good done in Jesus’ name shows God’s grace.

1 Peter 4:9-11

CONTEXT: When you use the gifts God has given you everyone can draw closer to God when you use it!!

Why does grumbling stifle hospitality?

  Because it reveals the heart has already decided it doesn’t want to lovingly serve that way.

Why is it so important to realize the giftedness you have is from God?

  Because when you realize that God has showed you unmerited favor that leads to courageous living. 

Who decides how the gift you have is used?

 God the Father, Jesus Savior & King and the Holy Spirit who guides and comforts. 

Our role, your role, surrender and submission.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Pray to know and refine His gift to you. Ask God for direction and deployment of how to use His grace gift.

Community: Steward well what belongs to God. You have been given gifts not for the advancement of your gratification but God’s glorification. 

Service: Seek to serve others for God. When you serve others for God it will draw them closer to God. 

Multiplication: Gift guide others to God. Let the example of your life lead others to God by way of Jesus and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

ONE THING: There is no time to waste in loving others into the Kingdom of God

1 Peter 4:7-8

CONTEXT: Obedience and endurance to God's will are vital to all loving relationships.

What does it mean to be self-controlled and sober-minded?

   You obey God's Word and keep doing His will.

How can love cover over a multitude of sins?

   By being saved and sanctified.

      By grace through faith and arming ourselves to respond like Jesus Christ.

Based on this message what can you do bring God glory and make disciples?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Love like Jesus is coming back today. Speak like you are at a Christian funeral and live like you are at a wedding feast with Jesus.

Community: Be self-controlled and sober-minded. Pray that God will give you the faith strength of obedience and endurance.

Service: Love your neighbor as yourself. Increase how deep and wide your 1 Corinthians 13 love goes.

Multiplication: Introduce people to Jesus. Share the Biblical truth in brotherly love with others.

ONE THING: Live in the spirit the way God does.

Why should what Jesus wants never be equal to or second place to anything in our life?

   Because He can perfectly do things you could never dream of and lead you through what would destroy.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Be Saved, Be Baptized. Celebrate the Savior's forgiveness of your sins.

Community: Believe, Be Biblical. Be a Christian who brings God's best to a situation.

Service: Be There. Encourage others to live out their faith by how you love them.

Multiplication: Be Aware. Celebrate when Jesus does a good thing in someone's life.

ONE THING: Jesus Christ saves and baptism shows the way. 

   Baptism = An outward public expression of your already inner faith in Jesus Christ. 

1 Peter 3:20

CONTEXT: It's about Jesus Christ who can save and baptism that celebrates that fact.

   If your faith is not public, then it has no purpose.

After baptism how can we prove that our faith in Jesus Christ is real?

1 Peter 3:18-20

Jesus Christ was put to death in the flesh so we could be made alive in the spirit. 

What are two of the many reasons that Jesus suffered on the cross for your neighbor?

   That He might bring us to God and so that we could be made alive in our spirit.  

How can we proclaim the freedom of being saved by grace through faith to our family, co-workers and neighbors?

   Say what the Bible says and do what the Bible says to do. 

For someone who doesn’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior what is so amazing about grace?

   It saves you from the wages of sin which is spiritual death, it is a free gift of God for all who ask and receive it. Heaven waits when you die and Jesus never leaves you or forsakes you in this life. 

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Trust in and obey today. Salvation isn’t an option it’s the only option! Be forgiven and live like it!!!

Community: Proclaim the Way of Jesus. Use your actions and utterances to draw people closer to God and strengthen their biblical responses to life. 

Service: Fill the gaps with grace. Be patient with God, others and yourself. Allow grace to permeate the moment so that Jesus Christ can dwell in the heart. 

Multiplication: Invite others to acts of real kindness with you. Be prepared to engage others with your time, talents and treasures so that they can draw closer to God, saved or not. 

ONE THING: What we do in Christ will reveal the truth of Christ. 

1 Peter 3:16-17

CONTEXT: Jesus Christ has overcome lies and suffering. 

   You can’t control what people say about you but you can influence who they see through you, Jesus Christ. 

Faithfulness starts with your surrenderedness.

Good conscience (biblical morality) and good behavior (biblical responses) in Christ lessens the impact of lies people say about us Christians. 

When we have a good conscience and good behavior in Christ what are some of the benefits?

   We will never have to worry about what people say about us in our faithfulness. 

Doing good for God’s will is a better reason to suffer than because of evil. 

The truth is suffering in this life is inescapable. 

There is a good purpose for suffering in the Sovereignty of God. 

   Suffering for doing God’s will shows He is real because it brings Him glory and makes disciples. 

   Suffering for not doing God’s will shows He is real because it robs us of purpose and joyful contentment. 

Obedience and submission leads to the protection and provision of Christ. 

As a Christian, what are some of the benefits of suffering for doing good?

   We know that Jesus Christ will protect and provide for us through the Holy Spirit no matter what!

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Discover good biblical responses. During your Bible study ask God to show you how to respond to life biblically.

Community: Christlikeness overcomes rumors every time in God’s eyes. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength while loving your neighbor as yourself. 

Service: Suffer with purpose and meaning. Suffering for doing God’s will strengthens your joyful contentment as a Christian. 

Multiplication: Share hope and courage in Christ. Through obedience and submission we can lead others to the protection and provision of Christ.

ONE THING: A heart committed to Christ can endure any hardship. 

        Because the strength comes from Jesus Christ. 2 Cor. 12:9-10

1 Peter 3:13-15

CONTEXT: A strong Christian is not easily swayed away from God’s plan for the day.

What should we remember when we suffer for being a Christian?

   Even if…hardship comes from following Jesus’ Lordship, remember we are always better off in discipleship with Christ.

How does God want us to respond to those who want us to suffer for loving Christ?

   Gently and respectfully without fear or trepidation.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Mimic the Messiah. Turn to God often in solitary places to strengthen your heart for God’s good road before you. 

Community: Suffer well for the Savior. He lived, died, rose again for your freedom from sin. Love like Christ, live like Jesus.

Service: Hand out hope in Jesus. Be ready through study and discerning through the Holy Spirit to share your love for Jesus.

Multiplication: Share the biblical truth in brotherly love. Anyone, anywhere, anytime.

ONE THING: God looks, listens and interacts with everyone.   

1 Peter 3:12

CONTEXT: God has the perfect plan for everything He sees and hears. 

      God sees and hears everything. 

Jesus watches over the righteous. 

Jesus listens to the requests of the righteous. 

How should we respond to Jesus as He looks and listens to us all?

   With Christlike actions (Obediently)and daily conversation (Prayer). 

The Sovereign plan is in place for victory. 

What is the proper response when we discover that Jesus’ face is set against us or someone we meet?

  Turn to Repentance, Receive Forgiveness and Act like Christ. 

Reflect a moment…

When Jesus looks your way what does He see and hear?

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

Worship: Refuge in the living room of Jesus. Learn His ways and responses. Study the Bible and converse with other God fearing Christians. 

Community: Create space for Christlikeness. Make it easy for yourself and others to act, feel, speak and believe in Jesus.

Service: On your knees for the need. Pray specifically for those that Jesus’ has set His face against because they are doing evil. That they will stop doing evil and do biblical good. 

Multiplication: Be a model of biblical obedience and prayer. Lead others to Jesus by being an example of faithfulness and a healthy relationship with God. 

ONE THING: Loving life and seeing good days is a result of living in a God honoring way.

1 Peter 3:10-11

CONTEXT: God's way is always the better way you will learn that from regret or relief.

Regret = I should have...    Relief = I am so glad I did.

God is pretty clear on this point, the outcome of the words you say has a huge impact on all your days. 

How do we keep our tongue from evil and our lips from speaking deceit?

   Because it can stop evil from prevailing, slow down people hurting people and prepares us all for God’s blessings.

Hold nothing back, take nothing back but what He gives.

Why is laying all you love, plan, are, hope for the day and dream for the future at the feet of Jesus always the best action to take? 

   Jeremiah 23:5 Jesus is the righteous King who deals wisely and executes justice. 

Do you need Jesus?

   Yes, for Hosanna, for holiness / sanctification in life.

How does a person, someone like us, actually "lay" something down before Jesus?

   Do what Jesus says to do the way Jesus says to do it.

CONTEXT: God’s best flows most free when the husband is the man he was created to be.

   Husbands come from the ranks of men.

What is a great way to get to know her? LEAD

   Show empathy and encouragement.

What is a great way to cherish her? LOVE

   Love to show her the same dignity, value, worth that God does.

Why would a husbands prayers be hindered for not loving his wife, a daughter of God well?

  God is not okay with husbands who don’t know and cherish their wife.

  God is not okay with men who are not prepared to know and cherish women.

Worship: Love Jesus. The best way for a man to love his wife well is for him to first love Jesus well.

Community: Know her. Through empathy and encouragement increase your understanding of her.

Multiplication: Step Up. Start living out the truth of how a godly man loves a woman biblically. Help boys grow up to men.

ONE THING: Wives are precious and perfectly placed by God.

       God can do so much good in and through a Christian wife.

CONTEXT: God gives wives their purpose, true beauty and hope.

A Christian wife, can lead their husband to Jesus so that he too may be saved from his sin by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

What is something a wife should always remember in her marriage?

    Her hope is in God and her actions can draw her husband closer to Him.

Worship: Draw your husband closer to God. Your actions can win him over to faith and maturity in Christ. So worth it!

Community: Display God's Beauty. Present yourself as the daughter of God, gentle, peaceable and precious. Never exchange these imperishable qualities for worldly trinkets.

Service: Serve God "Even If" he doesn't. Your love for God is rooted in your relationship with God.

Multiplication: Show others how to love well. Let them see you loving your husband in a godly way.

ONE THING: Jesus is THE way, THE truth, THE life. John 14:6 

1 Peter 2:22-25

CONTEXT: Jesus is Lord and savior, He is worthy of your full devotion daily.

Jesus is sin free, passed every test, trial and temptation.

Jesus is truth.

Why is it such a big deal for the average person that Jesus committed no sin?

   Shows His perfection, ability to relate to us, ability to help us 

   overcome temptation and sin.

Jesus turned the other cheek for God's glory and the good of others.

Jesus suffered well by trusting that God would act justly in judgment.

   No attack on those vilifying Him.

Jesus dying on the cross empathizes with our sin. (v21, Matt.26:38)

   Matthew 26:38  38 Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful,  even to death; remain here, and watch[a] with me.”

Jesus alone makes it possible for us to die to sin and live acceptable before God because of His life, death and resurrection.

Jesus is our provider, protector (Shepherd) and authority (Overseer) in all matters Matt. 28:19

When we stray, backslide, fall away, walk away from Jesus what should our immediate response be?

   Stop straying and return to Jesus.

Worship: Learn from Jesus. In prayer, Bible study, community discover how Jesus passed every test, trial, temptation.

Community: Trust God. He can bring a just end to the suffering of others. Model it for them as you move them to Him.

Service: Die to sin and live to righteousness. Our lives are not our own we were bought for a price. Turn to Jesus for strength.

Multiplication: Return to Jesus. The non-Christian can be shown the way to Him. The Christian can be reminded of the way to Him.

ONE THING: It isn't always easy but it is always better to do good for God.

1 Peter 2:18-21

Do good in the name of Jesus, to everyone.

To better prepare and equip you more to face suffering. 

Where does our strength come from to endure suffering when doing good for God's glory?

   God, in your mind and Jesus, in your heart, He suffered too, for you.

To endure suffering for doing good is a gracious thing in the sight of God.

Since there is no escaping suffering this side of Heaven. How does God want us to respond when we suffer for doing good?

   Just like Jesus, with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control

We are called in our suffering to endure and follow in the steps of Jesus.

SALVATION: Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sin free life, He suffered, so that we might be saved by grace through faith from the wages of our sin which is death.

   Jesus Christ is the example of our response to suffering. LIKE HIM.

   Jesus Christ is the focus of our faith when we do good.   IN HIS NAME.

   Jesus Christ is the destination when we do good.    CLOSER TO HIM.

ONE THING: The awe of God leads us from immaturity to maturity as a disciple Jesus. 

Titus 2:11-15

CONTEXT: Jesus graciously brought salvation for all people. PRAISE HIM!!

   Soon He will return again to bring justice, to right all wrongs.

What does a maturing disciple train themselves to do?

   Renounce the bad, live godly lives and be zealous for good works.

What does God want us to remember when we mature disciples?

Be obvious, invite, implore, course correct others, don't give up.

    Give God glory and make disciples.

    Share the biblical truth in brotherly love.

Worship: Train to be a mature disciple. During times of private devotions daily with God focus on your level of awe of Him.

Community: Train to renounce. Say no to ungodliness and worldly passions that hold you back and down from fulfilling God's created purpose for you.

Service: Love God out loud. Live self-controlled, upright, godly lives so that others can experience being in awe of God's goodness.

Multiplication: Invite others to implore with you. As much as possible live for God's glory and make disciples alongside other Christians.

ONE THING: People will know that we are a disciple of Jesus if we love one another. John 13:35

Titus 2:1-10, 15

The contagious characteristics of a maturing Christian man. It's better than better homes and neighborhoods, though that is a byproduct. 

The inspiring actions of a maturing Christian woman. These qualities in the hands of God literally make it easier for people to get to and become like Jesus.

The Word of God, the Bible, is central to helping others through relationship to become like Jesus.

   God can use our humble and generous actions to literally rewrite what a person thinks, says and how they respond to God.

A Disciple acting biblically can lead a lot of people to God who can undo a lot of hurts, habits and hang-ups.

Young women strive to be like Christ following mature women.

   Be where they are more than where they are not.

Young men strive to be like Christ following mature men.

   Be where they are more than where they are not.

One of the hardest things you will do is serve others but it is always better when we live for the Lord. 

   SO THAT in everything you may be a model of Gospel-centered Christlikeness.

 REMEMBER: Everybody answers to someone and everybody will answer someday to the One, God.

How can we start the mentoring process?

   Look around and see who you are already in a relationship with, start with salvation then move forward to becoming more like Christ.

Worship: Observe all the Bible. When you study it in your personal devotional time. Think about how you can speak and act on God's truth.

Community: Go. Embody the qualities and characteristics found in Titus 2:1-10, 15 everywhere. God can do it in and through you, Trust Him.

Service: Mentor Disciples. Do what is best for them to draw closer to God by using your faith and deeds.

Multiplication: Make Disciples. Give others the opportunity to become a Christian. Then help them to become more like Christ.

ONE THING: Acknowledge Jesus before men, Jesus acknowledges you before the Father. Deny Jesus before men, Jesus denies you before the Father in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

God getting the credit for what He has done... stirs the heart affections toward Jesus while drawing people closer to God through the Holy Spirit. 

CONTEXT A person who has yet to love God has a better chance of loving Him when we acknowledge Him. 

A person who loves God will acknowledge His good work. 

WHEN WITH GOD, HE GETS THE CREDIT

Need to see life from a heart, mind, soul and strength tuned to God. 

   Salvation, Bible Study, Prayer, Tithing, Praise are great places to start. 

Why is it more helpful to identify the specific need, want or desire of a person than to just respond with a general Christian response? Daniel 2:19-23

   The more specific you are with your requests the easier it will be for you to give God credit once that request is met. 

   Deep love resides in the details of a relationship. 

   The bonds of an experience shared and credit where credit is due strengthens any relationship. 

WHEN WITH OTHERS, GOD GETS THE CREDIT

Share biblical truth in brotherly love. 

   Help others to see how God is calling, drawing them closer to Him right where they are right now. 

The more specific you are with the credit you give God the easier it will be for others to understand how God is working in their life.

   There is a point to what they have, are and will face. 

How can we know when and where to give God credit?

   Trust the Holy Spirit to lead you through the fear and uncertainty of giving God the credit because it is for everyone’s best if you share how God is good. 

Why is it so harmful to not give God credit for the things He has done?

   We are not spreading His glory across the community and making disciples. 

   The credit we give God should guide everyone by the Holy Spirit, passed the empty cross and tomb ending up at God’s throne. How they respond is up to them.

Worship: Adore God. Tell God how much you appreciate and love what He has done.

Tithe is a grateful response to a generous God from the first fruits of everything in order to show love to God and others. 

CONTEXT: A tithe / tenth – a floor to stand on not a ceiling to reach. The Offering is the above and beyond ceiling to break through.

WHY YOU GIVE

We don't tithe to earn God's love. We tithe because we already have God's love. It is a celebration of gratitude for the love He has shown us.

Rejoice in all the good that the Lord your God has given to you and to your house, others near you, and the Levite, and the sojourner who is among you.

Why do we give God a Tithe / tenth of all He has given us?

Because of our LOVING obedience to what God has commanded us so others will be saved and become like Christ. 

WHEN YOU GIVE

God uses real world giving to generate eternal spiritual blessings and benefits. 

   You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. 

What does God hope for us when we Tithe?

That we would do it faithfully and joyfully.

Worship: Tithe to your local church. Tithe your time. Tithe your talents. Tithe your treasures. A tenth given in person, online, through text.

Community: Publicly praise God for the 90. Give thanks to God in front of others for His many blessings. Sow bountifully and thankfully. 

Service: Make room in your life to Tithe. First priority with your finances and all things for that matter is God. Never take from God and to meet a need or desire. Trust God to meet that need or desire.   

Multiplication: Make a way for others to Tithe. Invite them to join you at the church you call home so they can then tithe their time, talents and treasures.

ONE THING: Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2

Prayer is giving God praise and credit for the great things He has done along with lovingly sharing everything with the One who can do anything.

CONTEXT: Humbly seek God, turn from bad ways, God hears and forgives and heals. A huge sigh of relief, restoration and revitalization.

   Supplication - petition, thing asked for

   Thanksgiving - grateful language to God, Eucharistia, verb 

   Known to God - declare to God

When it comes to prayer it’s just as important about what you lay down as what you pick up from GOD.

Focus on God in prayer. Prioritize Him. 

Use clear, concise, heart, mind soul and strength, God honoring, love filled words. 

What does Matthew 6:5–8 show us about ourselves when we pray?

  Speak from the heart. Honor God. Get to the point. 

What is Jesus’ advice on prayer found in Matthew 6:9?

  When you don’t know what to pray, pray  The Lord’s Prayer, when you do know what to pray, pray The Lord’s Prayer.

Service: Pray for others. J.O.Y. Jesus. Others Yourself. Your heart’s desires but ultimately for God’s will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Multiplication: Ask others to pray. Anyone can pray and everybody should. It’s a good way to get better at it.

ONE THING: The Bible was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4

CONTEXT: God saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5

Who will help us Christians through the upcoming year?

  Good / His purpose = God’s glory, salvation and to make disciples.

We have to measure things in a fresh Biblical way.

Worship: Remember to thank God specifically for the things He has done this year.

Community: Turn down the doom and gloom and turn up the praise and adoration for God with others. Help them to see He is the way the truth and the life.

Service: Others will know what God is like by the way that you love them and serve them. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in the best way to love and serve others.

Multiplication: Invite others to join you in thanking God for the great things he has done. It could be a moment around the dinner table or a longer conversation at work but nonetheless invite them to join you and praising God.

ONE THING: God sent Jesus to save, not condemn you or the world.

CONTEXT: Jesus is real, He is alive and you have already responded to this truth.

Why God gave His Son = love and eternal life, Emmanuel God with us.

   It is important as a Christian to remember we are loved by God and He set us free.

SALVATION: Believe in Jesus and not perish and have eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, 1 Cor.15:3-4

What does God want us to do with the free gift of salvation Jesus makes possible?

   It’s so simple, receive the gift, open the gift, enjoy the gift of saved by grace through faith.

What is actually the condemner of our life right now?

   Sin of not believing in Jesus, only son of God.

So how do we move from someone who loves darkness to someone who loves light?

   Have faith and deeds that are good. That bring God praise and credit and draw people closer to God.

Worship: A Living Sacrifice

Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Community: We must take every opportunity to help people move closer to becoming a Christian. Because they choose to not believe in Jesus they stand condemned. Be as Christlike as possible in word, thought and deed.

Service: The way you sacrificially and generously love others helps their soul, which has become accustomed to the darkness, adjust to the light of Jesus' love and salvation.

Multiplication: Shoulder tap others to join you in becoming more like Jesus. Invite them to your home, coffee, your home church, Bible Discussion group, for a walk or just hangout. Weave in the God's love through Jesus as you journey together.

ONE THING: The joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

Luke 1:45-55

CONTEXT: It is time to remember what God has done for you!!! 

Mary is a wonderful example of joy. 

How can we know we have joy?

   When we knowingly make a mega big deal about God.

How can we help others have the joy that Jesus gives?

   By helping others become servants of God, that is where joy lies.

ONE THING: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Zechariah 9:9,11-12, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

CONTEXT: There is a lot to celebrate when you have been set free and captured by the Messiah Jesus Christ.

What is God calling us to do based on Zechariah 9:9?

   Celebrate publicly the King of kings, Our savior Jesus Christ.

      Baptisms, Christmas meaning, being saved, inviting other into our journey with Jesus, etc.

How can a person be set free from any prisons caused by sin?  

   The free saving grace of the Savior what has come, the reason we celebrate Christmas, Jesus.

How do we celebrate the arrival of Jesus Christ?

   By being faith-filled and faithful to God.

ONE THING: Your hope is in Christ, because of Christ and demonstrated through Christlikeness.

Jeremiah 33:14-16

To celebrate and act on the arrival of Jesus.

CONTEXT: Our hope should be built on nothing less than Jesus' love and righteousness.

God is the best place for your hope to rest, because God always keeps His promises.       

From within a "Life is tough get used to it." world the branch of King David brings hope that the Messiah will execute justice (make wrong things right) and righteousness (rightness and moral virtue before God).

SALVATION: The hope of a secure deliverance from sin and eternal death. Save and secure in Christ now matter what happens. You need a Savior because of sin and you need rescued because of sins effect on you and the world.

Righteousness is given by God through Christ as displayed by responding to life biblically.

ONE THING: Give thanks to the Lord, His love endures forever.

Psalm 136

CONTEXT: Gratefulness leads to contentment that leads to a joyful commitment to God.

To be more thankful than hurtful. Joy over jealously. Contentment over lust.

How does God giving food to all show that He is good?

   Overall care and compassion for all humanity

How does God rescue us?

SALVATION: God is rescuing you. Don’t fight Him, let go of sin and be born again.

ONE THING: Serving God is the best way to live free.

   Because a set free servant of God is more free than those who are all about the Me.

1 Peter 2:16-17

CONTEXT: The boundaries God sets for your life actually provide the framework for the greatest freedoms.

SALVATION: Without God's saving grace you will be crushed by the cover up of your sin now and in eternity.

What should we do with all the freedom God gives us? 

Live free and serve Him.

What are the three actions God wants us to do every day?

   Honor, Love, Fear. A daily posture to put into practice.

Honor = Dignity value worth in all.

SALVATION: Being saved by grace through faith for the forgiveness of your sins is the first step to living for God.

No power but God, resist what God ordained, you resist God. NOT GOOD.

Seek to do biblical good instead of evil that gets punished.

    A driving guideline to how you approach life and reflects your relationship with God. 

How can we know when we do something it is good?  

   Good is when God gets the glory (praise & credit) and disciples are made.

ONE THING: Christians point the way to God's salvation day.

CONTEXT:  A Christian's biblical actions will help push back the darkness of evil.

   You are being attacked from the outside so that you will hide the goodness of God on the inside.

SALVATION: To be set free from Sin by grace through faith. That is the purpose of God's visit.

What is some good advice to help us abstain from the passions of the flesh?

   Feed the soul more than you indulge the flesh.

Why do we want people to see our good deeds we do for God?  

   Because Good deeds show God to be good.

ONE THING:  God chooses to send you so that He can set people free

1 Peter 2:9-10

CONTEXT:  To be welcomed home through salvation into God the Father's compassion.

   Out of darkness, orphaness and mercy into God's light, family and mercy.

SALVATION: There is a darkness, sin that plagues all of humanity. It's final cost will be separation from God and all good things forever. Its current cost is a lengthy list of suffering, unfullfillment and darkness. Only by being forgiven of your sins by grace through faith because of Jesus' death and resurrection can you be spared from this judgment.

CHOSEN & COMMISSIONED

What does God call us to do with all the good He has done? 

PROCLAIM HIS EXCELLENCIES

   Proclaim (Show forth, tell out, celebrate ) the excellencies (virtue, moral goodness) of Him who called you.

COMPASSION

What does God want someone who is not a Christian to do with His mercy? 

BE SAVED

Once not a people, now God's people

As a Christian, what does God want us to do with the mercy He has given us?  

HELP THE AFFLICTED

Once not received mercy, now received mercy 

(Compassion to help the afflicted)

ONE THING: Life's journey with Jesus is for our own good and God's glory.

1 Peter 2:4-8

CONTEXT:   The method and means of your life are not meant to be of greater importance than God's will for you.

SALVATION: Disgrace can leave no hope. Jesus died so you might truly, fully live in difficult and not so difficult times.

JOURNEY WITH JESUS - RESPOND

   God says Jesus is appointed and anointed.

BE BUILT UP - RESPOND

   A house of holiness that provides biblical self-denial for the good of those along for your Jesus journey.

   Disobedience leads to stumbling and stumbling is the result of all who disobey. Flat on your face as you seek joy and deliverance of life.

CONTEXT:  So much life happens and God desires for us to become more and more like Jesus.

   In these passages, nourishment for the soul and action for life. 

SALVATION: Then a relationship with Jesus, there is so much good to experience from God, forgiveness, strength, purpose and on and on and on.

What does God tell us to do with all malice, deceit, hypocrisy and slander?

  Maturity - by longing for Christ, Word of God more than sin

ONE THING: What matters most is what matters to the Most High God.

CONTEXT:  Holiness means being totally devoted and dedicated to God, set aside for his special use and set apart from sin and its influence.

SALVATION: Be born again through Jesus the imperishable, living and abiding / dwelling Word of God.

All flesh (man-made accomplishments and outcomes apart from God) withers and falls.

Word of Lord remains forever

1 Corinthians 15:3-4: A major focus for all Christians.

ONE THING: God is still on the throne. 

1 Peter 1:20-21

CONTEXT:  Holiness means being totally devoted and dedicated to God, set aside for his special use and set apart from sin and its influence.

SALVATION: It is only through belief that Jesus is the Son of God and Lord that we can be saved from our sin penalty. Confess, Believe, be saved by God's grace through faith.

Jesus Christ and His purpose has always existed, before there was existence.

This is it, your last times, your last days. You are so close to eternity, don't forget that, let it compel you to live biblically.

God strengthens our faith and fuels our hope. 

Set aside for his special use.

Faith (Inner) and hope (things to come) are in God =

ONE THING: The price Jesus paid on the Cross is worth our full devotion to God.

1 Peter 1:17-19

Christians know what we were / are ransomed from something terrible to something tremendous. 

CONTEXT: Sanctification is all that God does in you and through you to create you into the image of Jesus Christ.

SALVATION: Jesus gave His life for the forgiveness of your sins. He made this way through God's judgment so you won't not have to pay the price of sin that He has already paid for through the Crucifixion. Be saved by grace through faith. 

Everyone's deeds will be judged by God the Father, comforting thought of urgency.

Something is futile when it is outside of God's will, the example of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. (Bible a tremendous way forward)

Perfect, sacrificial, Messiah = He paid the price for our redemption by His precious blood.

To which we all should respond... by conducting ourselves in a way that brings God joy, glory and help other people want a relationship with Jesus.

ONE THING: Be holy as God is holy.

1 Peter 1:13-16

Every choice has a consequence that transforms something because of its influence.

We cannot become holy on our own, Holy Spirit given help us obey and the power to overcome sin.

ONE THING: Jesus has been, is now and always will be Savior of all.

Prophets serve not themselves but others / you so that when the grace is shared it will be received in order to fulfill God's will and bring Him glory.

CONTEXT: A passion filled reminder of the camaraderie shared among Christians, Jesus.

   You are not alone or purposeless, you are part of God’s family.

   The Holy Spirit and Word of God will show you the way!

Blessed are they who believe and love without seeing, laying eyes on Jesus.

   Embrace in faith (Study the Bible, Pray) and 

   Demonstrate in deeds (serve God and others before our own needs)

   For the glory of God and to make disciples of others.

ONE THING: Faith In God will produce treasures out of trials.

1 Peter 1:6-7

In God's hands suffering doesn’t destroy faith it refines it.

Hardships are handy and helpful even though they hurt.

Your faith may produce praise (verbal) honor (actions perceived) glory (truth of name and renown) at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (Second coming, Jesus in life now = assurance of salvation = the goal)

Respond in real life = a point of your faith is to produce verbal praise, biblical actions and deeper relationship with Jesus Christ in others and self. 

   Sometimes modeling it = faith planting 

   Sometimes seeing it in yourself = faith bearing fruit

   Sometimes seeing it in others = harvesting faith

ONE THING: The Holy Spirit is vital to living a fulfilling Christian life together.

God will give us a new heart, His Holy Spirit will dwell in us, He will remove our heart that will lead us to death and replace it through the Holy Spirit with a heart that lives out loud eternal life.

   We walk in the statutes of God.

      We study to model the teachings of God.

   We carefully obey God's rules.

      We model to demonstrate  the truth of God.

ONE THING: As a Christian you will find more wholeness living as a part of the body of Christ.  

Ephesians 4:4-6, 15-16  

To get where Jesus Christ wants us to go we are best off doing it together, it's what He wants.    

It is good and pleasing to God when the body is together and acts together.  

Your fulfillment comes when you take all your time, talents, treasures to bring God glory and make disciples.    

Let Jesus Christ be the one to dictate what gets done. His will be done.     

You = trust and obey = like milk, it does a body good.  

Align yourself with Jesus more and more each day. 

Work out your salvation Christian to become like Jesus Christ.    

Study your Bible with God and others.    

Pray to God with others.    

COMMIT YOURSELF ENTIRELY TO    

Serve God with others.    

JESUS CHRIST.    

Fail and succeed for God.  

Worship deeply, Community well, Serve God and others, Multiply God's best everywhere.

ONE THING: The invitation must be indication of the destination, God.

Come and see God cut through the hardship of life.  

Come and see a God that if He is for us who can be against us?  

Awesome = God at work in noticeable and discernible ways in, through and around us.

ONE THING: God’s way is the best for all.

Live out a God honoring, Christ following example.   

You won’t feel like, want to, naturally be able to act this way on your own, that is the point.   

You need a / have a saved relationship with Jesus and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit to demonstrate them.

ONE THING: Let nothing keep you from following Jesus.  

Luke 9:59-62  

People encountered Jesus where and when life was happening. His message is always the same “Follow Me”, their response had an eternal impact on their life.

ONE THING: Full focus on Jesus is what the world needs from you.

Galatians 1:11-12 

 ONE THING: Throw yourself into following Jesus.  

John 21:7-17,25 

A life distracted from God can be easily disintegrated.   

A life focused on God can be better repassioned with purpose.  

Threw himself… 

Peter was at work and threw himself to be fulfilled by Jesus. 

Peter was among friends and threw himself toward Jesus as an example to others. 

Peter was drifting away from Jesus and threw himself be reconciled to Jesus.  

Where does the assurance come from? Confession of faith and public action.   

Feed my lambs = Keep exampling (faith & deeds) Christ likeness to the young Christians, with no faith. 

Tend my sheep = Give grace and justice to Christians. 

Feed my sheep = Keep exampling (faith & deeds) Christ likeness to the mature Christians.  

When it comes to the Gospel-Centered life it is always love Jesus first, action next.

ONE THING: In God's hands your past can propel you to an incredible present.  

John 20:19-23, 27-29, 31 

Jesus' grace and justice bring out God's best in our life. It isn't always easy, what truly good things are, but it is always better serving Jesus than anyone or thing else.   

We have all had some major missteps/bad decisions. Jesus can redeem and rewrite those results. Our failures through salvation become his victories that brings God glory and others closer to God.   

Jesus can overcome any roadblock in our life. So that we can freely live out His created purpose for our life.  

The obstacle before you is not greater than the object of your salvation, Jesus Christ.  

For your good and God’s glory.

People who know better than others because experts, we trust them, the lien them, follow their lead. No one knows better thank God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Trust and obey them there is no better way.    

Jesus knows that first you believe in Him then have life in Him in this tough, cruel, challenging, world that also has joy in it as well.

ONE THING: Give all your heart, mind, soul, strength, time, talents and treasures to Jesus and the fulfillment of God's will.  

John 19:16-18, 30, 33-35 

At WORK show your co-workers where you stand biblically. 

In WORSHIP so that it is about God's glory. 

At HOME making the hard transforming decision that no matter who comes through that door you will lead them closer to Jesus. 

At PLAY enjoy all the fullness of life within the guardrails of the Bible.  

Though our faith in God is personal it is not always private.  An always private faith can easily become a secret faith that no one knows about at all.   

Christian faith thrives in community that seeks to give God glory and draw others closer to Christ no matter the cost.   

Your created purpose, foundational calling, is to live in such an influential way, that others may also believe.  

Your biblical actions are undeniable evidence that God is real, He loves others and you love both.

ONE THING: Your relationships, regardless of status, should seek to bring Jesus glory (name & renown) and help others to believe in Him. 

John 2:1-12 

The servants here had decided in their heart to do what Jesus tells them to do. That is the beautiful freedom in being a servant in a relationship.   

Your goal isn't what is best for you but what is God's best for everyone!  

If the invitation to Jesus is "Come and See" then the expectation of all our relationships should always be "Faith and Deeds".

ONE THING: The Holy Spirit of Truth is your great Helper.  

John 14:15 - 17, 26 - 27 

Where do we start in gaining wisdom? Love God. Become more and more like Jesus.   

The outcomes of life and relationships will never be God's best when we act outside the Helper's, Counselor's, Comforter's, Advocate's, Holy Spirit's direction.  

We will know when to do the right thing because of a close relationship with the Holy Spirit.
