What Is BSU you ask? The Black Student Union (BSU) is an organization comprised of members who are interested in or already share a love for Black culture. The goal is to celebrate Black culture, educate students on Black history, promote academic excellence and pride, and teach leadership skills through interactive projects and activities inside and outside of school. Ms. Foster and a few students get together to talk, laugh, and share in their first episode of 2022.  Enjoy!

What is CRPS? Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a form of chronic pain that usually affects an arm or a leg. CRPS typically develops after an injury, a surgery, a stroke or a heart attack. The pain is out of proportion to the severity of the initial injury. Can CRPS Be Cured? There's no known cure for complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), but a combination of physical treatments, medicine and psychological support can help manage the symptoms. It's estimated around 85% of people with CRPS slowly experience a reduction in their pain and some of their symptoms in the first two years. How Bad Is CRPS? Pain is the main symptom of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).  It may be a burning, stabbing, stinging or throbbing pain. The affected limb is often extremely sensitive to touch. Even light stroking or the weight of clothing can cause severe pain. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is a severely disabling condition that usually affects the limbs, after injury or surgery. The main symptoms are severe pain, swelling, loss of range of motion, temperature changes, and changes in the skin. Why Is November Awareness For CRPS? Throughout the month of November every year for the last 20 years, the CRPS community and their families and supporters around the world come together to help raise awareness of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. We know it as CRPS Awareness Month. November is CRPS awareness month.  The first Monday in November is dedicated to bringing awareness to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy with¨Color the World Orange Day.¨ Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS) involves high levels of nerve impulses sent to an affected site in the body. Is CRPS  A Disability? Is Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) A Disability? The chronic pain caused by CRPS can drastically reduce your quality of life. The symptoms can interfere with your sleep, your job, your relationships, and even your mental health. Unquestionably, CRPS is a disabling condition. Why is it called ¨Suicide Disease¨ Take unrelenting pain, fatigue, weakness and limited mobility added to isolation and depression and that combination alone explains why CRPS is called the Suicide Disease. It is a condition that won't kill you, and, that's the bad news. There is danger in the present political climate. Can CRPS Be Permanent? Most cases of CRPS are permanent. If diagnosed and treated early, CPRS may disappear permanently but in most patients the goal is to reduce the pain and slow down the progression of symptom severity.
