Family Seasons Podcast Presents: Single Mom, I See You by Coach Teia

Being a single mom is not a curse! No matter how we arrived at the destination of parenting alone, we must understand that God has a plan for our families also. Intentional parenting is met with many challenges and obstacles. We must remain committed to the task at hand. As a single mom, I am blessed, my children are blessed, and our home is blessed. I speak blessings and expect favor over my family. Words have power. These positive words of affirmation that I have spoken over my two daughters since birth, are being manifested in their lives daily. I don’t have this attitude because everything is perfect or because my children are perfect, for we are imperfectly serving a perfect God. I understand that my words have power! Recently, God downloaded a word for single mothers that I felt led to share on the podcast. These are intended to not just be words of actions but also words of actions. I discuss the power of forgiveness, duplication, and implementation. Let’s change the trajectory of our children’s lives. Single mom, I see you! Listen to this episode of Family Seasons Podcast if you are a single mom. I promise you, it will bless you and your family abundantly. www.familyseasonspodcast.com Coach Teia ❤️

Remembering My Mom, Mildred Jones

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a previously recorded conversation that I had with my mom, Mildred Jones. During this episode, both she and I talked about her love for her family and for God. We discussed her strengths and her weaknesses. We talked about her faith during her illness. Today and always, I honor the legacy of my mother, Mildred Jones (10/9/41 - 3/13/21).

The Favor of God is Incomparable and It Should be Inseparable with Coach Teia

The Favor of God is Incomparable and It Should be Inseparable with Coach Teia

Thank you so much for listening to Family Seasons Podcast. Today's podcast is to give parents hope and inspiration about the favor that is already upon their children's lives.  There's absolutely nothing that compares to the favor of God. And let the [gracious] favor of the Lord our God be on us (Psalms 90:17 AMP) The Bible. When we have the favor of God, we have an advantage. We can expect God's blessings and promises to come to pass on our lives.  Listen to this podcast to learn how I began to activate that favor over my children.  As always, thank you for listening. Please visit www.familyseasonspodcast.com for the latest episodes.  I'm praying for your family to win! - Coach Teia

Gratitude in Relationships with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

Thank you for joining us for Season 13 as we continue talking about Gratitude. In this episode, my cohost and I discuss the importance of showing gratitude in our relationships.  Gratitude builds stronger relationships by creating an attitude of appreciation and respect. When there is a lack of gratefulness, there is also a lack of trust and honor. Relationships suffer when there is no gratitude.  Let's spend more time building relationships that practice gratitude daily.  Thanks so much for listening. Teaching Our Children About Gratitude

Teaching Our Children About Gratitude

Teaching our children about gratitude is so important. When we teach them to be grateful and thankful beyond their emotions, we are instilling a sense of gratitude that will last a lifetime. As adults, our role is to encourage children to express appreciation for all of the things that they have. We can do that by being an example of a grateful person. Thanks for listening and sharing! Building A Support Team with Coach Teia

Building A Support Team with Coach Teia

Building a Support Team is often necessary if you're planning to do any great thing in life. Here are five tips that I use to help me in building the type of support system that I need as a single mom, a caregiver, a podcaster, a business owner, and so much more. 1. Be committed.  2. Pray for supporters and those who can bless your team. 3. Acknowledge God in all that you do. 4. Acknowledge your supporters. 5. Stay the course.  Listen to the podcast at www.familyseasonspodcast.com to hear me describe each one of these tips.  As always, thank you for listening, and Happy International Podcasters Day! - Coach Teia #coachteia

A Prayer & Psalms 91 for Women with Coach Teia

A Prayer for Women Today: Today’s episode is dedicated to women. May you find God's peace and presence as you listen to this podcast. May He bless you abundantly.  Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God 91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the [a]fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall [c]bear you up, Lest you [d]dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will [e]set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With [f]long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.” Source: Bible Gateway Thanks for listening, Coach Teia www.familyvision2020.com

I’m looking forward to what God has in store for us, as we learn to be courageous and manifest everything He has planned for us when we learn to Do It Afraid! Teia ❤️ www.familyseasonspodcast.com

Season 11 Episode 6: Creating Work/Life Balance for Your Family with Coach Teia

Season 11 Episode 6: Creating Work/Life Balance for Your Family with Coach Teia

How Do You Define Balance for Your Family? 1. Erase the definition of balance you’ve always known and create what it looks like your family only 2. Set your priorities in order of Immediate, Later, and Whenever. Be sure to include self-care and family time as top priorities. 3. Write it down and place it around the house for everyone to have it. 4. Be flexible. Life events will change how your family defines balance. Make adjustments as needed. 5. Offer forgiveness and grace when you fall short of your plans/schedule. Things won’t always go as planned and it’s okay. 6. Reward yourself and family when you’ve accomplished things that you planned. For more information or to schedule a coaching session for this topic and more, visit www.familyvision2020.com. Seasons 11, Episode 5 - Overcoming False Accusations with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

There’s nothing like being falsely accused and hurt by someone that you love. To know that someone you’ve done so much for or spent so much time has falsely accused you can be devastating. It’s natural to be hurt and disappointed by the accusations but it’s better to get through it. The word of God warns us against trials and tribulations. John 16:33King James Version 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. - Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour www.familyseaonspodcast.com

Episode 4: Are You A Wife or Are You Wife Material? - Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

Episode 4: Are You A Wife or Are You Wife Material? - Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

I recently read a Facebook post that my cohost, Damian, had posted. In his post, he was sharing his personal viewpoint on what a woman being ‘wife material’ meant to him. Here is an excerpt of what he says: Real talk... She no longer classifies herself as "Wife Material", because she clearly understands that material is PARTIAL, not WHOLE. You don’t find a suit or a dress in the material section of a store, you find material in the material section. While that material has the potential to become a suit or a dress, it is merely potential, until it has gone through the process of becoming. When a woman classifies herself as “wife material”, what she is saying is that she has the potential to be a wife, but hasn’t been processed. What few women realize, is that the unmarried man who is seeking a wife, is looking for the woman who is ALREADY a wife (not literally), not the woman who has the potential to become a wife. Are you a wife, or are you wife material? - Damian After reading this, I suggested to him that we should talk about on the podcast..and so here we did. I’d love to know your thoughts on this topic. What makes a woman a wife, or wife material? Email us at info@coachteia.com to share your thoughts. In the meantime, have a great day! Coach Teia

How far would you go to protect your family? Do you know how you would react to someone harming your children or other loved ones? In this podcast, I ask a very important question..How Far Should We Go To Protect Our Loved Ones? If we react, are we prepared to deal with the consequences of our decisions? When should we get involved and when is a better time to let the person handle their own issues? These are just a few questions discussed in this podcast. I’d love to know what you think. As a black woman myself, I’ve experienced many of the things these young ladies discuss, I understand. Hopefully, these conversations will begin in the homes of our listeners and continue in the classroom and into the boardroom. It’s time for change!

God Can Do All Things But Fail by Family Seasons by Coach Teia

God Can Do All Things But Fail - Recently I was listening to one of my favorite songs that shares this same message. I thought about how much assurance this song gives us in knowing that God cannot fail. In life, we’ll all experience man’s failure. We’ll also fail others, although it is not our intentions. To know that God cannot fail teaches us that we can trust Him with every issue of our lives. He can be trusted. I pray that this podcast will bless your life in a way that encourages you to put your trust in God. He cannot and will not fail! www.familyseasonspodcast.com

Navigating The Holidays After A Death with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

As many of us know, the holidays can already be quite stressful. The urge to make the perfect meals or to find the perfect gift is enough to put anyone in mental overload. Add on losing a loved one or facing the holidays with the loss of a family member and that makes it even more challenging. In this week’s podcast, my cohost and I talk about how we navigate the holiday season after the death of a loved one. We discuss ways to remember them in special ways during the holiday season. After losing two of the most important people in my life this year, I personally share how my family and I are preparing to remember them by creating new traditions. Navigating the holidays during the holidays is hard and extremely challenging but we must go through this process of grief. Thanks for listening to Family Seasons by Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour!

Making Sacrifices with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

At a recent garage sale for our Girl Scout Troop, I noticed two women who gave us donations. There were others who gave donations but because I know a little about these women, their giving made a huge impact. Listen to this week’s podcast, Making Sacrifices, to hear more about their impact. Remember, God loves a cheerful giver: “Now [remember] this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to others] will also reap generously [and be blessed]. Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift].” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:6-AMP Thanks for listening and sharing. Season 8, Episode 2: There’s Freedom in Forgiveness with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

Many of us have or will experience some type of trauma that causes us pain. This pain can so easily lead to unforgiveness. Personally, I recognize that unforgiveness leads to hatred, brokenness, despair, and so much more. It becomes heavy to carry the load of unforgiveness. I knew that in order for me to live a healthier life, I had to forgive. God’s word teaches us that forgiveness is necessary in order to enter the kingdom. God knows that it’s sometimes hard, yet it’s a requirement to truly living a kingdom life. “and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬ There’s freedom in forgiveness! - Coach Teia

Season 7: Using The Power of Compromise in Parenting

Compromise is about meeting one another halfway. In parenting, specifically with preteens and teens, I believe that compromise is essential. In this episode, I share a personal experience of how compromising has helped me validate my children’s thoughts and ideas. When we compromise in certain situations, we’re finding neutral, yet common ground. Listen to this podcast and share with others. Thanks always. ~ Coach Teia

Season 7: Episode 3 - Offering Grace and Mercy in Parenting with Coach Teia

Season 7: Episode 3 - Offering Grace and Mercy in Parenting with Coach Teia

Grace & Mercy are freely given to us daily by God. Grace offers us compassion and understanding while mercy gets us out of receiving the punishment we often deserve. Parenting requires offering grace and mercy to our kids just as God offers it to us. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t discipline our kids. It means that when we do, let’s remember God’s grace and mercy. Coach Teia www.coachteia.com

Season 7: Parenting- Healthy Discipline

As a Christian Family Life Coach and a mom, my job is to help other families learn how to discipline in a healthy way. The Bible tells us to “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” ~ Proverbs 22:6 Healthy Discipline Tips: 1) Never Discipline out of anger, 2) Discuss the expectations and rules of the home beforehand and often, 3) Be cautious of the words we use, 4) Define the end result of discipline, and. 5) Talk about the situation later. Season 7: Parenting & The Power of The Push

Season 7: Parenting & The Power of The Push

The time comes when the Eagle pushes her eaglets out of the nest. Her intent is not to harm them. She knows that at some point, unless she pushes them into their flying position, they’ll become too big for the nest and they’ll never learn to fly on their own. That’s the same with parenting. Our responsibility is to teach our children to someday become independent, well-rounded adults. It starts when we push them out of their comfort zone and into their purpose. They’ll never know how well they can fly if we allow them to resist every thing they’re not comfortable doing. We have to push them into the things that’s holding them back like fear, intimidation, disbelief, low self-esteem, etc. Like the Eagle, we don’t push them to harm them. In fact, it’s our love for them that makes us take the initiative to do it. Listen to the latest podcast episode as I discuss this personal topic and the power of the push. How Strongholds Affect Relationships with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

How Strongholds Affect Relationships with Coach Teia & Damian Dalcour

Strongholds are defined as anything that keeps or hinders you from living your intended purpose. At some point in all of our lives we’ve had something or someone hindering our growth. Maybe we’ve been the person selfishly holding on to someone. Maybe we’ve noticed our kids in unhealthy relationships. Maybe you’re dealing with a stronghold now and don’t know how to break it. What we do know is that God wants us free. He wants us available to live out the life He’s prepared for us. I hope that this podcast will help you determine if there’s something holding you back from God’s very best for you and how to break free from it. Strongholds were meant to be destroyed. Coach Teia

Sunday Vibes with Coach Teia: Self-Care

Sunday Vibes with Coach Teia: Self-Care

In this Sunday Vibes, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m discussing Self-Care. Did you know that no matter how fancy or expensive a car is, if it’s on empty, it’s of no benefit to anyone? If you’re running on empty as a mom, dad, caretaker, entrepreneur, etc you have to find ways to replenish or refuel. As you’ve heard many times before, you cannot pour from an empty glass. You can’t give what you don’t have. Self Care is essential to managing your mental health. If you’re unable to function properly, you’ll find yourself operating at a disadvantage and dysfunctional. That helps no one in the long-run, especially those you love. Listen to this Sunday Vibes as I discuss ways to care for yourself so that you can better care for others. Take care of you! There’s Power in Your Words by Coach Teia

The tongue can bring life or death, Proverbs 18:21.⁣ Our words can build or they can destroy.⁣ When we’re talking to our kids, it’s very important to remember that once something is said, it can’t be erased.⁣ We can ask for forgiveness of something we said but unfortunately the damage has already been done.⁣ As Bishop Jakes recently mentioned, a pen has no eraser. ⁣ For this reason, we must remember that words, both bad and good, are etched into the hearts and minds of our kids.⁣ What we tell them is what they become.⁣ What are you telling your kids?⁣ ⁣ -Coach Teia ⁣ www.familyvision2020.com⁣

Dealing With Healthy, Broken, and Toxic People

Dealing With Healthy, Broken, and Toxic People

The other day I heard Bishop RC Blakes talking about the three types of men: healthy, broken, and toxic. I listened to his Instagram post several times. I even sent it to a few people. This message immediately made me think of not just men, but women also.  As a Family Life Coach, I see families and parents on a regular basis. I would say that these three categories are befitting of parents and other adults. Healthy people want others to be healthy. They share and show their support.    Broken people have been hurt and are, unfortunately, still in that place of hurt. They've never gotten over the things that happened to them in their past. Sometimes, they can be loved back to health. Other times they are so broken that they become toxic. Broken people are challenging to love.  Toxic people are often broken people that never recovered. They were abused, not they are an abuser. They were hurt, now all they do is hurt. Healthy, Broken, and Toxic..which are you? - Coach Teia www.coachteia.com

Day 10 of 12 Days of Podcast: Seasonal Depression in Children with Coach Teia

Fall and Winter are most prevalent because of the shorter days, getting darker sooner. As a parent, when are children are hurting, we hurt also. Many children are dealing with depression because their schools have closed or they can no longer be with friends.  I hope that this podcast will help you as much as it helps me in both my professional and personal life. Gratitude Changes Everything by Coach Teia

Gratitude Changes Everything by Coach Teia

It has been said that gratitude brings a peace that is indescribable. 2020 has caused many of us to question whether there is truly anything to be grateful for. Many have lost jobs, our homes, loved ones, our financial security, and so much more as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our children have gone from attending a school building to taking virtual classes from the kitchen table.  Some once bragged on their overflowing pantries to waiting in line for hours at the food bank to feed the family. 2020 has been tough no doubt but in all of that, there are still so many things to be grateful for.  Listen to this podcast as I reflect on the things that we should still be grateful for. When we change our perception, we create peace that helps us get through these tough times.    Today, I challenge you to change your perception. When you decide to be grateful, it changes everything. - Coach Teia, Your Family Life Coach www.coachteia.com I really want your family to win.

Finish Strong - SEASON 2 Finale

Finish Strong - SEASON 2 Finale

As I kept trying to work on Season 3 of the podcast, I kept thinking of how I’d never formally finished Season 2. ⁣ ⁣ In a conversation with my daughter about the importance of finishing her homework assignments, it stayed in the back of my head that I needed to finish what I started.⁣ ⁣ During this season, I’ve had an opportunity to share so many topics that I hope have been relevant to my audience. We’ve talked about plant based diets, dealing with Covid-19, racism in America, and so much more. ⁣ ⁣ We’ve dealt with the other effects of divorce and growing up fatherless. We’ve also had a conversation with a black father that wanted to share words of empowerment with other black men in America.⁣ ⁣ For Season 3, we’re going deeper. Stay tuned and whatever you started, remember to finish strong!⁣ ⁣ Coach Teia ⁣ www.coachteia.com

A Black Mom, A White Mom - Different, Yet Alike with Cher Kretz

In this episode, I have a conversation with a fellow mom who I recently met when she stepped out of her comfort zone and reached out to me. We instantly connected on so many levels, both professionally and personal. Cher and I have many similarities such as being in the field of serving families, being life coaches, and completely passionate about serving others. We both love our families and have similar religious beliefs. We’re fellow podcasters and love talking about everything related to life. Cher is a white mom raising white daughters. I am black mom raising black daughters. We live in two different parts of the country. We’ve never been to each other’s hometown but we both deal with the summer heat. We both agree that there’s much power in stepping out of our comfort zones to meet new people and to learn about different cultures and communities. We both agree that Black Lives Matter too. Racism in America - Your Silence is Too Loud

Racism in America - Your Silence is Too Loud

When we refuse to acknowledge the racist acts going on in our communities, are we becoming a part of the problem. People asks what can they do to get involved and the answer is simple..say something. Protestors are walking the streets of America right now saying that they believe the racist acts against blacks is wrong. They believe that with their voices, change will take place. The protests are against racism, not a race. The anger is about how so many blacks are killed by racist white cops and racist white people. The looting and the protests are two completely different things but two different groups of people with two different motives. When we remain silent, we feed the racism.

Talking To Your Kids About The Pandemic

Talking To Your Kids About The Pandemic

The Coronavirus has cause a pandemic for our world. Most of us have been affected, particularly our children. The world as they know it has seemingly stopped without warning. The stores have closed. Schools are now closed so learning at home is the only option. Extracurricular activities that they were once involved in have all ceased. They are probably asking questions. I believe that if a child is old enough to ask a question they should receive an age appropriate (or mental capacity) answer. In this podcast I’m sharing ways to make this a learning opportunity that will benefit our children during this pandemic and in their everyday lives. Learn more at www.coachteia.com

CAREGIVERS NEED SUPPORT WITH SHERRI ANDREWS, LBSW

CAREGIVERS NEED SUPPORT WITH SHERRI ANDREWS, LBSW

Sherri describes how she was once the caretaker of her own child, so she understands firsthand what the millions of caretakers in this world experiences. What both Sherri and I both know is that caretakers must find ways to care for ourselves. As she mentions in the podcast, Sherri has been to more funerals for the caretaker than she has the patient. For myself, taking walks or even doing a little retail therapy after dropping my mom off at dialysis does wonders. I also like to take my daughters out on short road trips each week just to get them out of the sick environment and to help them still enjoy their childhood. Honoring Mom Through Imperfections with Deanna Causey

Honoring Mom Through Imperfections with Deanna Causey

As Christians, The Bible commands us to honor our father and mother as it pleases God and adds value to our own lives (Ephesians 6:1-3). For many of us, including myself, respecting the years of hard work that our parents have sacrificially given to us, makes this commandment a lot easier to endure. When I think of how my parents committed to giving my siblings and I a healthy, well-rounded life as children, I'm able to fervently care for my mom today with that same level of commitment. Just as my mom fed, bathed, and clothed me as a child, I now care for my mom today in that same capacity. Sometimes our lives are not 'as picture perfect' as we'd like. We don't get to choose what families we are born into. We often have childhood experiences that could completely eradicate us. For some, it did. But for others like Deanna, the reigns of life must be taken back by the tiny morsel of strength that we have left. We do get to choose how the context of our lives is written in the present. Deanna chose to accept her mom's inabilities as the compass of providing her own daughters with a healthier definition of motherhood. Perception is everything! Parenting Regret?

Parenting Regret?

I think we can all admit that parenting gets tough. It’s the toughest just that many of us will ever have BUT it’s also rewarding. There are no manuals or guides that come with these little bundles of joy on delivery day. However, I have chosen to use the Bible as my guiding force to help me raise my daughters. According to the Bible, children are a blessing and deserve to be admired as such. Using the word regret is a pretty big word. I do realize that children aren’t always planned nor do they always come at the most opportune time in our lives. However, according to the Bible, every person born had a predestined future even before they arrived. That means to me that God knew every one of these children were on the way. Let’s talk about here and then follow me on my FB page www.facebook.com/coachteia to discuss it more.
