This episode of the pod kicks off 2021 a little different, it's a sample of my other podcast I host called The X Factor Podcast.
Here's a quick description of the show:
A coach & a Navy officer walk into a bar... Just kidding, they used to be a coach and an officer, now they're entrepreneurs and they walk into a podcast studio not a bar. But they do pour a glass of bourbon, sit down, turn on their mics and talk about what it takes to win at the highest level. Whether that's in a stadium, a nuclear sub, the business world or anywhere else for that matter. What does it take? It takes the X-Factor. Everyone wants it, few possess it and even fewer recognize it when they see it. These two guys will show you what it is and what it takes. Tune in (or don't).

But My Business Is Different
We often brainwash ourselves into thinking “our business is different” or “our industry is different.” Or that political campaigning must be different than entrepreneurship. This misconception couldn't be further from the truth. The fundamentals are fundamental in every industry and when you can create a system, you bring calm to chaos and clarity to confusion.
Whether you’re a politician or entrepreneur, you’re in the same business. You’re first and foremost in the relationship business, then the business of whatever field you work in. A campaign, whether it’s a political campaign, a crowdfunding campaign or a business-development campaign is essentially a system with a clearly defined outcome, starting point and finish line.
In this episode we break it all down with guest expert Paul Weaver, who is a career educator (college professor) and is running a campaign for local office in his town.
NOTE: We do NOT discuss politics, merely the parallels between an election campaign and new business development. You'll IMMEDIATELY hear about numerous opportunities and strategies you previously hadn't considered.

Hate Me Now, Love Me Later: Interview w/ Coach Jason Brown of Last Chance U
An in depth interview with perhaps the most controversial and widely misunderstood coach in America, Jason Brown. Jason is the star of the Netflix documentary series Last Chance U. Seasons #3 and #4 feature Jason and his team at Independence Community College.
We dive into how he is such a lightning rod and polarizing public figure, as well as WHY he's misunderstood. The conversation also turns to authenticity in a world of fakes as well as the fact that there's very little "reality" in reality TV.
We also discuss Jason's terrific new book Hate Me Now, Love Me Later as well as his time at Indy and the experience of being followed around by television cameras 24-7.
There are a lot of people I meet who I recommend write a book, most don't. Jason is one of the few who not only took the advice but also did it in record time. You get to see a VERY different side of the man in his book, I recommend you get yourself a copy here:

I Have The Watch: Interview w/ Leadership Expert Jon Rennie
Interview with veteran, leadership expert, entrepreneur and author, Jon Rennie.
We discuss his new book I Have The Watch and the fabulous foreword written for the book which, in my humble but highly accurate opinion, is worth the purchase price in and of itself. :-)

How good is I Have The Watch? So good that, if you aren't 100% satisfied with it, I'll buy the book back from you. That's how good, now go get it...

The Things We Think & Do Not Say: Interview w/ Val Gui founder of ProofFactor.com
A discussion on depression in entrepreneurship. The interview is based on his groundbreaking article #HustleHarder - A Study of Mental Health in the Entrepreneurship Community. Val is saying what millions of entrepreneurs are feeling but believe it's taboo to talk about.
We also expose the fraudulent online goo-roos who promote "Hustle Porn”. Which is using the power of social media to convince others to take risks not right for them, by pushing a lifestyle that isn’t just unreasonable, but downright dangerous for many people.
Note: I use Proof Factor on my website. I'm not an affiliate, I receive no compensation for promoting it. I simply do so because it's a great resource and tool that you can benefit from as I am.

"A coach will impact more lives in one year than an average person will in a lifetime."
I don't believe that quote is limited to just coaches and this episode will explain precisely why.
*Episode #513 is dedicated to the Memory of Marylyn S. Mills.
