A month ago bitcoin's use case was highlighted by Canadian protestors.  Now, Russian and Ukrainian nationals and state bodies have placed bitcoin on the  center stage, illustrating its neutrality and utility as a sovereign money and network, and also forcing the hands legislators and regulators to propose and craft laws, which gives bitcoin validation, and acts as a trojan horse for adoption.

Political and regulatory risk is at an all-time high.  In the span of a mere month, we've seen authorities first in Canada, and then worldwide employ tools that have restricted individuals access to financial networks, and now they are pushing the regulatory and legal envelopes to include crypto assets.

The time to take action to protect yourself from these threats is NOW, before the window closes.  [And just a reminder- it's better to be a year too early than a day too late.]   

There is a saying, "If you don't hold it, you don't own it."  If your crypto is on an exchange or held by any custodian (like Fireblocks, Bitgo, Prime Trust, Coinbase Custody, Ledger Vault, or now even your bank in many jurisdictions, you do not control the private keys, and therefore, YOU DO NOT OWN IT.  Should authorities and custodians will take action, and those entities WILL freeze accounts.

In this episode, I recap what's happened, and where we're at today.

Very little has happened, and a lot has happened.  Prices go up, prices go down.  New people are getting into crypto, and 2021 was their year of seasoning.

If you're like me, keep on stacking, keep making regular buys, and use those tools available to you (rebate apps like Lolli and the Fold card, rebate cards like the BlockFi credit card, lending services like BlockFi, Abra, Ledn, and numerous others (do your research first!) and use those apps that bring the costs to buy down to near zero (like Strike.)  These are all tools to slowly and steadily build those bags.
