Shan is a high-school Senior who got accepted Early Decision at Duke to soon after receive a Letter of Assurance (a guaranteed admission conditional on passing medical) from the United States Air Force Academy. Although she is excited to be studying Mechanical Engineering at Duke in the fall, the fact that she applied early meant she had to give up a long-time dream of going to the service academies.
