Superintendent Student Ambassadors: College Readiness with I Know I Can
Superintendent Student Ambassadors, Bidya Kharel (Columbus Alternative High School) and Citlali Leon (Beechcroft High School) are joined by I Know I Can College Advising Managers Brenna Holmes (CAHS) and Ryan Gresham (Beechcroft) as they explore the topics of graduation, the college application process, financial aid (FAFSA) & other scholarships available for Columbus City School students.

Superintendent Student Ambassadors: Understanding Mental Health
Superintendent Student Ambassadors, Elecktra Sims (Marion-Franklin) and Katelin Izzo (Centennial) are joined by SEL Practitioner with the Office of Whole Child Focus, Chaka Diop and Dr. Sara Bode, CCS Medical Consultant and Medical Director of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Care Connection School-based Health and Mobile Clinic – to discuss how the district is addressing mental health and what resources are available for students.

From being told at birth that he would never be able to walk or talk, to watching her son become a high school graduate. Join Tyler Carter and Dr. Talisa Dixon as they are joined by Debra Johnson, mother of Zuri Johnson, as they discuss the incredible journey of her son's challenging life. Born only weighing 14 oz, and was 4 ½ months premature, Johnson is set to receive his high school diploma this upcoming spring at Fort Hayes Arts & Academics HS. This is an inspiring episode that you do not want to miss!

Easthaven's Girls Rock
Join Tyler Carter and Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon as they take their first ever podcast on the road and visit Easthaven Elementary School, the home of “Girl’s Rock.” An initiative run by Easthaven’s Tierra Jackson, which helps young women learn the importance of being a woman. Listen in on this special Women’s History Month show to learn how Ms. Jackson educates her young women students on how to be a leader, boost their self-confidence, and so much more!

Black Girls SOAR
Join Tyler Carter as she sits down and talks to Priscilla Tyson, Bryn Wing, Sesily Wanjema, and Nicole Harper about Black Girls Soar. With the theme "Crowned to Succeed," created as a direct response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Black Girls SOAR provides a “safe space” and digital convening for African-American girls, ages 11 – 22 years. This organization is designed to provide important life skills and tangible best practices in the areas of leadership, professional development, financial literacy, self-care, self-love, and more. Black Girls Soar is outlined to set our girls up for success.

Graduate Highlights - Aaliyah Reed
Dr. Dixon and Board Of Education President Jennifer Adair sit down with Aaliyah Reed, a 2020 Marion-Franklin High School graduate who is making history as the youngest African-American female to be accepted into the 114th Columbus Division of Fire (CDF) Recruitment Class. She discusses her time in Columbus City Schools as well as the adversity she overcame.

Student Voice - Mental Health and Mindfulness
Guest host Christian Ross sits down with Dr. Danita Thornton, supervisor of school psychologists at Columbus City Schools, and two CCS students. We discuss the importance of having healthy conversations about mental health, as well as what resources are available for our students.

Columbus Promise
Earlier this month, a new initiative aimed at Columbus City Schools seniors and soon-to-be graduates was unveiled. The new program, the Columbus Promise, will provide free tuition for CCS seniors to attend Columbus State and continue their education after high school.
Join Tyler Carter and Dr. Dixon as they sit down with Kofoworola Sholesi, the student speaker from the event.
Kofo delivered a powerful message, and plans to stay in Columbus to study radiology.
