Don't be Bored or Boring in Punta Arenas: Thoughts From the End of the World, Part 2 (#20)
Punta Arenas, Chile, is known as a jumping-off spot to explore the Antarctic Peninsula. The Comfy Nomad was told that it wasn't worth spending more than a day on either end of the trip there, but she soon learned that the city's quirky, grungy, and (very) windy nature had a unique appeal. Listen in on a conversation during her return trip with Alvaro, a Punta Arenas native, where they reflect on everyday life beyond the tourist spots, from flashbacks to 1980s office supplies to selling memoirs to strangers on the beach.

Thoughts From The End of The World: Southern Chile, Part 1 (Puerto Natales)
What is life like in one of the most remote parts of the planet? Listen in as the Comfy Nomad chats with Alexandra (and a surprise guest who wanders into the conversation) as they ponder aspects of life in the south Patagonia town of Puerto Natales, Chile.

Top Apps of 2022: Surprising Finds in Productivity, Travel, & Curiosity (#18)
It's been a while, so the Comfy Nomad and her last guest decided to continue the conversation by reviewing apps from 2022 that brought more organized and interesting twists to life -- from Focusmate and Notion to SwingVision and Wise -- in all categories of life, including art, sports, finance, travel, and media. The Accidental Entrepreneur: Growth on The Other Side of Resistance (#17)
The Comfy Nomad returns with three questions for Jeff Louie, a self-described accidental entrepreneur who founded one of the first coworking spaces in Sacramento, California. He reflects on building communities that turned into businesses (instead of the other way around), and how parenthood plus a move to the San Francisco Bay Area required reevaluating his identity and life expectations -- triggering a shift from a high-growth, "save the world" mindset to a different state of being fully in the present moment.

Part 3, The Magical Typing Drag Queen: Pagentry and Purpose (#16)
In the third and final episode of a series profiling Miss Timmi, who entered the world of drag in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1970s, we learn about the nonprofit Imperial Court system, the impact of AIDS in the 80s and 90s, and loop back to the first episode discussing drag and spirituality.

Part 2, The Magical Typing Drag Queen: Creating The Look (#15)
In the second part of a three-part series profiling Miss Timmi, a Northern California female illusionist, we learn more about what it takes to transform -- which the Comfy Nomad learns is no different than any other theater/media/stage makeup and wardrobe ritual -- and follow Miss Timmi as he continues to hone his craft in San Francisco in the 1980s.

What's the Point of College (at 20 or 60)? (#13)
The Comfy Nomad returns for more Conversations from the Back Deck! She chats with Dave, who just graduated from college in his early 60s. She unearthed an ancient blog post that reflects on her college experience and they ponder how much (or how little) things have changed, from the mismatch of how people teach and how people learn to why it feels like the most powerful learning experiences happen outside the classroom.

My First Photo Exhibit (#12)
After 15 years of capturing photos, the Comfy Nomad published an online exhibit! Robin from the Cortona Center of Photography returns to discuss all the details that go into creating an exhibit, from image selection and order to captions and the infamous artist statement. Best listened to while viewing the gallery at comfynomad.com.

Collaging the Soul (#11)
In 2017, the Comfy Nomad stumbled upon Soul Collage® workshops offered by Megan (mmsoul.com) in the Seattle region, and was hooked -- especially after realizing the 5"x7" format was perfect for creating mixed-media art while traveling. In this conversation, Megan shares her life story and the joys of maintaining a now-virtual creativity business during the pandemic, including favorite moments from facilitating workshops and sourcing images. They both discuss how collaging has helped in understanding one's identity, developing self awareness, and balancing perfectionism with "no rules."

The Network of Traveling Souls and Storytelling in the South (#10)
Travel has the ability to remind us that we're all interconnected, and one way to experience this is the classic case of getting lost. With stories of being helped and helping others, the Comfy Nomad reconnects with Robin from the Cortona Center of Photography to delve into synchronicity and travel, with a strong dose of storytelling from the Deep South.

Betwixt and Between: A Conversation with a Female Pilot (#8)
The Comfy Nomad interviewed Pilot Sarah on her professional life for another podcast, and noticed interesting synchronicities with their lives -- from being born near the end of one generation to working in male-dominated fields. Listen in as they unpack life growing up in unconventional worlds (military), attempting to start unconventional careers (also military), and allowing the journey to guide them to the the things they dreamed of doing all along.

Travels in a Parallel Universe: Russia & North Korea (#7)
For years, the Comfy Nomad struggled with how to share stories from a trip to North Korea. She then meets Tamara, a filmmaker-turned-writer, who noticed similarities to a trip she took during the fall of the Soviet Union. Listen in as they unravel the complexities of visiting places with radically different worldviews while discovering the commonalities of the human condition -- using orthodontic wax, snow angels, and pre-redacted postcards.

Travel & Spirituality (#4)
In Part 3 of the TravelCon 2018 podcast series, the Comfy Nomad chats with John (johnthetraveler.com) and Tianna about what makes a space sacred, how travel keeps one in the moment, how to bring that presence back to everyday life at home, and finding moments of connection throughout.

Stamps, Serendipity, & Not Finding Your Niche (#3)
In Part 2 of the Comfy Nomad's three-part TravelCon (2018!) podcast series with John the Traveler (johnthetraveler.com), listen in as they share similar interests in stamps and postmarks, count down the last counties to visit in Kansas and California, and ponder how to create a blog or podcast when one has so many interests.

Reflections of a Digital Nomad (#5)
In this episode, the Comfy Nomad catches up with Michigan native Joe Rule (joerule.com), who lived and worked as a Digital Nomad for over two years: Merida, Mexico; Porto, Portugal; Vancouver, Canada; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Chiang Mai, Thailand; and back to Porto before settling in Austin, Texas. Listen in as they reflect on how travel changed both their worldview and daily life -- and what's next for travel after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Introvert Travel Panel (#2)
What happens when you put three introverted strangers in a room to talk about travel? In Part 1 of Comfy Nomad's TravelCon 2018 podcast series, listen in as Ana, Brandon, Sylvie, and the Comfy Nomad cover a range of topics: defining introversion, pondering JOMO vs. FOMO, balancing adventure with time to recharge, making personal connections, finding your tribe, and finishing with advice for fellow introverted travelers.
