Tips for Writing Memoirs - Lessons Learned
1. Know your why
2. Use Pseudonymns where possible or write in the third person as if sharing someone else's story
3. Notify key persons affected about your intent and portions if possible to preserve relationships
4. Beware of the effects on the involved individuals
5. Ask yourself for certain episodes that might be too personal or painful, if the story can survive without these portions
6. Focus on the reader and the message you are trying to convey; don't just journal
7. You can republish it if you feel it needs to be revised.

Ep. 106: Unshackled Queens - Repurposing a Book for Greater Impact and More Book Sales
Books can be revised and republished to give them new life. This is what Ruth did with her book, "Unshackled Queen," which was first published as "Heartache Queen Unshackled" in 2014.
The new edition has been signficantly revised and renamed with a new mission and focus.
Its purpose to help women move from heartbreak to wholeness, to move past the pains of the past and walk in their greatness.
The name of the book will also be used to form a community of empowerment and the building of her new YouTube channel by the same name.
This community will be launched on her birthday on May 9, 2023, in the 10th year that the first manuscript was written.

Tamara Francis has been an educator, editor, proofreader, book formatter and voice over artist for over 15 years. As a trained teacher, she has taught English language, English Literature, Spanish, English as a Second Language and Adult Literacy.
Tamara is the editor of the children’s publications at Caribbean Christian Publications where she has edited and proofread hundreds of manuscripts including Sunday School and Vacation Bible School material. Tamara has worked mainly with new authors edit and format books published on Amazon– from novels to Christian based literature to poetry books in English and Jamaican patois.
As a voice over artist, Tamara voiced several advertisements, hosted programmes and conducted live broadcasts while she worked at TBC Radio in Kingston Jamaica for almost ten years. She also narrated a mini documentary for OM ships.
