Ep. 124: Vision 2030 Authorpreneur Campaign... UN Agenda for Sustainable Development
Why is 2030 significant?
How do books or authorpreneurship facilitate sustainable development?
The Caribbean Authorpreneur Summit in January 2024 will shed light on this and today’s podcast is a teaser.
The year 2030 is a significant year internationally. With regards to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the centerpiece is the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015.
To catalyze cooperative, transformative action at the international scale, the 2030 Agenda includes a set of 17 universally applicable, integrated objectives for sustainable development. These objectives are officially referred to as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).[1]
Chief among these 17 goals is ending poverty in all its forms everywhere along with ensuring healthy lives and promoting wellbeing for all at all ages, and promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.[2]
The model of Authorpreneurship proposed on this show helps in the achievement of at least three of the 17 goals.
Caribbean Authorpreneur Summit – January 19-20, 2024. The registration page will be coming soon.

Ep. 123: Celebrating Jamaican Heritage and Building Connection with Dawn Forrester Price
How can you help children of Caribbean parentage in the Diaspora to become familiar with their Caribbean heritage?
How about writing Caribbean stories and sharing it with them?
This is exactly what Dawn Forrester Price did in her historical fiction adventure series, “Run to Freedom.”
"Run to Freedom" is a trilogy set on an 18th century Jamaican plantation about an enslaved family’s quest for freedom. Dawn began writing "Run to Freedom" for her children, who have been raised in the USA. She was concerned that they were going to grow up in a society where they had to think of their ethnic make-up as being a defining and sometimes limiting factor in their lives.
In Jamaica, she grew up without needing to identify herself by race but being very proud of her nationality. She wanted to show her children pictures of her own national heroes, people who, though enslaved, were not servile...
Learn more about Dawn Forrester Price and this exciting family saga in this episode of the Authorpreneur Secret$ podcast.
