Perspective of God's Presence - Psalm 73

The Psalms can be described as "honest songs of praise."  How do we sing when our hearts are broken? When all seems lost?  When it appears the Lord has left us bereft?  Learning how to respond and navigate this kind of soul-crushing season is a key to living in true covenantal loyalty to the Lord in this broken world.

This message looks at Psalm 23 and how the psalmist discovers that trusting the Lord to lead his life is the best choice we can make.

Remembering the goodness of God opens a flow for more of his goodness. Declaring his greatness makes room for his kingdom to manifest around us.  This message uses Psalm 145 to lead us in a corporate time of remembering his goodness and declaring his greatness.

What happens when our faith runs into disappointment?  How do we operate in the crucible of that season?  How do we break through?  Such times are inevitable to the walk of faith.  Psalm 73 is a testimony of one believer's experience journey into and through such a season.

As we read David's Psalm 139 we see that David was someone that knew that God knew everything about him. He also acknowledges that there was no place that he was able to hide from God. This message looks at why and how we can often try to hide from God. This message talks through the desire God has for us to  live life in deeper connection with him.

What does it look like to be salt and light in the current toxic and divided political environment in our country?  How can we best represent Jesus' Kingdom here in our land and be the illuminating, preserving influence for righteousness that we are called to be?  It is not easy, but the Lord gives us one basic prescription to see justice released in the land.

Jesus calls his followers to take up our cross daily.  What does that mean?  What does it mean to die to self?  How is that worked out in the life of the believer?  And how does that relate to his call for us to be salt and light?
