The DataCast With The Neurodivergent Data Witches

You can be who or whatever you want to be in the Metaverse, but you have to be intentional. You must be intimate where you intend intimacy and maintain health detachment from some people. The question is: how to you want people to consume your time and energy in the Metaverse? What will you pay to consume others' time and energy?

What is this Blockchain shit all about? It sounds really scammy. It sounds too risky. New winners and losers are being decided. The guaranteed losers are those who have decided to opt out of the conversation all together.

Let's talk user experience.  Creators of apps and other digital tools create with particular users in mind. Users don't just show up. They are researched and studied. They are marketed to and courted. As you engage with apps, it is important to understand for who the app was created. Was it created with you in mind? Does the app give to you in return for the value you bring to the app?

This season, we are going deep into the Metaverse. The Metaverse is the time and space where neurodivergent makers and creators will grow the next version of ourselves. By understanding how major players are operating in this time and space, we position ourselves for personal and creative development.

When you hire a business or personal development coach, make sure you understand where they are coming from. As a Neurodivergent Person, you may be familiar with people pointing out what they see as your deficits. Your coach needs to first understand how far you have come and not start with deficits. If that is their starting place, they want to be your savior. You don't need a savior. You need a guide who can help you transmute your potent ingredients into an explosive mixture that can change the world.

If you find yourself in a situation where you are asked to give your intellectual labor without receiving the right resources, you are paying a high price to stay in this situation. When you have the right resources or at least the support to get the resources you need, you can operate at a level that pleases you.  If you've never been properly supported, it's time to explore how that would like.

Activity does not always equal meaningful action. You may have the right pieces to put your vision together but still need the right people or need to act at another time.  When things are right, they are right. You won't have to drag people behind you. Relationships will develop with grace and ease. The action you need to take will become clear.

People devote intellectual labor to their craft. Various systems have found ways to extract the intellectual labor of marginalized creators, especially Black creators, free or at unethically cheap rates. Many individual creators are essentially locked out of reward systems because their products and services are unsafe from poaching. We talk about new tools to help vulnerable creators maneuver predatory environments.

Use your own data to understand what is going on with you. In this episode,  we use the feeling wheel to have a real conversation about where we are. In the social media verse, it appears we share everything, but we are really good curators of our truths. Para social relationships may leave us feeling less than. As makers and creators, it is important for us to remember, a curated life is made and created. It's someone else's art.

The same dataset can tell a number of different stories. The way we read time changes varies based on our states of mind. When we feel anxious, time seems to drag on. So, we rush our communications. We try to fill up every second with words. There's no space to process; no room to do the valuable work of daydreaming. Makers and creators must respect time.

The pandemic has exposed how many long-running business are actually held together with spit and glue. One ways companies stay afloat is by undervaluing female labor. As with the Harvard Computers (literally human computers) companies are clear on what they would lose if we removed our labor, but are silent on what we add when we are present.  How do you save people time? Are they clear about what you save them?

When you throw yourself into finding a single life purpose, you are turning time into a scapegoat. Since we cannot find that needle in a needlestack, we blame time, or our perceived lack of time. You will become so wrapped up in arriving at this single destination, you excuse yourself from living. Makers and creators are always making; always creating... purpose.

Time is a social construct. In other words, it's some made-up shit. We try to speed it up, slow it down and make it stand still, but we end up allowing it to manage us. To appreciate yourself, you have to value your own time.

Hear our origin story. We are joined by a respect for the power of data to tell us who we are and who we think we are. Data describe and define our most important relationships.  Data are currency, right?
