VOYAGERS' CLIMATE-TECH JOURNEYS: Tyler Christie at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
The humanitarian medical organisation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is vast and decentralised – with operations in 70+ countries, 50,000 employees, and a $2B annual budget, mostly from millions of individual donors. Tyler Christie is helping MSF understand and cut its carbon output – not only because a crisis-response organisation needs to respond to a planetary crisis, but because it also makes good business sense. Tyler tells David Rowan on VOYAGERS' Climate-Tech Journeys, the VOYAGERS community podcast, how other businesses can learn from the bottom-up, decentralised and investment-led approaches that are transforming MSF. Tyler is in the VOYAGERS Climate-Tech group. More at VOYAGERS.io

VOYAGERS' CLIMATE-TECH JOURNEYS: Louie Psihoyos and Chris Lejeune of Projecting Change
Academy Award winning documentarist Louie Psihoyos (director of The Cove, Racing Extinction, The Game Changers) and projection-mapping artist Chris Lejeune tell David Rowan about their audacious Projecting Change event. It will take place on the east façade of the United Nations Secretariat Building in New York on October 22, 23 & 24 2021, one week before the COP in Glasgow. The event will be live streamed and broadcast globally. It will feature climate luminaries, youth and indigenous activists, musicians and artists from around the world who will be sounding the alarm on the climate crisis. Louie and Chris spoke at a VOYAGERS climate-tech community meeting.

VOYAGERS' Journeys: Jan Kirchhoff of HB11 Energy
Jan Kirchhoff's startup HB11 Energy is working to build nuclear fusion (which science says is a pretty near impossible thing to do, and don't even get science started on whether a startup can do it). Jan tells VOYAGERS' Journeys, the VOYAGERS community podcast, about his team's fresh approach, how much it's likely to cost, why renewables aren't the answer, how to build fusion using Zoom...and why fusion matters. You don't need to be a nuclear scientist to listen. Jan is in the VOYAGERS Climate-Tech group. More at VOYAGERS.io

VOYAGERS' Journeys: Ferry Heilemann of Leaders for Climate Action
Ferry Heilemann made his first fortune selling Daily Deal to Google, built freight-forwarding giant Forto – and then realised entrepreneurs like him needed to step up to fight climate change. So he launched Leaders for Climate Action to get fellow founders accounting for their carbon output, and Pirate Impact to invest in startups tackling the problem. He tells VOYAGERS' Journeys, the VOYAGERS.io community podcast, why impact makes good business sense.

VOYAGERS' Journeys: Jevan Nagarajah of Better Dairy
At his London food-tech startup Better Dairy, Jevan Nagarajah uses synthetic biology and yeast fermentation to produce milk, cheese and ice-cream that are molecularly identical to traditional dairy – without involving animals. Jevan tells VOYAGERS' Journeys, the VOYAGERS community podcast, why biotech will save the food industry. More at VOYAGERS.io
