God's beauty is different than man's idea of beauty.

Freedom is the theme of this weekend in America, and rightly so.  So what does God declaring the Ten Commandments to Israel at smoking Mt. Sinai have to do with freedom?  The slaves have been set free to serve!

Isreal meets God at Mt Sinai.  Boundaries are established, holiness displayed is fearsome ways, even animals pay the price when stepping over the line.  How is this part of the gospel?  It's foundational, and fantastic!

Want to get to know God?  The ten plagues on Egypt and the Red Sea crossing, the daily manna and quail, with miracle supply of water, all show God's fierce love for us.  Is there anything else we should know?

Ever get great advise, from an unexpected source?  Moses did!  The advice goes right to the heart of what believers/parents need to hear in America today.  This is crucial for us to take to heart.

God allowed fear, thirst, and hunger to test His children.  To show them they could trust Him with their every need.  What happens when God allows the enemy to attack?

You might think overwhelming evidence of God would "make people believe".  But saving faith does not work that way.  How does it work?  Exodus gives us eye-opening clues!

Do you worry a lot, about tomorrow, next week, next year, retirement, etc.?  Go deep with Isreal and absorb the vital lesson God begins teaching them in Exodus 16.  We need this faith training, too!

We all go through multiple learning curves through life, some mild and some extreme.  Israel's faith learning curve is about to become pretty steep.  I'm thankful, because we can learn right along with them, without having to physically go through the wilderness.

Ever been confused, conflicted, by your own heart?  Pharoah had a terrible time with his heart.  The Lord wants to minister to our hearts today, surgery if needed, and the healing mercies of His mercy and grace.

Faith is a slippery thing, doubting is a real thing, even the disciples wrestled with them.  How about you?  From the Red Sea to the locked room post-Easter, let Christ help you believe!

Where can we turn in our darkest, scariest moments?  Has God given us any encouragement?  His extraordinary encouragement to Israel in leaving Egypt, is wonderful truth for us today.  Take heart!

Are you feeling like an Egyptian today:  not part of God's family, surrounded by fake gods demanding attention, not sure if you are welcome at the Lord's table?  Let the 10 plagues answer that feeling!

This is a day for marveling.  When's the last time you marveled at something, someone?  Let the glorious deeds of our majestic God lift your spirit and life today, in celebration of Easter!  

Can Moses and Exodus speak to our Palm Sunday?  Yes, they can, and they will bring us to the foot of the cross in amazing fashion.  Bring on the ten plagues!

The seal of God was placed on His bond servants.  The Lamb will be our shepherd and.....we WILL be rewarded.

When we cry out to God for help with a problem, His answer will be immediate and wonderful.  Right?!  That's not what happened for Israel in Egypt.  Let's keep learning the ways of God, with Israel.

God shares with His servants, as His bond servants, we need patient endurance.  We need to repent of our "distractions".  We are to hold fast to God and what we know is truth.

I want you to know, that in this sermon you will meet a Sovereign Lord who holds heaven and hell, life and death, and individual human beings in the palm of His hand.  Moses met this God at the burning bush.  You must meet Him, too.

Who is Jesus' family?  Define "family".  How supportive was Jesus' family?  Can family life "change"? How did Jesus' family dynamics change?  To Bond slaves?

Bored?  Stuck in a rut?  Drifting further from what you thought was your life purpose?  Time for a burning bush!  That bush points to Jesus, and heaven, and eternal destiny for all.

Simeon had a promise from God that he would see the Christ child before he died.  Simeon committed himself as a bond slave until he saw the Christ Child.  Both kept their promises.

Can God have purpose in allowing painful times for many people?  Or individuals?  Watch our compassionate God at work in Exodus, Chapter 2.

Jesus is the ultimate example of a bond servant.  Paul committed himself, as well as people around Jesus committed themselves, to the servanthood of Jesus Christ.

Foundations are critical.  Where can we go for trustworthy spiritual foundations?  Genesis is loaded with foundations, and Exodus builds on them.  Freedom and fear are up first!

Humility.  What does it mean to be humble?  What does being humble look like?  How does this look like as children of God?  Journey with us through Lent as we follow Jesus' example of humility.

We all love a good love story, sometimes even a tragic love story.  Valentine is a good example.  How about you?  How far is your love story willing to go?

Never felt the nudge to give, much?  Never really experienced it as joy, as some people seem to do?  Maybe we need some inspiration for giving.  Here's inspiration for giving that can change lives forever!

Does God let us go through trials for a purpose?  What kind of purpose could He have in mind?  So many, we could never count.  But, here's Pastor Joes' testimony of what God did through his Covid experience.

The ongoing tumult in Washington has kept many of us riveted on the breaking news from our government.  Have you ever considered Jesus' a[[roach to Kings and politics?  Prepare to be refreshed!

How much do you have?  How much do you want?  More yet, where are you storing your treasures?  Let's listen and learn what the best treasure, that will last the lonest, is worth gathering.

We probably know that God tells us, a lot, not to be afraid or anxious.  Did you ever wonder why we don't have to be anxious?  You might be surprised.  Oh, ok, you WILL be surprised!

Are you like Scrooge?  Full of ignorance and wants?  Want to walk down a path of Life?  Life with God's Word.  Jesus.  Through Jesus our ignorance is driven out and out wants are fulfilled.  Merry Christmas!

Seems like we are living in the times of the whirlwind:  politics, Covid, natural disasters all around, with new developments daily and weekly keeping us reeling.  Is Yahweh/I AM present in these circumstances, too?  What are we to do?

Has this thought crept into your heart, unawares, "I am a pretty good person.  God will let me into heaven."?  That dragon must be slain!  The word of God has the sword for the job!

Ever felt lost, confused, scared?  Maybe feel that way now?  2020 has done that for a lot of folks.  Yahweh, I Am, has an answer for that!

Paul's life and mission come to an end, as we finish the book of Acts.  Paul's last words to Timothy, will grab your heart and deepen your faith.  To the one who has ears to hear, let them hear.  

It's so natural for us to expect our life journey with the Lord to be "according to plan" and "on schedule".  So, why is our path almost always off the map and agonizingly slow?  Paul's shipwreck will give us one great answer!

"The two hardest things to say in life are "hello" for the first time, and "goodbye" for the last."  Moira Rodgers.  In Acts 20, Paul's "goodbye" to the elders of Ephesus still speaks with power to us today.

Through the thick and thin of life's trials, what should our focus be?  What do our actions say?  Let's find out with Paul what our purpose and our value is.  Let's finish the race before us and finish strong.

Misery loves company, and today we see 24,000 miserable people trying to convince themselves that life without the true God is OK. What does God offer miserable people?

We could really use some "good courage" right now, right? Two attention-grabbing phrases will catch your attention and your heart today. Good courage is coming your way! 

Paul's missionary travels are epic, but riddled with defeats and set-backs.  A tender moment between Paul and the Lord speaks powerfully to us today.

Ever feel like you are surrounded by people who don't know anything about God or the Bible? You might even be the only one in the room who has a clue. Paul lived it, and stood up to preach it. Be thankful you have heard the Gospel! 

Acts 17:16:34

God's word says "Do not be afraid" over 300 times.  What do you suppose ungodly forces spend an awful lot of their time trying to get you and I to do?  Paul ran up against exactly these kinds of schemes 2,000 years ago.  The word shows the way!

Even a mad crowd and a beating can't sidetrack Paul from proclaiming and sharing the Lord.  Once again, the word of God speaks directly into our modern experience with truth!

Graduates who are entering the workplace may think they are done with tests forever, but the Lord has a word of advice today, that we can all take to heart.  His tests have great purpose!
