DTF Episode 31: Bible Study Guide
In the 31st episode of Destroy the Files, Kate and Brent are back and ready to dominate the world of podcasting in 2023! In this installment, the friends discuss the Bible, touching on some key verses, as well as how the Good Book influences friendship in the modern era. There's some stuff about The Last of Us and something about barbecue sauce? Honestly, I might have dreamt the barbecue sauce part, as I dozed off a couple times. Not because it was boring, I was actually quite entertained. I'm just so tired. Kate and Brent don't let me sleep much. They actually get quite angry if I get more than 2 or 3 hours of sleep. After I post this episode I have to get back to my digging project, so this episode description will have to end here.

DTF Episode 30: Halloween 2022
In the 30th episode of Destroy the Files, Kate and Brent prove that two friends CAN stretch a completely pointless podcast into 30 episodes! It’s also their bi-annual Halloween Special, where they delve into spooky tips for writing a horror novel for National Novel Writing Month in November. Brent mentions some new book purchases, despite never finishing any of the books he already has, including Soft Places by Betty Rocksteady. At some point there seems to be a raccoon loose in Brent’s home, but the case is never solved. Lots and lots of Halloween-related stuff. The Wisconsin versus California debate rages on, and they probably talk about some other things, too. So put on your finest Halloween poncho, and get ready for the time of your life!

DTF Episode 29: Ireland
In this episode of Destroy the Files,
Kate and Brent talk about his recent adventures in Ireland, including the Blarney Stone, the Jameson Distillery, and a bus driver with a mysterious past. Brent puts out a request for prank suggestions from around the world, and Kate updates us on the sexy intrigue of Cougar Canyon via the NextDoor app. Plus Royal Family news from England, a video game Brent can’t get enough of called SCORN, and a different video game from the >>DARK WEB<< called Sad Satan. Give it a listen if you love high quality podcastitude!
To file a grievance, email spicyhambone {a} gmail dirt com. If your tale of woe is compelling enough, I’ll forward it to Brent and Kate. Speaking as a neutral party, they probably should have destroyed this podcast and not asked me to post it on the internet. I am so sorry.

DTF Episode 28: Bears & StokerCon
In this episode of Destroy the Files,
The friends talk about music including Cardi B, Heilung, The Dead South, and a song by the Decemberists called “The Mariner’s Revenge.” There’s something about bears, maybe, for a little while. Fuck, I don’t know. They talk about Denver and StokerCon for a little bit. Apparently they’re going to make a short film or something? I don’t know, I kind of drifted off at that part. Brent reveals what a garbage person Rene Descartes was and then they get into a very important cultural discussion about stumps. Kate’s got some fun facts that you’ll need to know for the quiz on Friday.

DTF Episode 27: Steamy Post-Pandemic Action
In this episode of Destroy the Files, Brent discusses his new erotic literature series, Cougar Canyon – inspired by the name of Kate’s actual neighborhood. He also strongly recommends people check out the dark, bluesy music of The Curse of K.K. Hammond (LINK). Kate has some tips for rejoining society as more and more covid restrictions are lifted. The pair demonstrate their encyclopedic movie knowledge by NOT knowing that Red Dawn was set in Colorado. They talk about how they’re going to be at Stoker Con in May. Brent decides if the listeners buy him a tattoo, he’ll get whatever they agree on. A foolhardy idea, certainly. Thankfully, any listeners are unlikely to a) agree on a design, or b) send him money. Some listeners sent in some letters for the Mail Sack, to which Brent and Kate respond to. Probably some other stuff as well, I don’t know. I just want to see the sky again, if only for a few minutes.

DTF Episode 26: Cougar Canyon Can-Am Carnage
In this episode, recorded on January 6, 2022, Kate and Brent discuss what’s new in Cougar Canyon. They get into a little history of Can Am all terrain vehicles, some forbidden pleasures from around the world, and some positive things to consider when considering positive things is something you need to do. There’s some talk of different floor cleaning methods, some stuff about hummingbirds (did you know they live up to 5 years?!), and new books coming up from Omnium Gatherum. Probably some other stuff, too.
To file a grievance, email brentkelleybooks {a} gmail dirt com. If your tale of woe is compelling enough, I’ll forward to Brent and Kate. Speaking as a neutral party, they probably should have destroyed this one.

DTF Episode 25: Hunchbacks Vs. Rich People
In this week’s episode, Kate and Brent talk about the truth behind chlorophyll, an update on Kate’s neighborhood (thanks to a certain app that connects neighbors), and their process for creating podcasts. They go on to discuss slugs, hunchbacks, and a “Who’s the Worst” tournament involving wealthy historical figures. There are probably a bunch of other topics, but what is the point of all this? Hell, what’s the point of anything? I haven’t seen the sky in six days, and I’m not even getting paid!

DTF Episode 24: CONVENGE!
CONVENGE! In this year’s maybe-Halloween Episode, we talk about some great cons, some revenge, another list for Nate, Kate’s $600 windfall, candy corn, and and probably some other stuff! I don’t know, I haven’t really listened to it yet. But I DID glance over the show notes. To file a grievance, email brentkelleybooks {a} gmail dirt com. If your tale of woe is compelling enough, I’ll forward to Brent and Kate.

DTF Episode 23: Worms & Bears
In this episode, we discuss Horror Conclave, a convention where authors of scary stories and creators of scary films will gather to build connections and take their craft to the next level. Kate's been thinking about flatworms lately, and Brent rambles a while about bears. The episode concludes with a short conversation about... let's call it fashion and never speak of it again.
Kate and Brent want to thank our One Listener (you!) for listening. We look forward to bringing you more pointless banter, trivial information, fake sponsors, sports recaps, and Awesome Guests in the very near future!

DTF Episode 22: Halloween 2020
In this episode, we discuss Halloween and Christmas (with some juicy gossip about Santa’s time belt). Brent recaps the Packers’ historic win over the Texans. Kate lays out her entire counterfeiting operation in a stunning tell-all that I might cut from the episode. Brent gives a shout out to superstar digital artist Matt Wajek (LINK). But before any of that, there was a discussion about lampreys and how best to enjoy them on a breakfast plate. Some stuff about polar bears, I guess. And everyone’s favorite holiday pal, Krampus. Kate wishes death on an listener’s elderly grandmother.
There’s a little talk about the future of the podcast. Mainly, Kate and Brent are taking a break to get some book writing did. They will be back in 2021, baby bird, don’t even trip.
Kate and Brent want to thank our One Listener (you!) for checking in with us when you did. We have a lot of fun chatting, and it seems like you’re having a good time listening to us. We look forward to bringing you more pointless banter, trivial information, fake sponsors, sports recaps, and Awesome Guests in the very near future!
Real Talk from Brent: My niece Jayna was tragically taken from us in 2018. It took some time, but her Memorial Foundation is up and running. If you had a few bucks you could spare, I promise they’ll be used to make the world a better place in Jayna’s name. She was a devoted Girl Scout, and making the world a better place was all she ever wanted to do. The Jayna Kelley Memorial Foundation is continuing that work, thanks to help from awesome people like you. DTF Episode 21: Wherein Things Take a Darker Turn
Note: Some horrible things are discussed in this episode when we discuss some true crime. The horrible crimes against real people are not celebrated, but we wanted to be very up-front with our listener that this episode may include some triggering content.
Some pals sent us some correspondence for the Mail Sack, so we talk about Mother Teresa, Christmas plans, and Halloween activities. We also discuss a video on the internet of a kid on a scooter getting pecked by a bird. We talk about Marc Dutroux, Marie Delphine Macarty, and Caligula. We also set sail on a quick jaunt down memory lane to examine some unusual deaths from history. All this and more!

DTF Episode 20: Robert Payne Cabeen
Welcome to our 20th episode! In this one, Kate and Brent are joined by their super awesome pal Robert Payne Cabeen. Bob has tons of great stories, and we pried a couple out of him - including one about LSD and a shrunken head. Brent gives a recap of the Green Bay Packers win over the Minnesota Vikings. Kate gets into some mind-bending conspiracies… Are John Palisano and Jeff Strand really lizard people? Were the Illuminati responsible for Saved by the Bell? Plus hypothetical celebrity causes of death, and what kind of robot body would Bob get?

DTF Episode 19: Ghost Hunting & Poemetry
In this episode, Kate and Brent talk about ghost hunting, the royal family, and some science/technology items Brent discovered on the internet while he was searching for something else. What was that something else he was searching for, you ask? Well, I don't see how that's any of your business. Brent also reads some poetry submitted by cherished listeners. Listeners like Nate, Joshua Rainbird, and Lee Murray. Thanks for sending poems to us, chums! Looking forward to more!

DTF Episode 17: Unintended Consequences
In this highly informative and timeless episode, Kate and Brent discuss such mind blowing topics as peanut butter burgers, mandatory ninja masks, Brent’s deep fear of tanning goggles, how the fear of rats led to gangsters in Louisiana, and how the fear of rats led to the Bubonic Plague in Europe. Brent tells you some martial arts techniques he’s developing, as well as what a “Brent-aissance Festival” would look like. Perhaps most importantly, our heroes Kate and Brent tell the tale of how they met, due to… UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES??!!

DTF Episode 16: Fun With Lightning
In this scien-TASTIC episode, Kate and Brent talk about getting struck by lightning and the effects such a thing could have on the body. Kate gives Brent a test to see if he’s a psychopath. They talk about Edward Mordake, who inspired a song by Tom Waits. Kate shares a BRAND NEW hot dog recipe and tells a story about her old neighbor Jessica, whose brother was a scamming sociopath… Jessica and her brother engaged in a battle of wits that only ONE could win… and to the victor would go Jessica’s social security check! Brent gets to the shocking truth of whether or not you can remember being in the womb (spoiler: you can’t), and he also tells us about some recent efforts to mess with his close friends and family in odd and pointless ways. Plus lots more!
Later, Kate yells at Brent for talking about ovipositors, even though he was referring to actual biological stuff, not weird sex toys.

DTF Episode 15: Gina Ranalli
In this episode, Kate and Brent are joined by kickass author Gina Ranalli. Oh, such adventures to be had! Brent bores listeners with his latest camping report. Gina talks about giving herself tattoos, watching Burnt Offerings at an age that was, arguably, too young to be watching that movie. Additionally, she talks about seeing a guy get stabbed in Boston, getting in trouble in school, and being an insomniac. Kate informs us about legendary scammer Cassie Chadwick...
And later Gina and Kate try to make Brent eat a moth.
Thanks to Gina for joining us! Folks should stop by GinaRanalli.com and check out her work if they haven’t!
We wanna hear from YOU! Make sure you stop by DestroyTheFiles.com and leave us a message to read in the MailSack!

DTF Episode 14: Rena Mason
BLACK LIVES MATTER. END RACISM.

DTF Episode 13: Camping and a Ditch
On this week’s voyage into the imagination, Brent gives a camping update, Kate shares a tale of climbing into a stranger’s van with her friends to go to a ditch, and everyone walks away as a better person. Plus, music recommendations and an article about an adopted child who may really be a psychotic adult (thanks, Kris!).
This episode is not appropriate for work, children, children at work, and more. If you dig it, we’d love to hear from you. You can send us a strange question or comment on our website: https://www.destroythefiles.com/. We’d love it if you subscribed to and rated our podcast on your favorite podcast service. And send us money.

DTF Episode 12: Groinberries
In this delightful episode of Destroy the Files, Kate and Brent talk about a famous Russian troublemaker named Baron Roman von Ungern-Sternberg, some new catch phrases for Brent, alternate uses for morgue-trucks, and they even answer some letters in the MailSack.
This episode probably isn’t safe for work or for kids, and definitely not for kids who are at work.
(Read more about Baron Roman von Ungern-Sternberg here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_von_Ungern-Sternberg)

DTF Episode 11: Hornet Friends
In this episode, Kate and Brent discuss Murder Hornets (because you haven't heard enough about THEM #eyeroll), space aliens, people who should be forced to dig holes, and a bunch of other stuff. DTF Episode 9: Clamato Bloody Mary
In this episode, Kate enjoys a delicious Clamato Bloody Mary as she and Brent discuss old timey recipes, Jonathan Swift, Florida Easter eggs, lunar architecture, Animal Crossing, and lots more. Oh, it's a goddamn emotional rollercoaster. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll learn... maybe even arrive at the conclusion that this episode should probably have been deleted shortly after recording.
This program is not appropriate for kids, and it's also not appropriate for work. Unless you're working from home, then you can listen. But not if you have kids at home with you. Unless they're doing something else or they enjoy listening to inappropriate things that maybe aren't even that funny. Somebody is playing Animal Crossing near me. I have begun to wonder if it's possible to build ICBMs in the game and perhaps launch them at other islands.

DTF Episode 8: Johnny Worthen
In this episode, our dear friend Johnny Worthen joins us for a discussion of stupid things that smart people used to believe, the ATLAS Comet, nuclear testing, how Kate's life is a Tom Waits song, and just a whole bunch of other stuff. Sometimes the conversation gets downright philosophical. Other times we take turns being enraged over Rambo's explosive-tipped arrows. Heck, we even talk about Tiger King a little bit.
This episode is not appropriate for children or for your work. Unless you work at a super cool place like me.

DTF Episode 7: Justice for Pepito
In this episode, we are just absolutely all over the place. Kate wants a pet pig. Brent recaps the latest episode of The Waters of Castle Creek. Kate and her daughter had a goat friend when they lived in Puerto Rico. The conversation ranges far and wide, and in the end they should probably just have deleted the episode instead of uploading it to the internet.
There is swearing and drinking.

DTF Episode 6: Good Neighbors
Kate and Brent sit down for a little chat about bees, neighbors, the Martian Hum, and Brent's favorite soap opera, The Waters of Castle Creek. They talk about other stuff, too. It's another episode they should maybe just delete instead of putting online, but nothing matters and we're all just meat-covered skeletons marching toward the yawning grave.
This episode might not be suitable for work, children, children at work, and so on.

DTF Episode 5: Wonders of Nature
In this episode (which we might as well just delete), Kate and Brent talk about some wonders of the natural world, laws in California and Wisconsin, Kate's crime-filled past, music, a time vortex in Kate's house, and a bunch of other stuff. Gunther swears this time he has uploaded the correct file. We shall see, Gunther. We shall see.
This episode might not be suitable for work, children, children at work, and so on.

DTF Episode 4: A Hook for Alexander
The REAL episode 4! In this episode Kate & Brent discuss butts, Alexander the Great, turtles, whale explosions, and lots more.
This episode is not safe for work, nor is it appropriate for children.

Even so, if Kate and Brent have any common sense, they'll delete the files rather than upload them to the internet.
This podcast is not safe for work, nor is it appropriate for children. In fact, the files should probably just be deleted.

DTF Episode 1: Permafrost
In the pilot episode of Destroy the Files, Kate and Brent discuss permafrost, Oumuamua, Ratzilla, Son of Ratzilla, and listener letters. They also play a game called "Sweet Baby Jesus, What IS That Thing?" and talk about all kinds of other stuff.
