God hears us, when we are mentally-taxes, emotionally-drained, and physically exhausted!
For my sighing comes before I eat, And my groanings pour out like water.(Job 3:24)
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (Rom 8:26)

I hope you laugh more than cringe as I share stories of my life as a mom of six, ranging from 28 to 8 years old. Raising kids involves a lot of energy. The work is more than potty training and being their chauffeur. Under the surface of parenting is a task many of us weren’t prepared for: navigating the realm of the soul. Our souls. Parenting requires a continuous examination of this mysterious part of our creation. We operate from it–motives, mindsets, attitudes, and triggers. God, our Potter, wants to cultivate the soil of our soils and remove anything that would hinder the fruit of the Spirit from coming forth.
He is whispering, “I know it’s hard, but I am with you! I see you are trying, and I am your guide! You made a mistake, and I forgive you! I love you, and I’m cheering you forward!” The beauty of parenting can be a process of brutally naked surrender to God, who affirms our efforts and gives us courage on a journey for which none of us are prepared.

We met in college. I was an English and Music double major and Doug got his degree in Sociology. Our oldest child was born in 1991 and our youngest was born in 2011, so yes, if you do the math, we have kids 20 years apart! Doug and I were ordained and licensed for ministry in 2004. 14 Minute Momlife Pause - Holidays are Coming! Check your Emotional Gauge.
Holidays carry a level of stress and this year there are different types of decisions that have to be made--to travel or not to travel, to invite relatives or to quarantine. Tina encourages moms to tune in to their inner world, in other words, check their emotional gauges. Like a car, if we run on empty, something is going to come to a complete stop! When we do not pause to discern any unforgiveness, fear, anxiety, etc, this "stuff" will end up spilling out on everyone else. We must go to the Lord and He will help us reset.
