Winlar and his ukulele

Winlar and his ukulele

Winlar was born, raised and lived his whole life around the Seattle area, except for 4 years, since the Army wouldn't let him serve from home.
He started in sketch comedy out of college, founding the award winning group Kazoo! and writing for local television back when there was still such a thing.
He's gravitated toward his own version of stand-up, performing "Dirty songs for drunk people" with his Kamaka tenor ukulele. He's featured and headlined at various places around the state, and will pretty much show up any time anyone asks him nicely.
Oh, and he's married with two teenage kids at home. So pray for him.

Patricio F. Mendoza

Patricio F. Mendoza

Bio (I figured you would want a more comedy centric one, this gave me an opportunity to update the bio on my website.)

- " Actor, Comedian and Novelty Mug Collector; Patricio Fabian Mendoza, has been studying performing arts since 2007, learning to operate from a place of honesty. Writing humor around what he knows. This self-deprecating style of humor takes what life throws at him, finds the funny and pitches it back as laughter. From Vancouver to Seattle, this starting stand-up has hit a litany of shows, from showcases, to participating in competitions such as "Funniest MF," "Comedy and a Cause," "Cash for Comedy," as well as being a Finalist in the 22nd Annual “FunnyFest” Competition in Calgary, and opened for headlining comedian Eric Johnston for an exclusive show at Vancouver Film School."

Stories (Most of my jokes are based on true stories)

- For a 1960s themed Spirit day in High School. I dressed up as the original all-white Cowboy version of Ghost Rider, and everyone thought I was dressed as a Klansmen. It didn't help that when I took the cowboy hat off my cowl/face hood stuck straight up.

- I full-on shart my pants after a 3 hour drive back home where I was running on nothing but gas station coffee.

- I recently performed a whole 5 minute set while out of breath at the Funniest MF competition, because I thought it would be a good idea to do laps on stage.

- When I was living in Florida I shared a bed with my male chinese roommate on a road trip to Key West, because I was too shy to ask the front desk for an extra bed.

Goals
- I want to be able to perform a solid 30 minutes on stage by the end of August.
- I want to make someone laugh so hard they fall over.
- I want to finally pay off my credit card that's been maxed out since producing my first short film last year.
- I want to produce more short films, and eventually write and produce a feature length film.
- I want to finish writing the story bible for a sitcom idea I've had boiling in my head for awhile
- I want to be able to live off my entertainment work be it acting, stand-up, or producing
- I would love to eventually run a business where I work with international comic book creators and writers to translate and publish their work and characters for english speaking audiences

Jordann Doler

Jordann Doler

My name is spelt with 2 n's. Most of the time I go by "Jo."
I have been doing comedy for 3ish months.
I am in grad school for my Masters in Social Work and have my bachelors in Psychology.
I love doing comedy, rock climbing, playing music with my band, soccer, my cat and my family :)
Goals for Comedy
My main goals for comedy are to have FUN, get better each time and make friends :)
I try to choose different goals each time I do a set. These range from focusing on my body movement, timing, specific bits, eye contact, not using my notes, speaking into the mic, etc
Embarrassing story / Time I think I bombed
I did a set that had done well once before, but it didn't go as well a 2nd time. The set was about farting and no one laughed at one joke the entire time. Bombing is one thing, but bombing after talking about how I farted in front of a significant other is another thing.

Marcus Spriggs

BIO - Native to Seattle, I've spent my life trying to make people laugh. Recently, I have been trying to participate in as many open mics as possible, with a dream of headlining a major show and being a writer and producer of an adult cartoon. I am a graduate of the Tacoma Comedy Academy and Nate Jackson's Super Funny Comedy Class and am currently headed to the semi finals of the Super Funny Comedy competition. I have been at this long enough to know there is a lot I don't know.

Embarrassing moment: In middle school I ran out of deodorant and after gym someone asked me if I smelled beef stew. I never did tell him it was me. I was the beef stew.

The Bruce Lee of Comedy: Angelo Lazarte

The Bruce Lee of Comedy: Angelo Lazarte

Born in Guam to Filipino parents, Angelo Lazarte is up and coming comic performing in open mics across Western Washington. Angelo is a graduate of the Nate Jackson's Super Funny Comedy Class and has been in bar shows from time to time. Total geek, horrible at dating, and non existent sex life is mostly his life right now. When he's not doing comedy, he's watching anime, reading manga, playing video games, and spending his life as an uber eats driver.

Embarrassing story:
In 6th grade, I was trying to focus on classes, that I forgot to pay attention to my body and pissed myself in class most of the time. I blame the hall pass system.

My goals in comedy is simple: In 5 years I will be headlining local shows and run my own shows around Washington State.

And then once I'm great enough, I might find myself going in New York, Vegas, or even in LA.

A lifelong fan of comedy, Dan Berlyn began hitting the stage in late 2021 and is now an up-and-coming Seattle comic. He brings the street smarts and wit he developed growing up in the Chicago area to his stand-up and delights audiences with his crowdwork and improvised one-liners.

When he isn't playing chess or pull-ups at the park he's sharpening his skills at one of Seattle's improv or stand-up mics. Dan will be performing at Club Comedy Seattle on June 16th and The Station U-Brew in Puyallup on June 17th.

Jason Luna

Jason Luna

Jason Luna was born in Tucson, AZ on July 7th, 1986. He’s spent most of his life since in California. He graduated from UC Irvine in 2011 with B.A.’s in English/Creative Fiction and Film and Media Studies. In 2016 he graduated from the New York Film Academy (time spent in both Manhattan, NY and Burbank, CA) with an M.F.A. in Filmmaking, learning a lot about film directing and the craft of film on set and as a writer.

After a life of elementary and high school plays, and some college improv comedy at UC Irvine, Jason got his first taste of celebrity status in 2008, when he won 1 million dollars on NBC’s “1 vs. 100”. He parlayed that success into a brief appearance on the GSN “1 vs. 100” in 2009. And to make this all full circle, Jason won 1 thousand dollars in 2020 for winning the first round of GSN’s “Masterminds”. Jason has always loved trivia, and maybe a little more for being paid for it.

Game shows are nice, but now Jason Luna is an actor. He has been appearing on comedy improv stages in SD and LA for the National Comedy Theater (SD), as well as the Upright Citizens Brigade, LA Connection Theater, and other places since 2016, and performs currently every week online with the One Love Improv indie troupe. He’s performed stand up comedy at the Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank and others places as well, and is expanding on that front, like most of his fronts.

Jason is a SAG-AFTRA member employed from time to time by Central Casting, and can’t wait to work some more. He’s available, and he’s surprisingly affordable.

Monique Sorgen

Monique Sorgen

Award-winning filmmaker, Monique Sorgen was raised in an international hippie house in the Castro district of San Francisco. Monique’s brutally honest and quirky comedic voice is the result of her unusual upbringing by her father, a civil rights attorney with no personal boundaries, and her mother, a French woman, determined to raise Monique bilingual and bicultural. This upbringing made Monique worldly, open-minded, understanding, and compassionate to varying points of view—which are qualities that inform her creative point of view and her characters.

Derek Sheen and the thoughts

Derek Sheen is a cuddly mess of insecurities and a gifted, one-of-a-kind storyteller. His ability to mine humor from the dark, humid corners of the human condition has made him a cult favorite of comedy nerds around the globe.

Despite a lack of television or film credits, he has amassed a pretty loyal fan base touring with comedy legends (name-drop alert!) Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt and Janeane Garofalo.

Derek Sheen has released four critically acclaimed albums on Minneapolis based Stand Up! Records, with Grammy Winning producer Dan Schlissel.

All four albums are available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music right now!

andrew k. smith and The Adderall Empire

andrew k. smith and The Adderall Empire

Is there life after Adderall? Andrew K. Smith’s hooligan pranks and social impulsiveness paints a picture of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) before medication, and it would seem that the little orange pills could cure his mischief. But readers will furrow their brows as they enter The Adderall Empire, traveling with the author through the chemically conflicting mind states. Is working-memory training a feasible alternative? Readers will beg for the answer, hoping Andrew stops getting into trouble before his parents disown him or he winds up in jail. Again. Everyone is curious about Adderall. Young people abuse it, adults are addicted to it, teachers wish their students would take it, and parents consider prescriptions for their children. The Adderall Empire gives honest evidence of how working-memory training can change the life of a person with ADHD and provides readers with information about an alternative to ADHD prescriptions. Find out what it’s like to exit the Empire! Please find and purchase The Adderall Empire. It can be found on Amazon.

Tiffany Marcum - Artist, writer, linguistically silly, it’s a sign!

Artist/author from rural Eastern Kentucky. I specialize in writing about languages, art, and creativity. I enjoy a spiritual and quiet life with family and pets. I started doing Zoom comedy in June 2021.

Funny things:

- I have gotten hilariously bad "celeb lookalike" results/crazy troll comments. Kurt Russell and John Cena to name a few.

-I was once handed a dog treat in a bank drive thru. There was no animal in the car.

-My thick Southern accent presents many challenges. Alexa/Siri do not understand me. I have trouble with long "I" words.

Dave Fleming Boxer, Coach, Advocate, Aspiring Comedian, now known for his Karoake too!

Dave Fleming Boxer, Coach, Advocate, Aspiring Comedian, now known for his Karoake too!

I was born just outside Albany, New York. Moving every few years due to my father’s job (in finance) promoting him and relocating us throughout my childhood. I’ve lived as far south as Raleigh, North Carolina living back and forth between Virginia and NC for the better part of a decade. I grew up with basketball as my favorite sport and got pretty good over the years. My experience with the school’s coaching staff turned me away from the sport and ultimately, one of two reasons why I became a Coach myself later on. I got into combat sports at the age of 21 with Breon Rucker as my first coach. The day I walked into the gym and started training my life made a hard change from then on. My coach cared about me and I worked hard because I knew it made him proud. My coaches in school were not the greatest so this was new to me and sparked the interest of being a good caring Coach myself so that people didn’t have to go through what I did. I ended up switching to classic Boxing as my only combat sport and fell in love. I fought professionally in my first ever sanctioned fight with no amateur experience outside the gym. I went on to fight three more times, breaking even with a 2-2 record. Life took a hold as it does with many boxers and things started pulling me away from the sport. I later got heavily into coaching making that my full time career and unfortunately let the night life and “post-fighter” lifestyle get in my way. I sank to a very low point in life, contemplating what the point was at all. That led me to my biggest fight to date, my fight with alcohol. It took a little over a year of consistent hard work and determination to finally break the mental and physical addiction and move on with my life. I am now living back in New York where I live close to family and am currently moving in with my beautiful girlfriend and her almost 5 year old son. I’ve been back coaching since the first few months of covid, starting out in my mother’s driveway, moving on to a karate gym that has been home to me since October 2020 and now hoping to land a new full time coaching gig. I’m the happiest overall I have probably ever been and excited about what’s to come.

Tim Mathis Wrote a book! I Hope I Was Wrong About Eternal Damnation: An Absolutely True Memoir

Welcome Tim to DinoDadChats as we discuss mental health, religion, eating pigs, and other importantly fun stuff together! A little about Tim: Tim is the author of two books: "The Dirtbag's Guide to Life: Eternal Truth for Hiker Trash, Ski Bums and Vagabonds", and "I Hope I Was Wrong About Eternal Damnation: An Absolutely True Memoir". He's also a psychiatric nurse and a bit of a nomad. He spent five months hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and a month on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and has lived in Ohio, New Zealand, and the Pacific Northwest.

Favorite comedian: I'm not sure. Mindy Kaling is really good, and I love all of the descendants of the old MTV sketch comedy show 'The State'. I also like the Flight of the Concords guys a lot.

Favorite song: another hard one, but I'd probably pick "Jolene" by Dolly Parton at the moment, or something old from Bruce Springsteen: "I"m on Fire" maybe? My Karaoke song is a duet with my wife Angel: "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship.

Sara Grimes: She’s a poet and now ya know it

Sara Grimes: She’s a poet and now ya know it

“5 funny things about me

(1) I did my first stand up comedy set about being a born again atheist. It came to me in a vision when I woke up one day that I could perform comedy after watching 5 comedians recite the same terrible lines for 3 months in a row

(3) I never smoked pot before the pandemic. I tried to roll a joint and use a pipe in college but I couldn't figure it out. I'm a huge nerd. so i had to wait until the invented weed pens. then i went into oz and asked for a gram. they were like indica or sativa? i was like both! and thats how i got through 2020
(4) I found out about stone way cafe through a shell station poet.
(5) I was once fired from a toy store.”

Dangerous Jon - Florida Man or Tacoma Man

Dangerous Jon - Florida Man or Tacoma Man

Dangerous Jon recently had the booking agent at Super Funny Comedy Club come up to Dangerous Jon and say Dangerous Jon was funny and Dangerous Jon should reach out to perform more, which is maybe the coolest thing to happen in Dangerous Jon’s 2 year comedy career. Very validating, which is something Dangerous Jon really needed. Dangerous Jon is so looking forward to going up there as often as they will have Dangerous Jon.

Dangerous Jon first time taking LSD I was 32 years old. Dangerous Jon rode my motorcycle and it was glorious. Dangerous Jon has used psychedelics to treat my issues with PTSD. Dangerous Jon has found them very efficacious. Makes Dangerous Jon is able to rewatch those moments in my head from traumatic moments, but with my sympathy and kindness to myself. Perspective, that's what psychedelics offer me.

Dangerous Jon was a Special Forces Medical Sergeant, and a Ranger, deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan for most of my career. Dangerous Jon suffered a gunshot wound or two, but the many explosions from IEDs are what made me take a medical retirement. Dangerous Jon will talk about those times if Dangerous Jon is able, if it seems relevant or whatever, and if Dangerous Jon is not able Dangerous Jon’ll just say Dangerous Jon can't do it and help you transition to the next piece.

“DinoDad can know longer change every pronoun to Dangerous Jon”My two little brothers are disabled. I am the oldest, Robert was born when I was five, blind and developmentally disabled, and a year or so later Jerrod was born premature as well, and he has been troubled. My parents are still together and Dangerous Jon got them out of Florida, to move out here. My parents are embarrassing but they are kind and caring and Dangerous Jon never doubted that they would take a bullet for any of us. Dangerous Jon is very lucky.

I grew up in miami.

Actually I should have thought of this earlier, but you can check my blog, there's where you'll find stuff

On second thought

On second thought

I decided to practice my routine and exercise the thoughts as they came to me. I thought of things that I have thought or funny earlier in the day. I thought about things that weren’t funny earlier in the day but then I thought about the more they seem funnier so I talked about things that popped into my head and made silly little comparisons usually I talk about opposites so you might notice the theme when I talk about things I think are funny they talk about how they are opposites white being so different also makes us the same. Insert laughter here
