U.S. Forest Service With Jackie Mitchell
Joe had a chance to sit down with Jackie Mitchell from the U.S. Forest Service. Jackie has been working in some aspect of Forestry since the summer of 2014. She got into Forestry after she transferred to Michigan State University her Junior and instantly fell in love with the classes and the overall concept of Forest Management. Jackie started working for the U.S. Forest Service in timber in May 2015 as a seasonal and received her permanent job in Jan. 2017. She is currently a Pre Sale Forester on the Boise National Forest in Idaho. Her main job duties include designing timber sales, marking & cruising timber, contract preparation and appraisal, as well as occasional work in wildland firefighting.
