HBO Max is about to show Colin Firth a Staircase, while Paramount is working on a new Transformers movie with Charm City King director, Angel Manuel Soto. Netflix secured two Knives Out sequels but says goodbye to Rege-Jean Page of Bridgerton fame. The Witcher Season 2 is finally finished filming. Fresh off the heels of Godzilla vs. Kong, Adam Wingard was announced to direct a Thundercats movie. Donald Faison and Nicholas Podany were cast in CW’s upcoming live-action Powerpuff Girls series. Amanda Seyfried replaces Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s upcoming series, The Dropout. NBCUniversal has started talking about pulling their movies from other services to bulk up Peacock.

In reviews, we revisit yet another childhood show remade – Punky Brewster. We also got a little Irregular on Netflix with some teens working with Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. The main dish this week is Godzilla vs. Kong where there was surprisingly a clear winner.

In gaming news, some Call of Duty cheaters got a little more than they bargained for, and Fortnite really, REALLY seems to be doing its best to get Steven interested, with the newest addition of raptors to the game. Apex Legends is getting some Titanfall content, but Ninja Gaiden 1 & 2 remaster hopefuls are about to be disappointed, because some original code was lost. Someone sold a Super Mario Bros sealed copy for an insane amount.

In tv and movie news, Black Widow is officially coming to Disney Plus. The Suicide Squad released a trailer and it has a big reveal. WB sets a deal with theaters for the release of films in 2022. The Flash film recasts Barry's father, Henry Allen. Pierce Brosnan has been cast as Dr. Fate in the Black Adam film. Promising Young Woman director, Emerald Fennell has been tapped to write a Zatanna film for the DCEU. Aya Cash has bad news for fans hoping to see more Storm Front in season 3 of The Boys. Russell Crowe has been added as an unknown character in Thor Love and Thunder. Disney Plus will see a Hawkeye spinoff based on the character Echo and bring back National Treasure with a fresh set of characters. Keanu Reeves will star and adapt his comic, BRZRKR for Netflix. Wellington Paranormal, a spinoff series from What We Do In The Shadows, is heading to the CW and HBO Max. Sony is adding Ghosts of Tsushima to the list of PlayStation titles getting the film treatment. 

In reviews, we check out just how Invincible the new hero on the block is for Amazon Prime. We binged season 2 of Solar Opposites over on Hulu, and said finish the section with our thoughts on Monster Hunter. Yes, we really watched that movie.

In gaming news, Back 4 Blood has been delayed while Pax East has been cancelled. We go over some titles that were showcased at the Xbox Indie event on Twitch. Nintendo is giving Pikmin the Pokemon Go treatment with an AR mobile game. Microsoft has rebranded Xbox live to Xbox Network. The developer behind Outriders has plans for players who cheat. Finally, Sony has announced the last dates for gamers to purchase content on the PS Store for the PS3, PSP, and PS Vita.

King of the Hill could be seeing a revival, set 15 years later.

Gamescom 2021 will officially be a hybrid event with digital content as well as demos available in a convention center.

In gaming news, we have new games for Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus. Sony had another State of Play and Final Fantasy 7 Remake was the bid reveal with a PS5 upgrade and DLC, for more money, of course. Tony Hawk Pro Skater Remastered also has a next gen upgrade. Call of Duty is so large in size now that it won't fit on a 500gb PlayStation 4. EA is pulling the plug on Anthem. PSVR is headed to PlayStation 5, but not for awhile. Sony plans to release more exclusives to PC for a larger audience, starting with Days Gone. We finish the gaming section with our thoughts on the Outriders Demo released on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is getting a season 2 pass with some big news for a new zombie mode called Outbreak. Blooper Team might be working on a Silent Hill project. Microsoft has a new wave of backwards compatibility for the Series X and S. Jessica takes a swim with Call of the Sea, available on Xbox Game Pass.

CBS All Access will rebrand to Paramount Plus. WWE signs a deal with NBC Peacock. Lars Mikkelsen is rumored to play Thrawn on the Ahsoka series for Disney Plus. Karen Gillian Confirms her return to the MCU in Thor Love and Thunder.

In Reviews, We watched the premier for season 2 of CW's Batwoman. Took a trip to Isla Nublar in Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous season 2 on Netflix and Love and Monsters, post apocalyptic comedy.

In gaming news, Capcom gave more details about Resident Evil Village at their showcase and it had plenty of sexy evil women. Resident Evil 4 Remake gets a development change and delay. Cyberpunk 2077 makes a lot of money and records despite a rough launch.

The CW cancels Green Arrow and Canaries. Borat 3 will not happen, it is...VERY NICE...NOT! However, Deadpool 3 has been given an official R rating for the future MCU film. Loki will see a season 2 and series writer, Michael Waldron, will also pen a Star Wars film for Kevin Fiege. Roku has purchased the content from Quibi. 

In reviews, We get a short look at Marvel's Studios Legends on Disney Plus. Watched Cobra Kai and History of Swear Words on Netflix. Lastly we get the blues for Pixar's Soul back on Disney Plus.

In gaming news, Outriders is delayed, but we get a demo. Nintendo reveals the details on it's Universal Studio attraction, Nintendo World set to open in Japan. Meanwhile Monster Hunter's demo shuts down the eShop and Netflix will be leaving Wii U and 3DS this year. PlayStation 4 will be discontinued in favor of PS5 production. Microsoft wants to survey Xbox Series X and S owners about future controller features. Lastly, Star Wars games will now carry a new branding of Lucasfilm Games.

What's On The Exam Table?

In TV and movie news, Hollywood is shutting down filming again for a handful of shows like Shameless and Brooklyn Nine Nine. Furiosa, Coyote v Acme, and The Boss Baby sequel all get new release dates. Rubiks Cube is getting a game adaptation to the big screen and little screen. Speaking of game adaptations, the Resident Evil reboot has officially finished filming, and no this is the other Resident evil thing. There's a lot of them. Star Wars on Twitter may be teasing Mace Windu returning to the franchise. I remember the first time I caught that tease by Lucas Films. Dr. Who might be getting another regeneration of the lead character after rumors that Jodie Whittaker has quit. Discovery Plus is a new streaming service that wants you to pay to watch the shows that you only watch when you cant think of anything better and give up looking. Roku is in talks to acquire the Quibi library. Warner Bros is focused on DC content for the foreseeable future. It sounds like it will be without Ray Fisher as Cyborg from his recent comments regarding DC Film President Walter Hamada. Legendary has plans to challenge WB over the announced release of Dune on HBO Max instead of theaters. Speaking of HBO Max, WW84 and Soul square off for the battle of the streaming services and we have some stats for their releases and reception for Wonder Woman 1984. It is already getting a third film so that should be some indication, right? Lastly, Sony has finally figured out that having PlayStation properties could be useful for making more money in Hollywood.

In Reviews, we watched the 4 part documentary Heaven's Gate: The Cult of Cults and from what we can tell it has to be fiction! We can't explain it otherwise. Netflix's second installment of the Transformers War for Cybertron series, Earthrise, released and we give our thoughts. Wonder Woman 1984 has finally released on HBO Max and we give our review on the highly anticipated sequel. It's mostly spoiler free, but we have a 10 min spoiler dive near the end of the conversation. Keep your ears open for the warning.

In gaming news, Sony puts a warning on games for the PS5 for PS4 games, so you know which version you are playing. KFC is now trying to seduce gamers with a gaming console. Nintendo buys the developer behind Luigi's Mansion 3, Next Level Games. An ancient Gameboy add on is found after never being released to consumers. Phil Spencer wants to improve Xbox Series X and S production. Lastly, CD Projekt Red is being sued by investors over the drama behind the production of Cyberpunk 2077.
