COME to Catholic Parish Summit from June 12-14 in Harrogate, UK to join 1,000 parish leaders, share the vision of a Church that is missional and apostolic at its very core, and be equipped to lead in your parish so that more people will come to know Jesus.
BAKE try Matt Regitz family recipe for Sticky Jeffs this Christmas:
Ingredients:
10-12 inch round aluminum pan
1 package of yeast rolls (typically 12 per package)
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pecan halves (or pieces)
1/2 package of regular butterscotch pudding (not instant) - not sure if this is a global product, I may have to clarify for you
1/4 cup melted butter
In the round aluminum pan, grease the bottom with butter stick and layer in items above in the order they are listed (rolls first - other ingredients poured on top of the rolls, melted butter last). To eat the next morning, leave uncovered (on a baking pan) overnight and place in oven in the morning after yeast rolls rise (see attached instructions attached above). To make in batches, multiply the recipe by the number of servings you wish to create, cover each separate pan with aluminum foil and freeze until ready to deliver to the lucky friends. Attach cooking instructions (attached above) to each Sticky Jeff pan when you drop them off.

Serving Mission | Part 4
In the fourth part of our series on the Vatican document on evangelization and parish renewal, Fr. James Mallon and Fiona O'Reilly speak into some of the obstacles within this document. This complex document created over so many years with the input of so many leaders means that there can be a degree of confusion and in this part of our discussion, we talk about some of the places we know that parishes might struggle in adopting this document or where the document itself might miss the mark.

Serving Mission | Part 3
The third part of our conversation between Fr. James Mallon and Fiona O'Reilly discusses the importance of the structure and our ways of working. In our ministry, we talk a lot about maintenance to mission and this document focuses on this idea in a significant way. This document speaks into not just mission but also has enough of a focus on how to give parishes a place to start from.
How does this document distinguish between vision and a plan?

Serving Mission | Part 2
Join Father James Mallon and Fiona O'Reilly as they dig deeper into the first section of the Vatican's document on pastoral conversion.

Serving Mission | Part 1
Join Father James Mallon and Fiona O'Reilly as they discuss the document released from the Vatican, "The pastoral conversion of the parish community in the service of the evangelizing mission of the church".
What impact does this document have on the Church and how does our work at Divine Renovation align with this new clarification on mission?

Why is Parish Leadership a Team Sport?
At Divine Renovation, we lean heavily into teams. In fact, we don’t think that a parish can move from maintenance to mission without building strong leadership teams. This week on the podcast, join Mike Tanner, Ron Huntley, Dan O’Rourke, and Rob McDowell as they come together to share their thoughts on why teams are so important and how parishes can actually form and grow successful teams. During our current season, it’s important to stay connected and when you’ve got a strong team around you, that connectivity is inevitable.

Know Him. Love Him. Serve Him. Youth Ministry with Domenic Inneo | Part 2
THIS EPISODE WAS RECORDED PRIOR TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
Life is hard for young adults and it's even harder for those that wish to pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ. Christian ideals are constantly under attack from the media and aggressively secular culture. Domenic Inneo of Souled Out Ministry joins us for part two of our conversation on how we can reach young people and share the gospel with them and why this is such an important mission.

Is the Validity of a Sacrament Sufficient for the Evangelization of a Catholic Person?
THIS PODCAST WAS RECORDED SEVERAL WEEKS AGO BEFORE TEAMS BEGAN SOCIAL DISTANCING AND REMOTE WORK
Rob McDowell and Father James Mallon come together with Dan O’Rourke to dig into sacramental theology. The team works through some of the mistakes that we’ve made in the way we’ve handled sacraments in the history of the Church. Many show up for sacraments knowing full well that they don’t believe what they do or what they say. In these moments, there is no encounter.
Are we doing what we’re supposed to be doing or what we think we’re supposed to be doing?
Why have we focused on catechesis over evangelization in the Church?
Do many of these issues stem from a bad translation?
This is a great conversation for leaders looking to make a real shift from maintenance to mission.

How are Money and Mission Tied Together?
What does giving have to do with mission?
This week on the podcast, join Dan O’Rourke, Father Simon Lobo, Rob McDowell, and Mike Tanner in a conversation on the topic of giving and how money is tied to mission. Whether you are a pastor trying to grow giving in your parish or a parishioner trying to understand the need for giving in the church this is a great conversation on a topic that no one seems to want to have a conversation about.

Are Leaders Born or Made?
This probably isn't the first time that you've heard someone ask this question. What do you think? Are leaders born with some innate ability that allows them to lead? Is leadership a learned response? How does this question impact parish renewal?
This week on the podcast, join Dan O'Rourke, Ron Huntley and Father James Mallon as they shed some light on this age old question and share with us their own stories of how leadership manifested for them. Whether you're a pastor, a priest or a lay leader, this is a great conversation to tune in to.

How Does Consumerism Impact our Understanding of What It Looks Like to Be a Parishioner?
This week on the Divine Renovation Podcast, Dan O’Rourke is joined by Ron Huntley and Father James Mallon to talk about how consumerism impacts our understanding of what it looks like to be a parishioner? Too often we treat Mass or the sacraments like spiritual fast food. How has the shift to a secular world focused on “things” impacted our experience of Church? Does your parish feel transformational or transactional? Is your parish in the business of life transformation or does your community feel like a “spiritual vending machine”? This week on the podcast we delve into what we need to do to combat these mindsets in the Catholic Church.

This week on the podcast we're joined by Father Michael Mitchell, chaplain for Mission Youth and author of the book I Saw His Face, as well as Stephen Auth, author of The Missionary of Wall Street. Both men are involved in the Regnum Christi movement and both have travelled the world in an effort to bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ. What Does it Mean to Lead Like Jesus?
This week on the podcast Mike Tanner is joined by Rob McDowell, Ron Huntley and Dan O'Rourke to discuss what it means to lead like Jesus? From the servant\leader shift to understanding who it is we're serving, we visit Jesus' example of what leadership looks like. Is that the best way to lead your church? Is it possible? Why is It Important to Talk about Money in the Church?
If Jesus talks about money so much then why are we so uncomfortable talking about money as leaders in the Church. This week on the podcast, Dan O'Rourke is joined by Father Simon Lobo, Father James Mallon, and Rob McDowell to discuss the obstacles to financial conversations in the church and how we can overcome them. The team discusses how we tie giving with mission and provide a clear conversation around how money actually works within the church. This is a great conversation not just for pastors but also for parishioners seeking a behind the scenes look at how planning for giving works.

Why Do We Need to be Comfortable Saying "No" in the Church?
Everyone hates to be told no.
So why is it so important to say no when you're leading a church from maintenance to mission?
This week Dan O'Rourke sits down with Father James Mallon and Ron Huntley to ask why no is such a bad word in the church?
The team discusses why sometimes you need to say no to seemingly good ideas and why good leaders have to get good at discerning when and how to say this incredibly short, incredibly powerful word.

How Do We Recruit for Ministry and Raise Up Leaders?
This week on the podcast the team takes on the topic of how to recruit and raise up leaders for ministry. Ron, Rob, Dan, and Mike have a wonderful conversation around the steps that are necessary to take someone from a casual observer and help them achieve greatness for their parish.
How do you know if someone is the right person for a leadership role and what do you do if they don’t see things quite the same way? This is a great topic for pastors and lay leaders alike.

Or is it?

This week on the podcast Dan O'Rourke asks Father James Mallon and Eric Myatt if it's time to change the music? Music ministry can have a polarizing effect on a parish. What sorts of instruments should be played and what songs should be sung can have a great impact and in this week's episode the team talks about when change is good, when change is not so good, and why.
Have a listen.

How Do We Know We're Being Guided By God?
We believe that the power of the Holy Spirit is one of the three keys to parish renewal. This week on the podcast we dig deeper into this topic by asking; how do we know that we're being guided by God? How can we discern what God is calling us to do in a sea of personal and professional demands? Ron, Rob, and Father James walk us through their own processes for discerning and share with us some of the ways they've learned to be better spiritual listeners.

The Same Old Song - WorshipNOW
This week on the podcast we welcome back Gabriel and Chris from WorshipNOW. They discuss how we can meet parishes where they are with music ministry and how their hymnal can make great music accessible to parishes in ways they've never even considered. Sometimes it's hard to know how to balance modern music with an understanding of the liturgy and WorshipNOW help bridge the gap. How can a hymnal be used as a tool for radical hospitality? Tune in for this incredible discussion on music in the Catholic Church.

Music To Our Ears: WorshipNOW
This week Dan O'Rourke, Father James Mallon, and Eric Myatt are joined by Gabriel Wanous and Chris Nolin of WorshipNOW.
WorshipNOW provide parishes with support in pursuing music that inspires parishioners to sing praise to God. We know that music can have a huge impact on lives and yet we often fail to push ourselves in music ministry.
The team from WorshipNOW share their story and dive into how we can move from maintenance to mission in music.

As leaders, How do we Engage Parishioners in Scripture?
This is the question that Ron Huntley, Rob McDowell, and Father James Mallon seek to answer this week. Scripture is one of the most powerful tools that we have access to within our parishes and this week the team speaks into how to get people to recognize this gift. We discuss why reading Scripture is so important and some ways to get people more engaged in this conversation with Christ. Scripture has often been seen as inaccessible to some and this week the team works to dispel that myth. Whether you’re starting a study plan for the first time or looking for a new way to connect, this is going to be a great one to tune into.
If you’re looking for a great way to introduce people to Jesus before you introduce them to Scripture, check out Unlocking Your Parish: Making Disciples, Raising Up Leaders With Alpha by Ron Huntley and Father James Mallon.
