My Amazing Ability Dogs!

My Amazing Ability Dogs!

Repost from 2019, Episode #56, Season 1. This time I shared about five of my dogs (one is still with me - King our American Bully). I call them my amazing ABILITY rather than agility dogs, because they have been instrumental in helping me grow beyond what I'd have done without them. They abilitized me - I know there is no such word but there ARE such dogs! I hope this encourages you - something we can all use nowadays.

I've been missing in action as I am in the process of creating another school in animal naturopathy.

The Ox and the Lamb Kept Time

Sharing this episode from my former podcast, Animal Talk Naturally. Recorded December 21, 2016 - six years ago to the day which is why I posted this on Wednesday rather than Thursday! Of course this was hosted with my former colleague, friend and business partner, Dr. Jeannie Thomason. Even though she never said much, her presence made things so much better. We used to joke and call her the silent podcaster. Many people thought it was because I never shut up lol, but it was because she truly was nervous and not much of a talker anyway. However, when she did say something it was always profound and thought provoking! I sure do miss her.

I hope you enjoy this episode - it was fun editing it again. This is so in line with the new course I have coming out and going forward with a new school soon as well. Stay tuned as I'll be sharing here soon.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Your Healthy Dog, Pt. 4

Your Healthy Dog, Pt. 4

This is Episode #53, Repost from 2019, Season 1.  This is a 5-part series from a Lunch 'n' Learn I did back in 2014 to a crowd that was definitely interested in learning how to care for their dogs proactively, naturally according to their species needs - evergreen material. So join me as I added to this and broke it down a bit more for a 5-part series into natural dog health and wellness. This is Part 4.

QUOTES

In 27 years there have been 3 million deaths from taking prescription drugs as prescribed. There have been zero deaths from homeopathic medicine and zero deaths from vitamins.” ~Dr. Makkar

“Important to see how the use of antibiotics in veterinary medicine is responsible for arthritic and neuropathy symptoms, pain. I have horrific papers on Cipro damage to patients. This is another example like with that of Rimadyl of drug companies flooding the animal health market with drugs that have been found unsuccessful for human use.“~Dr. Patricia Jordan

“Pathogens and micro-organisms are part of life. They are the original life forms and they fulfill a very complex function. All forms of cellular life on earth share genetic links. Humans are genetically linked to so-called pathogens, or micro-organisms. We actually consist of bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites and other micro-organisms and they form part of our system. Plants and animals are also made up of these. Béchamp discovered that if he stopped fighting micro-organisms and instead improved what he called the ‘milieu’, the environment of the cells, the so-called ‘pathogens’ did not disappear but actually aided in repairing the cells. By not focusing on the disease but on healing instead, Béchamp witnessed the pathogens doing the same. When he concentrated on the disease, however, and literally tried to combat it, the pathogens proved themselves to be the worst enemy. He showed that micro-organisms are the bridge between life and death, and the stage in between — disease.“~Mike Donkers, Understanding the True Meaning of Disease

Nothing New Under the Sun

Nothing New Under the Sun

Repost from March 2019, Season 2, Episode #60. This is another episode featuring my good friend, retired veterinarian Dr. Hugh Bassham, the author of Better Health and a Plan to Achieve It. In this episode Dr. Bassham shares two stories pertaining to our health and that of our animals that are set 100 years apart. The common thread between the two centers around toxins masquerading as beneficial - BOTH added to our food. That folks is not by accident either.

Quote: "Pioneers are buried in unmarked graves." ~Paul Harvey

Another book we mention in this episode besides Dr. Bassham's is by retired neurosurgeon, Dr. Russell Blaylock, titled, "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills".

The Bigger the Lie

The Bigger the Lie

Repost from March 2019, Episode #59, Season 2. It's interesting that I recorded this a full year before all hell literally broke loose on this planet. I already knew what was coming because I had a great veterinarian friend share his immense wisdom with me years before in 2009. He didn't live to see this, but I'm glad he prepared me...God just took it SO much deeper, wider, and higher as only He can do.

Quotes & a couple of the resources mentioned - the rest remain unnamed due to the times we are living in:

1. Video with Dan Mohler HCSKL 2010 Week 10 Session 38 https://youtu.be/M-RpFz6pL5w on our immune system (faith-based)

2. Blog post I mention https://lindseyelmore.com/hear-me-now-one-pharmacists-opinion-on-vaccines/

“If you don’t think faith in God has anything to do with healing the body, you better rethink what you believe in!” ~Gary Young

"It is your responsibility to be responsible for yourself. It is your God-given right to search, read, study, and decide how you will feed and take care of your own body. Be independent and be wise." ~Kayla Howard

"To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead". ~Thomas Paine

It All Started With Food, Pt 1

Repost from 2018, Episode #23. This is also another episode with my former co-host, colleague, business partner and BFF, Dr. Jeannie Thomason. We tackle the issue of true healthcare as we always did, and go all the way back to Eden when this whole nonsense started with food. This segues from the 3-part series on nutrition I recently shared.

History of Pets in America

History of Pets in America

Repost from Season 1, 2018, Episode #13. This episode is actually from 2008 on my former podcast, Animal Talk Naturally, with my colleague/co-host/business partner/BFF, Dr. Jeannie Thomason. Our guest was Kathryn Grier who is the author of The History of Pets in America and was a museum curator at the time.

This was such a fun and enlightening interview and very educational as well. Things I never knew - our pets haven't always been the same pets they are now which in the majority are cats and dogs. Cats and dogs were very much working class animals. Cats were used to keep mice and others in check, dogs were used for herding, guarding, hunting, etc.

Kathryn shares so much of her research in this episode plus at the time she was researching kibble and how it all came to be. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did!

I mentioned this episode on last week's episode plus three other episodes that will be coming up in the next 3 weeks.

The Business of Sickness

The Business of Sickness

Repost. This is Episode #14, Season 1, recorded September 20, 2018. In this episode my good friend, retired veterinarian Dr. Hugh Bassham (author of Better Health and a Plan to Achieve It) and I discuss healthcare as what it has become: the business of sickness rather than health. We share from our years (Dr. Bassham has close to 60 years in this profession) of being in healthcare, how we ended up in this place and what is the solution.

Man in the Mirror

Man in the Mirror

This is Episode 11, Season 1 from 2018. In this episode, we spoke with our good friend, veterinarian Dr. Hugh Bassham about the rise in veterinary suicides. We discussed this as both practitioners and pet owners and our roles for both.

Short video mentioned: You Are Being Brainwashed

While I no longer have the original article there are quite a lot of articles available now on this subject of "veterinary suicides" - just do an internet search for it and sadly you'll see it's all too common.

Focus on Health

Focus on Health

This is episode 10, Season 1 repost from 2018 as that year is no longer available here. This is Part 3 of 3 in this series. The focus/thinking this time is on health rather than disease. It's about mindset and shifting our focus off of what we don't want (disease) but tend to focus on far too much, onto what we do want - HEALTH.

Farewell to Dr. Jeannie Thomason

Farewell to Dr. Jeannie Thomason

This is episode 174. My long time friend, colleague, former business partner, former podcast co-host and pioneer in animal naturopathy and natural rearing, Dr. Jeannie Thomason, passed away March 9, 2022. This is my tribute to her. It brought me out of hibernation with a desire to go forward to continue her legacy.

I shared snippets on various topics she was passionate about from some of our earliest episodes in 2006, with at least one in our later years. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did putting it together. I cried a lot and laughed too. It brought back so much for me and inspired me to finally get back in the game and continue on.

I'll always love and miss you Jeannie girl until we meet again my sister friend.

Free Wellness, Naturally!

Free Wellness, Naturally!

This is a bonus add-back-in from 2019 that I'd removed to use elsewhere. It is episode 61 from Season 1.

"The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take total responsibility for our attitudes. That's the day we truly grow up". ~John C. Maxwell

In this audio I share various ways we can improve our health through our attitude choices, and things as simple as a hug, a smile, laughter, dancing, singing and more! Couple that with essential oils and WOW!

These are so simple some are going to think this is insane...but remember it is nature's way. Simplicity, not complicity. Not complicated. Simple. And for the science buffs, these are all proven scientifically.

I have found that essential oils play a critical role in supporting us in releasing the trapped emotions within our bodies allowing for vibrational wellness to return. That is because essential oils get to the root of of removing locked emotions. Emotions dictate to us what we can or can't accomplish as I have learned through Dr. Allen's teachings. As I use the essential oils to support my emotional release, I do so prayerfully and with focused intention. I am amazed at all that has been able to transpire in my own life as a result. Lots of baggage being released; besides I prefer to travel light.

DIG Into the Foundation of Health

DIG Into the Foundation of Health

This week we'll go into the laws of health which are actually loaded with vibrational frequencies as you'll discover through upcoming episodes. You can find more about the laws of health under the category on my website of the same name: Laws of Health Category

This is episode 168.

8 Laws of Health

*Nutrition is the foundation of health – according to species needs, not appetite, not convenience but what is needed to thrive.

*Fresh air daily – get outside and breath the air. NOT indoor air, outside air unless that is too toxic and then diffuse essential oils.

*Pure water daily – not chlorinated, fluoridated tap water but pure, clean fresh water.

*Exercise - it is NOT optional. God made us all to be ACTIVE and MOVE - animals /pets included.

*Proper rest – without all the electronic devices invading our rest, turn them off.

*Sunshine – without the toxic sunscreens we’re told to use…that is another reason we’re also so Vitamin D depleted. But in moderation - bathing not baking. Watch the animals as they know how get their sunshine! Job 12:7-10

*Moderation - all things are to be done in moderation, or tempered. I think of this as pruning as God "tempers" my steps.

*Proper attitude which means to TRUST in the previous seven laws to work (especially during the detoxification process) and trust in God.

Full Circle

Full Circle

Hello everyone, I took a VERY long hiatus from the podcast as I wasn't sure I'd continue. So much was happening this summer as you all know. I'm back, a little differently. This episode will enlighten you to the direction. Upcoming episodes which I mention plus past ones I'd removed to use in courses (which I am no longer offering), will be added back. The flavor of this podcast will become evident. I hope you'll stay TUNED in to stay TUNED up!

While this is episode 165 the number of episodes here doesn't reflect that. Episodes WILL be added back regularly. I've missed you, and above all else my heart is for you AND your dog(s) to BE well.

Better Health

Better Health

This week on Episode 162, Donnie wasn't with me but instead my good friend, veterinarian Dr. Hugh Bassham joined me once again! It was a pleasure to have him share his personal message of better health. He has a book of the same name titled, "Better Health and A Plan to Achieve It" that is absolutely perfect for such a time as this.

1. We talked about what total and better health is and what that entails

2. Our personal views and how what we're being told is good for our health via media (and government) is NOT!

3. And the simple solutions

Books mentioned (including Dr. Bassham's of course since this was the focus and topic of today's podcast):

1. Better Health and a Plan to Achieve It by Dr. Hugh Bassham

2. The Supernatural Power of Music by Len Mink

3. Redeeming Your Timeline by Troy Brewer

Donnie will be back with me - he's not going to be quite as regular, but OFTEN which makes me happy. We have a funny episode we want to do next which features both King and Ezra. We decided to not do a specific show on Ezra since I've already done several and we are still in major learning mode with this dog!

1. We talked about how she came to live with us

2. Her relationship with King

3. Her amazing-ness. It's hard to think of her as anything but amazing

This week on Episode 160, we talk about special American Bully boy, King. He is our big "little man" Buddy Dude. The pic is him wearing his superman cape that I mention in the show.

1. We talked about how he came to live with us

2. His role in our family

3. And Donnie has a special thing he relays about King - something I didn't even know until he shared it on this podcast!

Blog Post written in 2013 about King - which means it's probably more accurate than what we shared today lol as memory fades with age: https://www.aspenbloompetcare.com/2013/02/meet-king/

Next week we'll focus on our girl, the only girl we've had since we've been married, Schatzie. She was the most amazing dog and together with King they made the most beautiful duet!

You Ain't Gotta Eat It!

This week on Episode 159, we talk about FOOD. As in DOG food. As in REAL dog food. As in CARNIVORE food.

To break it down a bit:

1. We talked about how we got started with Shadrach

2. How we source our food

3. How we counter the naysayers - or at least a couple of them

4. We especially worked to make it simple, but also I did offer and mention my own resource for you, Real Nutrition for Our Dogs

Through the Fire

Through the Fire

This week on Episode 158, we talk about another of our former amazing dog's, Meshach. This journey of ours with his was not only very difficult because of what he went through, but also because it was not just a physical problem but a spiritual one. So we open this podcast with prayer.

This week we talked about:

1. How Meshach came to us - that in and of itself was a miracle (they always are).

2. Meshach's ambassadorship

3. The spiritual journey he took us on, in particular me, Dr. Kim, that I never knew I needed to know, but then that's what ALL our dogs do for both of us!

QUOTES

“By vaccinating every individual animal and not allowing it to develop its own immunity, we are effectively preventing the passing of the immunity to the future generations. A vaccine is always made from the most virulent form of the virus since pharmaceutical companies jump on the wagon as soon as the disease appears and the level of fear is at its highest. While in nature this virus would have mutated into a less virulent form, it does not do so in the vaccine. Generations of animals are therefore injected with the worst form of the virus and stripped of their natural immune response which would have been passed onto subsequent generations. What is passed forward instead is deformed DNA, and the destruction of the species must ensue. Vaccinated mothers do not pass on herd immunity, which then puts pups in greater danger of contracting disease while they are very young. By attempting to save the individual animal, we are effectively destroying the species. A healthy species is able to survive without human interference and we are taking that ability away from our animals." ~Aleksandra Mikic, DMH, DVH, DPh

"Mercury and aluminum are PROTEIN MUTATORS in their own right and DNA is PROTEIN! Related genomes will respond in RELATED FASHION so breeds that have related genomes respond to the assault in the same fashion making it LOOK like a breed or tribe thing but it is in reality a RELATED GENE DAMAGE THING: chronic diarrhea, parasitism, leaky gut, food allergies, IBD, pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, and anal gland saculitis are all autoimmune issues and this means induced by the vaccines".~Patricia Jordan, DVM

"80% of disease in our dogs occur within 3 months of vaccinating". ~Dr. Chris Day

"Our new grads don't know a heck of a lot more about vaccines than our older grads. And I've figured out why this is. They know a lot more about basic immunology, but they don't know about vaccinology and the two are not the same. Also, they're taught by people generally that know nothing about vaccinology. Now, when do they get their vaccine training? During their fourth year. And who's giving that? The veterinarians that know how to give vaccines, that still don't know about vaccinology. So we haven't gone very far from where we were ten years ago or twenty years ago with regard to training veterinarians about vaccines." ~Ronald Schultz, PhD, leading veterinary vaccine researcher during a 2009 Pet Vaccine Seminar

The Shad, Part 2

The Shad, Part 2

This week on Episode 157, we talk about our former amazing dog, Shadrach aka Shad. He is the primary reason I began my journey into natural health in earnest. This is a continuation of last week's episode. Here is the link to Part 1 https://doggonetruth.podbean.com/e/the-shad-part-1/

 This week we talked about:

1. How Donnie figured out the true illness that Shadrach was suffering from and how that escalated into the work I now do.

2. How we switched Shadrach to a raw diet and natural lifestyle.

3. His fall down an arroyo that led us even deeper into natural health - if we hadn't he wouldn't have lived past his 7th birthday! Which led us deeper into our essential oils journey too!

The Shad, Part 1

The Shad, Part 1

This week on Episode 156, we talk about our former amazing dog, Shadrach aka Shad. He is the primary reason I began my journey into natural health in earnest. We left out so much that we have decided to do a Part 2 next week. Here is the link to Part Two https://doggonetruth.podbean.com/e/the-shad-part-2/

A reminder that our podcast is unscripted and I have zero idea what Donnie is going to say ever but he has no idea what I'll say either. This week we talked about:

1. How we got Shadrach during a tragedy in my family.

2. Initial challenges with him that were really about (as it always seems to be) exposing something I need to reckon with in my own life.

3. Shadrach's illness that led me straight into natural health without hesitation

4. How he saved his own life and Donnie's one morning

And a whole lot more!

Shadrach's NEW blog post:

https://www.aspenbloompetcare.com/2021/03/healing-comes-from-joy/

Next week we'll cover ...

As I said last week, we'll be sharing each dog that we've had together, and then we'll be going down  rabbit holes as Donnie has a way of saying things in a way I can't or don't!

The Raw Golden

The Raw Golden

Okay we are back in earnest this week for Episode 155. I'll be honest and say I felt out of my element as I had grown used to being the only host for the last 2.5 years.

Keep in mind, our podcast is unscripted and I have zero idea what Donnie is going to say lol. I might appear snarky with him at times but trust me, it's just how he and I jest with one another ALL DAY LONG EVERY DAY! Thank you for joining us!

I feel we missed a few points which I'll point out here and hope that you READ these:

1. Jesus is always intended to be the center of every episode. Donnie just zeroed in on raw feeding which he is strong in sharing. I am grateful for that though. So we will be working out our "groove" in the coming episodes no doubt!

2. Ezra did whine through a lot of the podcast this time - which he's never done before because usually he's with King and Donnie in another room. We made the mistake of putting King in another room because we didn't want them to get into one of their LOUD wrestling matches or tag lol. So when Donnie was talking I was petting and stroking Ezra, and when I was talking Donnie was, but if we forgot him for a moment he'd whine. He wanted King in the room too so that's how it will be going forward - King Bubba and Priest Ezra TOGETHER.

3. We left out a whole lot of the middle because honestly, some of our story is just not so pretty unless viewed through the lens of the Cross of Jesus Christ - which not everyone will do. So there you have it.

Fridge's Team Page: https://www.aspenbloompetcare.com/team-member/fridge-the-golden-retriever/

Fridge's Story: https://www.aspenbloompetcare.com/2015/10/a-tale-of-three-dogs-part-one/

Fridge was such an awesome dog and we felt it was time for him to be included in the list of our amazing Teacher Dogs - of which they ALL have been and continue to be. In fact, they will ALL (current dogs and angel dogs) be doing the blogging for me on my blog! Shadrach impacted so many that often when I share his photos on FB, I get so many saying how much HE helped them - yes him not me. So I aim to allow them free rein!

Flying in Midair

Flying in Midair

This week on Episode 151, this is Chapter Twenty-Five of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about one incident with a hawk when we first moved to what was our desert retreat house. I say was because LOTS of houses and businesses have sprung up since so it's not as quiet or peaceful as it was 12 years ago. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful for all the encounters with wildlife we have had here and continue to do so. The photo with this episode is of a hawk sitting on our wall in our front yard this past summer.

Also in this episode is the AfterWord and Conclusion even though there is still one more chapter in this book (see below) - Shadrach the Neo Mastiff...Nuthin' But the Dog in Him. It was actually the first chapter I recorded a couple of years ago so don't miss it!

Desert Dogs

This week on Episode 150, this is Chapter Twenty-Four of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about the wild desert dogs (aka coyotes) that live in my area. WE encroached on THEIR territory but they manage to survive anyway. I tell of one up close and personal encounter I've had with them, but I've since had many since the writing of this book.  The photo with this episode is one I took of the female coyote who followed me and my Great Dane, Meshach one morning that I mention in this episode. She wasn't the last one to follow me and I'm sure she won't be the last.

Park Paws

This week on Episode 146, this is Chapter Twenty-Two of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about primarily dogs I encountered at the park I ran at for ten years, plus one very special kitty, and a stinky surprise! This brought back all those memories for me and all but one were such good memories.

While I feel I did beat myself up a lot in this book, I hope you come away inspired and encouraged instead. To know how much God loves you and His animal kingdom. As a friend told me recently be grateful for all the lessons they teach us - good, bad and ugly.

When Animals Attack!

When Animals Attack!

This week on Episode 145, this is Chapter Twenty-One of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about a variety of animals that all decided I was a worthy target for one reason or another. I am fortunate as only one, our own family cat, actually did go through with the attack. However, I learned a lot more about animals through all of this as well as what we allow into our eyes and minds plays a huge role in what we attract into our lives too.

This week on Episode 143, this is Chapter Nineteen of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about a variety of species who also happened to leave a lasting impression upon my animal loving heart. I hope they not only do that for you, but also encourage you to remember and share your own stories of the animals who've left lasting impressions upon your own life.

This week on Episode 140, this is Chapter Seventeen of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about three very special cats, orange tabbies to be exact! While only one of the three was mine, each one indelibly left their feline pawprint upon my heart. There is so much in these stories that I know I'd do differently now, but that is the journey we call life. I've been fortunate to have had so many animals gracing my own journey.

This week on Episode 138, this is Chapter Sixteen of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about several very special horses - aren't they all - that passed into and through my life over the years. My love of this animal has never grown cold and never will. Horses were my first animal love and will always remain so with dogs neck and neck with them! There are both sad and happy stories in this book - I never stray from the truth, but I always try to leave people with hope also.

The Prankster Pup

This week on Episode 137, this is Chapter fifteen of my book, Animals Taught Me That.  This story is about my special, prankster pup, Shadrach the Neo Mastiff! He inspired me to even want to write this book. Sharing this story with you brought back such good memories of the time I got to spend with him. He changed my life forever and I'm so grateful my husband and I got the privilege of sharing our home with this larger than life boy. While my workouts have changed from what I share in this episode, and I've had several dogs since Shadrach passed away in 2011, this story lives on in my heart until I am reunited with him once again in eternity.

This week on Episode 133, this is Chapter Thirteen of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about two very special dogs - the two Golden Retrievers I was blessed to have in my life. One female, Trumps, and one male, Fridge. Both were such great dogs although very different even though they were the same breed. They taught me much, just as animals always do!

We Are Siamese

This week on Episode 131, this is Chapter twelve of my book, Animals Taught Me That.  This story is about Siamese cats that have graced my life! Yes, CATS!! I enjoyed sharing this story even though the ending for several of the kitties was sad, the stories of them are not.

This week on Episode 130, this is Chapter eleven of my book, Animals Taught Me That.  This is a short story about three special dogs that were in my life for only one week. But they made a big impact on me and helped redeem me as well.

Fierce Floppsy

This week on Episode 129, this is Chapter Nine of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about a beautiful little soul I named Floppsy. She was our family dog and a very special girl who I seem to appreciate far better now in my older years than I did when I was young.

The Research Facility

This week on Episode 128, this is Chapter Eight of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is another of those "hard" ones for me. It entails me working at a research facility when I was 18 years old (a LONG time ago).  I'm glad that was my only experience in this field, but I also know I can speak from experience when I share why I'm against this especially in light of what I witnessed and learned.

Working at the Pet Store

This week on Episode 125, this is Chapter Six of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about several of the animals that were in the pet store I was working in as a teenager - long ago in a galaxy far, far away lol. This story has all the emotions - funny, sad, and everything in between. While it was a very long time ago for me, it is still fresh in my mind today. My hope is as always is to educate as well as enlighten.

The Cisco Kids

This week on Episode 123, this is Chapter Five of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about two very special dogs, one a German Shepherd puppy, the other a mixed breed German Shepherd puppy. This is not one of those feel good stories, but rather it's about exposing lack of commitment and responsibility to the detriment of these two dogs. Journey with me into another dark place in my own life, which I hope helps you avoid doing likewise.

This week on Episode 122, this is Chapter Four of my book, Animals Taught Me That. This chapter is about one very special little dog that forever imprinted his white-tipped paws upon my heart. While it's both a fun and a sad story, I hope you still learn just how much these special creatures give to us in our lives.

A Matter of Life

A Matter of Life

This week on Episode 116, I'm sharing another blast from the past. I can't believe how many podcasts we did leading up to this year that were almost prophetic in nature. Hmmm, maybe they were! This one is all about speaking life versus death, focusing on health and wellness rather than illness and disease. It's about LIFE, LOVE, TRUTH. And a whole lot involved talking about dogs of course!

Scripture: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." ~Proverbs 18:21, NKJV
