Contraceptive Injections: The depo and Sayana Press
This episode covers the depo and Sayana Press injections which are progesterone only contraception options that given every 13 weeks. In the current COVID 19 situation, the Sayana Press may be a good option as you can learn to give yourself the injection without having to come to the GP surgery. I discuss how they work, the good and not-so-good things about them and how to get started on the Sayana Press injections based on our system at Unity Health. This video shows you how to do your own Sayana Press injections.: you should watch this before your video appointment when we will help teach you to give yourself the first injection. https://www.sayanaanswers.co.uk/guide-to-self-injection

Exercising in Lockdown (and forever after!)
Exercising in Lockdown (and forever after!)
Exercise is so important for our physical and mental health, especially in these weird times of lockdown, so I have picked the brains of two friends who happen to be local personal trainers. Neil Hussey and Emily Peasgood talk you through their approaches to staying active whether you love getting sweaty or you loathe it. We find out their favorite super-simple exercises, how to wear out your kids, and talk about getting your fitness back after you've been unwell.
If you want to find out more from them:

What on earth is the menopause?
What on earth is the menopause?
So what is the menopause, how can you tell if you are going through it and what can you expect? This episode covers common symptoms, whether you need a blood test and whether you can stop contraception if you are getting these symptoms. I am an NHS GP without specialised menopause training but have based this podcast on the experiences of my patients and the NICE 2017 guidance amongst other resources. I hope to go on to create a podcast to explain more about the confusing world of menopause treatment options...

So you're thinking of having a coil fitted?
So you're thinking of having a coil fitted?
This covers the key things you should know if you are considering a coil. Worldwide, more women use coils than the contracperive pill. So what's so good about them? What's not so good and what can go wrong? What should you expect when you have one fitted? This information is based on the guidance from the fsrh (the uk sexual health and family planning faculty) and was correct at the time of publishing in June 2019.
