Evan is a middle school principal in Clarke County, Virginia. After 21 years as a building level principle he continues his commitment as an educator, progressive thinker, author, speaker, and fitness enthusiast.
Laura a prolific author, presently coaches teachers in reading/writing workshop at Powhatan School in Virginia and coaches teachers in grades K-8 in various parts of he country.

Jake is an authorized Google Apps for Education Trainer and is currently the Technology Integration Specialist for Brady Middle School in the Orange City School District. At Brady, Jake helps manage the implementation of Google Apps, 1:1 Chromebooks and Schoology, while working with a team to envision the building’s future integration of STEM, Fab Labs and MakerSpaces. He is a member of the Lead to Learn Project Core Team, which was recently awarded a $750,000 ODE Straight A Grant to further the school’s efforts in 21st Century Learning through innovation, design thinking and project based learning with access to a FabLab, MakerSpace, and other design resources.
He previously taught and co-created a middle school STEM Program at Kimpton Middle School in Stow-Munroe Falls, Ohio. Prior to that he taught 9 years of math and science in various grades. His Bachelor’s Degree is in middle-level education (math/science) from the University of Akron and his Master’s Degree is in Instructional Technology from Kent State University.
Jake has presented in the past at many conferences including the Chromebook Institute Great Lakes, the SPARCC Education Conference, the ITIP Ohio Summit featuring Google Apps for Education, the NEOTech Conference, the OCTM Conference, the OAESA Conference, the KEEP Academy, the NEOTIE Conference, the Cuyahoga ESC LEAD Conference and the OMLA Conference. He has keynoted professional learning experiences for the Akron City School District (The Teach. Tech. Transform. Summit) and Cardinal Local School District. At home, Jake leads a crazy, but fun family life with his wife, April, and their three kids–Cohen (8), Parker (6) and Beckett (3)–and dog, Kermit. The Miller Family are happy “Black Squirrels” as members of the great Kent, Ohio community. Jake and April, a school psychologist, have been married since July 2007.

She is writing a book with her 9 year old son about ADHD from the unique perspectives of a child and a mother who is also a teacher. She has seen both personally and professionally how children struggle to be understood and how adults are often at a loss with how to handle the difficult behaviors associated with ADHD and believes that by sharing her and her son’s story, along with researched-based strategies, she can bridge understanding for kids who desperately need our support.
Nicole and her family live in Arizona and enjoy barbecues and road trips to Mexico. She is originally from New York City where she gained a love of culture and travel. When I first connected with Dr. Randall Sampson in the Fall of 2018 it was like I catching lightening in a bottle--I experienced the energy he brings to his presentations and relationships--I internalized it and shared it with others. His book, Welcome to the Grind, really pinpointed what I see in great leaders. I studied his pillars of leadership and worked to align myself with leaders that fit that model. Evan is a strong leader, dedicated, and passion filled. His family ties are strong! I love the relationship he has with his mother Laura. He provides an authentic voice that projects strength and truth in a very charismatic way--I admire that! He has been a supporter of mine for a couple of years, and while our chats may ebb and flow as things come up our connection goes beyond the surface, and we can pick up right where we left off. Rediscovering the Power of the PLN with Stephanie Howell
Stephanie Howell has been working in Pickerington Schools since 2014. She is currently the Middle School Instructional Technology Coordinator for Pickerington Schools. She has also taught special education in 5th grade at Diley Middle School. She has worked previous at Pickerington as an Independent Provider for individuals with Special Needs and as an One-On-One Aide at Forest Rose School.
