Interview: R.H. Grimly Author of the Children's Series "FRIGHTLAND"
R.H. Grimly was born with a fortunately sinister name. He grew up on Goosebumps, Wait Till Helen Comes, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and has one goal: to get kids excited to read, and scare them silly while doing it (okay, that’s two goals).
When he isn’t writing scary books, he’s usually writing screenplays for films. He lives near Park City with his wife Leah and their four kids.
“I have terrifying memories of being the last kid in the basement, and having to turn out the lights and run for my life to the stairs. Books like Goosebumps probably helped me cope (all while hiding their secret agenda of fueling a kid’s love for reading). I wanted to pay homage to those stories and the nostalgia I feel for them, while having fun, terrifying new adventures. And of course pushing my own evil plan of getting kids nowadays to put down their phones and develop the same love of reading I did.”
Also around the 27 minute mark or so, we pause R.H. to bring in a little segment with Narrator, BJ Whimpey or did the audio book for The Wildman of Shaggy Creek. http://bjwhimpey.com

Holiday Special: Brain Freeze ('21) | Black Friday ('21)
We are back! Well sort of, while we debate whether to keep the Everything Horror name that everyone has known since the start of February 6th 2017. Or completely reboot with a brand new name, help us decide.
On this discussion, we talk about two movies that have released in 2021. Just in time for the Holiday Season. First up is Brain Freeze chosen by our friend Ken Artuz from DecayMag // ArtuzFitness. Second and final movie is the Comedy Horror with Bruce Campbell, Black Friday.
Have a suggestion? Leave us a voice message on what you'd like us to discuss in an upcoming episode.
Paul and Darsh, take a moment to give shout outs. What the experience was like and more.
For the list of names that I (Paul) mentioned within the episode. It's probably better to se the list via the YouTube video.
Moons of Madness | A Sci-Fi Horror Adventure
A mysterious signal has been recorded coming from the red planet.
The message confounded Orochi scientists. Their analysts broke it down and determined it was of intelligent origin. Orochi management immediately concluded that the discovery was too sensitive for public knowledge and moved to keep it hidden. In secret, the corporation began construction of Trailblazer Alpha, a state-of-the-art Mars research outpost designed to identify the true nature of the message.
You are Shane Newehart, an engineer stationed at Trailblazer Alpha and your security clearance means you are completely unaware of the existence of the mysterious signal. Your job is simply to keep the lights on until the transport ship Cyrano arrives bringing with it a new team to take over your duties.
Soon you discover strange and unusual setbacks. Crucial systems are malfunctioning, the greenhouse is filled with a strange mist and the rest of your team has yet to return from their EVA mission.
Things are starting to fall apart.
You begin seeing and hearing things that aren’t there. Visions, hallucinations – or is that even what it is? Is this real… or are you slowly descending into madness?
Experience true cosmic horror
With your only hope of rescue hundreds of thousands of miles away, you will be forced to explore the real-world fears of isolation and paranoia, enhanced with supernatural elements and cosmic horror. Terrifying visions and monstrous apparitions will make you question what is real and what is not as the very fabric of reality threatens to tear at the seams.
Explore the darker side of Mars
Navigate a functioning Mars base in a game that uses non-fiction elements to immerse players in a believable setting. Overcome obstacles using computers, electrical systems, rovers, solar panels and more, then go beyond the outpost and explore the darker side of Mars.
Moons of Madness draws upon the rich lore and mythology of Funcom’s Secret World Legends. Both games exist in the same thematic universe, but playing one is not a prerequisite to enjoy the other.
Available today on PS4, Steam and Xbone
Through the Woods | A Norwegian Folklore
Through the Woods is a third-person Norse horror adventure set in a forest on the western shores of Norway that tells the story of a mother and her missing son. Through reactive narration, the player experiences the mother’s re-telling of the events surrounding her son’s disappearance. Players follow the path of a terrified woman who has forced herself to enter this terrible place for the sole purpose of finding her son, in a setting heavily influenced by Norse mythology and Norwegian folk tales.
With Through the Woods, Antagonist have captured the feeling of the forest as they saw it as children, with all the fear and mystery that comes from roaming through it alone. This is coupled with a powerful story and high quality sound design, which in the darkness of the forest becomes a core mechanic. Through the Woods is a profound experience that directly delivers the feelings of loneliness and loss in a terrifying place...

Interview: Tom Ryan | Return to The Theatre of Terror (Indiegogo)
Since 2012 we’ve been making independent horror films with the help of our supporters. In our early days it was a friend volunteering for a speaking role, a cinematographer who shot for the passion, not the pay, or a young make-up artist just trying to get some practice working on a film. We always relied on the combined efforts of the few to help us deliver our brand of entertainment to the many.
Over the years we’ve matured as a production company. With a strong focus on storytelling, acting, locations, and practical effects, our experiences have helped us improve our production value, expand our fan base and audience, and secure distribution deals that ultimately deliver us more exposure. We’ve built a brand that independent film fans can believe in and rely on.
Today, we’re asking you to believe in our next project.
Back in May of 2017 we launched the ambitious production of a four-film anthology titled “The Theatre of Terror”.
We successfully raised a $10k budget thanks to people like you. Less than 2 years later, “The Theatre of Terror” had its premiere in January of 2019 and we were floored at the reception it received. Our audience loved the diversity in our subject matter and the classic feel of the anthologies of old we were able to capture.
This reaction energized and inspired us. Enough in fact, to send us back into the bowels of hell of indie film making! Therefore, we are announcing our follow up anthology, “Return to The Theatre of Terror”. We’ve written and developed four new, compelling, and cryptic tales to send shivers down your spine.

The Tall Man | A Interesting Theory of Missing Children
Join Tessa and Paul as we discuss the most important message a film as ever laid down to really should stop the viewer and ask themselves. "Am I worthy to have children?" It all comes down to how one child is brought up and if the cycle is repeated in the household, over and over again. Because that's what every kid knows, all because they weren't in a healthy family household. What if there was such thing as a "Boogeyman", that could take them away from you. And let you finally realize your problems once your children are no longer in sight. Only then would you know your wrong from rights.
JAWS 45th Anniversary | We're Gonna Need a Bigger Podcast
Tessa and Paul talk first impressions, thoughts, the victims, the film as a whole 45 years later. And the most annoying question someone could ask, does it need a remake or not? A nice short nod to the infamous Steven Spielberg classic shark film.
There is quite a good amount of 45th Anniversary Jaws merch, re-releases of JAWS on 4K HD, Steel-book, Funko Pops and more. Depends on where you look online to find the merch for you. Until then, we're gonna need a bigger podcast.

IT (1990): In 1960, seven pre-teen outcasts fight an evil demon who poses as a child-killing clown. Thirty years later, they reunite to stop the demon once and for all when it returns to their hometown.
This was also known as a TV Mini-Series. Separated into 2 Episodes for One Season.
IT CHAPTER ONE (2017): In the summer of 1989, a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shape-shifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town.
This was the remake from the original mini series, taking both parts and turning them into two separate films.
IT CHAPTER TWO (2019): Twenty-seven years after their first encounter with the terrifying Pennywise, the Losers Club have grown up and moved away, until a devastating phone call brings them back.
The second and final chapter of the new run. Which the original showed both "chapters".

Horror stories have always been in her head, but instead of using her ever-so-useful Independent Studies degree in a creative field, she went to work in the veterinary field. Here, she learned first-hand to identify the smell of death and burnt flesh. She’s had her hands inside the warm abdominal cavities of living things, and assisted on surgeries where limbs and eyeballs were removed. Putrid infections, maggots, rabies, and diseases riddled her day to day. She put seven years of own (literal) blood, sweat, and tears into her job but needed to step away.
Red made the painful decision to leave her beloved nine-to-five to spend more time with her kids and to pursue her buried passion for writing dark fiction.
We also talk about what Women In Horror Month means to her.
